Amy Sumida is the Internationally Acclaimed author of the Award-Winning Godhunter Series, the fantasy paranormal Twilight Court Series, the Beyond the Godhunter Series, the music-oriented paranormal Spellsinger Series, the superhero Spectra Series, and several short stories. Her books have been translated into several languages, have won numerous awards, and are bestsellers. She believes in empowering women through her writing as well as providing everyone with a great escape from reality. Her stories are full of strong women and hot gods, shapeshifters, vampires, dragons, fairies, gargoyles... pretty much any type of supernatural, breathtakingly gorgeous man you can think of. Because why have normal when you could have paranormal?
Born and raised in Hawaii, Amy made a perilous journey across the ocean with six cats to settle in the beautiful state of Oregon which reminds her a lot of Hawaii but without the cockroaches or evil sand. When she isn't trying to type fast enough to get down everything the voices in her head are saying while her kitties try to sabotage her with cuteness, she enjoys painting on canvases, walls, and anything else that will sit still long enough for the paint to dry. She prefers antiques to modern furniture, tea to coffee, night to day, and Tom Hardy to Tom Hiddleston. No; Tom Hiddleston to Tom Hardy. No, wait... Tom Hardy and Tom Hiddleston to Tom Cruise. Yes, that's it.

Five stars and No complaints . That’s true love for me.

Five stars and No complaints .
That’s just about as close to “True Love” as I think I can get
for a book.
Some tiny niggles though.
I wish V had had more personal time w/her men. One scene of morning sex w/Kirill and Trevor and a really good one alone with Viper coming together to work something out. But I’m not thinking sex really, though it did feel different to have less sex. That was ok. I just have liked to have seen some tender
moments alone w/say Az discussing his studies or kissing as they watched a sunset in Rome ,or her and Trevor out have a special moment running as their wolves ,her and Odin
Well here and Odin doing anything together .
No that was confusing to me. Odin is supposedly the one of the cover with Vervain but * spoiler alert 🚨 *
Nothing “special” or out of the ordinary happens w/Odin.
Amy said it was Odin on the cover when asked. I was surprised because he was nothing like any of the original images she’d posted for him once upon a time . But I thought he looked good and that being on the cover surely meant Odin would have a bigger role in the story and maybe just maybe, I was going to get my wish and there was going to another baby announcement.
Woooooohooooooo!!!!!!!
I was thinking .
But no.
So why is he on the cover ?
I haven’t the foggiest . Odin just does what Odin does in the stories . He looks and sounds serious , does a lot of the research ,running off to either do it or seeing to his area,or helping by making introductions because he knows soo many other gods.
Honestly, I’m a bit disappointed by that part. For the most part he hasn’t really had a story like the others Yeah, yeah I know he had his “Oathbreaker” story hear the beginning and then you have places where he died and later returned but even when we were all suffering thru what felt like the “griffin years” ( didn’t last years but felt like it because griffin was such a d bag) ,even then Odin wasn’t the main crux of the story. Things surrounding him were and the consequences of not bringing him back properly. They were told he needed things ( like maybe his staff) he was deeply connected to help return his memories. Especially when you were putting an old soul into such a traumatized body.
Even then he was kinda off to the side while V was trying to figure things out and fix the damage.
I dint know Az and Kirill are my faves if I’m honest but I’ve always felt sympathetic towards Odin because he was one of the ones to truly love her first and despite all he went thru and sacrificed and suffered for her in his love for her,soo very very much,he’s always felt pushed off to the side.
He got there first, then lost her, then only to regain her while she’s w/his son. Then by the time she realizes this she’s lost his son but gained two more men,w/more to come .
Now while I adore all of her men for her except Re ( sorry but he’s too pervy for me) and selfish and spoiled ,he’s not bad here bu5 still. Odin just always feels like the run of the litter and I’d just love 💕 to see him get a bit more love.
Ps. I’m still getting used to Viper.

A great read!! I love reading about Vervain and her family🤗 Though I did expect something to happen with Odin since he was on the cover.

I’m soooo happy for Hekate and Horus baby!! I can’t believe they are having a little girl😭💖

I hope the problem that Kirill has with Austin being around Vervain gets solved soon since he’s going to be in the God Squad.

Some good things and a lot of bad like usual. The baby making factory is still a huge ick. The annoying new husband is another. Austin is a cute addition don’t know what to think of him yet. The story is still creative, but it’s just no longer enjoyable to read. The series has been stretched way too thin and recurrent events and plots and annoying parts have been coming back over and over. Oh and the writing is just horrendous. Half the book is about recounting the events from the last 29 freaking books. No need for that Amy, we remember. I don’t need to have every single detail be explained to me 50 times.

I really like the story lines in these books, which is why I am reading the entire series. What I really dislike is that half of the book was a repeat of who each character is, each realm is, etc. I read it so quickly because I skipped the continual repeats until the true story started.

Loved it

I love love love the Godhunter series! This one was a great addition. I cannot give it give stars though. The last ten or so books have been annoying. The book's plot is always different and great, it's not about that at all. It is the constant repetition of back stories. I got through this book in a matter of hours, there was just so much that didn't need to be repeated over and over and over and over again. After 31 books, a lot has gone on and I get there should be a little mention of backstory, just not to the extent it has been. I feel like there was actually less than half a book that was new information. The rest was just reiterating previous plots and character back stories. As a reader that loves rereading whole series when new books come out, that's not a good thing. I had a feeling this book was going to be the same as the ones so I have met re-read the series in a while in hopes that it wouldn't be so annoying. Yet it was. Horribly annoying.
All that said, I'm still going to read all of the books by Amy Sumida. I have learned how to scan through the annoying parts pretty well.

So the godhunter is hunting gods from the very beginning, we have some cute scenes with the children, one very short day with Arach, some drama with Viper, he may be going through some accelerated emotional growth spurt as his behaviour was more teenage-like.
We have zero personal time with Odin, Az, Re. And basically no relationship development with any of them.
I found 6 "Fair enough"s in this book. This is, unfortunately, a parasitic phrase the author uses all the time in a lot of her books and it drives me crazier after each book.
Don't get me wrong, the bad guys are always interesting and well prepped. I've learned so much about the different pantheons over the years. I'm like almost versed in god mythology thanks to reading V's books and Seren's.
What I miss in the books is more tear-jerking moments, more longlasting drama, something to move the plot emotionally. Some conflict. Otherwise, every book follows the same concept - we find victims, we search for the bad guy, we fight the bad god, we win.

As amazing as always

This series is my favorite book series of all time. It really does feel less like a book and more like being among friends that you have missed until the next book gets released. Amy Sumida's books have a realness that makes the characters come alive like no other.

interesting

This was definitely an interesting story. There is loss and there is grief. However, it is not overwhelming and it is not like the key point in the story or a major point of the story. Well written, new characters introduced and lost but overall another very well written story.

I hate waiting for the next book!

God and human realm is safe and things are back to normal after the battle...Maybe WHO KNOWS! Because something is going on in Fairie but we don't know how to fix it or if it's gonna get worse and while my theory involves a whole new world being created, I don't see that actually happening but I wonder if there will be a revelation like when Vervain was bad. Cuz then the gods get more power and maybe humans treat the Earth a lot better going forward. Ugh I hate waiting.
