"...the best book yet. I was so in love with the story I couldn't put it down." (Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock)

New York Times best-selling author Victoria Danann tells the long awaited story of the conflict between the kingdom of Irish elves and the kingdom of Scotia fae. Romeo and Juliet retold with the most delicious HEA ever.

"What do you know about my sister and that prancin' prick of a fairy prince?" (Rammel Hawking)

Duff Torquil is heir to Scotia, the kingdom of Fae, who have been at war with the Elves for 2,000 years. Fae and Elves are both species who have evolved to respond to one fated lover with whom they will mate for life. Duff Torquil's predestined mate is perfect for him in every beautiful, smart, polished, strong willed and a talented psychic who works for The Order of the Black Swan. The only problem is that she also happens to be Aelsong Hawking, talented Black Swan psychic, younger sister of the famous vampire hunter, Sir Rammel Hawking, AND the only daughter of the royal house of Elves.

After escaping together to establish a quiet obscure life away from both families and the political differences between elves and fae, the young lovers are captured, separated, secluded, and left to die as mated pairs of their species tend to do when permanently parted. Fortunately, an angelic intervention persuades the unlikely "powers that be" to get involved and the couple embarks on an epic journey through alternate dimensions that know no limits.

Get it today and find out why readers have called it charming, swoon-worthy, and HEA at its finest.

As the story Victoria Danann has created continues, it gets better and better and better and better...

The sixth book in the series The Knights of Black Swan was a wonderful surprise and a rollercoaster journey on my emotions.

A Tale of Two Kingdoms reminds me of stories through history, weither they be fiction or non fiction, of forbidden love.

The two love birds Aelsong (elf) and Duff (fae) should be sworn enemies. However their attraction for each other which started in the second book of this series, The Witch's Dream, has not faded but has grown. Duff decides that they must be together no matter what. Duff painstakingly arranges everything so they can be together but his plans go awry. The two lovers are forced back to their native homelands under house arrest by their families.

Will the love birds ever find true happiness? Will their families ever approve? This is something you will have to find out by reading this fabulous book.

My favorite line from this book is "There you are." "Here I am." Just six little words but when you read this love story OH what a punch they make.

Come join us on the journey that Victoria Danann has so wonderfully created. I know you will love it as much as her devoted readers do.

I loved this book! Victoria Danann knows how to tell a story and leaves you hoping she never quits writing! A Tale of Two Kingdoms is written about Duff and Aelsong, a story everyone has been waiting to hear! Their families, and their countries, do not want them together. How will they spend their lives with each other when everyone they know wants them apart?

This is the 6th book in the series, make sure you read My Familiar Stranger (it's free!) first so you can get the entire story in all its wonder! http://www.amazon.com/My-Familiar-Str...

I've been impatiently waiting for the day that Duff and Song would get their moment in the spotlight... The wait was worth it, and A Tale of Two Kingdoms shines brightly among the other jewels in the Knights of the Black Swan series so far.

“I know ‘tis damn inconvenient and likely to be more trouble than I can guess before ‘tis done. But I would no’ change it. The only thin’ on Earth I’m sure of is that whatever bother comes, she’s more than worth it.”
We had been witness to the little moments throughout the series (starting in book two - The Witch's Dream) where the forbidden love between Aelsong Hawking and Duff Torquil has been steadily building to a crescendo.

I think I'll always be a sucker for fantasy,
intelligent female characters,
love against all odds,
strong men with soft hearts,
humor, &
action...
and it's just my luck that The Knights of the Black Swan combines all of these elements...

I'd like to thank the Author, Victoria Danann for her forethought in including a synopsis of her previous books at the beginning! As you may know, I dislike reading series which are not completed. I read too quickly to follow a series piecemeal. By the time a new book is published, I've already completed upwards of 20 books since the last installment. I find myself re-reading all of the books which lead up to a new release for the sake of keeping my memory fresh. The author's forethought in including the synopsis was a blessing. I was able to catch up with all the bits of Duff & Song's forbidden love so far.

I've enjoyed all of the Knights of the Black Swan Books, and I make it a point to recommend them often. The first book in the series, My Familiar Stranger is a free eBook, and I've given it five stars.

I know there are grouches out there who don't enjoy a story that ends with love conquering all....but I'm not one of them! Ms. Danann introduced us to both Aelsong and Duff Torquil back in her second book, The Witch's Dream. We knew there would be a story coming later, and her fans couldn't wait for it to be told! In book six, she does just that. In this gripping story, Duff and Aelsong finally get their chance to be together, even though they know their families, friends, (heck - even their countries!) are going to have a problem with them being together. Duff thinks he's got it all worked out....but, as with anything worth having, it's not going to be easy. His plan goes awry, the lovers are forcibly separated, and everyone is out for blood. Ms. Danann creates such a wonderful story. I read it all at once! I absolutely could not put the book down until I reached the end. My sleepless night was totally worth it. I got my happy ending, as well as being able to revisit all of my favorite characters. The characters in this series are so interesting and their lives are completely compelling. You just can't help but want to read more about them. This author is so very good about letting us revisit the people we've grown to love.

It's best to read the serial saga in order. The first book, My Familiar Stranger, is free everywhere! You've really got to read this saga in order to really enjoy the experience of the intelligent, creative worlds Ms. Danann has created.

The story of star-crossed lovers has been around for a while and if asked, most people would say that Romeo & Juliet is the most famous one. Well think again because Duff and Aelsong are about to take that crown! This story has been a long time coming as we met Duff and Aelsong in Book 2 (The Witch's Dream) but it is well worth the wait. Duff has decided that he has waited long enough and makes a plan to ensure that he and Aelsong are together. He enlists the help of some friends, new and old and along the way you get a glimpse of what the royal lives are like for both the Fae and the Elves. Are they really that different? How do you fight prejudice that is so ingrained no one can actually remember why it all started in the first place?

This is a romance primarily but it also deals with issues like prejudice, history, war and even all of the above in one family! This book does not disappoint on any level and the standard of Victoria Danann's writing just keeps on getting better. No, this isn't as long as the others and NO this definitely doesn't affect the quality. It just meant that I was able to sit and read this in one sitting with no interfering habits, like sleeping, getting in the way!

This is part of a series and I would highly recommend that you read them in order. As a taster, the first book - The Familiar Stranger - is FREE. Get this one, take a deep breath, enter another dimension and never look back.

He pulled her into his arms and stared at her face like he’d never seen her before. She did the same with him.*
**They stepped onto a grass path in front of a thatch roof cottage, next to a stream, with blooming flowers that would put most botanical gardens to shame.*
** This is The dimension & spot I would love to get lost in for awhile…*
These are a few passages from the book.

CANT GET ENOUGH OF DUFF!! That's right you heard it from me! Duff had me hotter then a fox in a forest fire;) Honestly, I needed to crack my window. Loving this book is putting it mildly. Lusty, enthralling and a sexy love story is what Victoria Danann gave us AGAIN. I was captivated from page one. I read this in one sitting having to perch my kindle on something, because the freaking thing was burning the hell out of me!! Holy hell!! Yeah, that kind of read! We bookies live to be transported to some fantastical, out of this world, preternatural place. Look no further. Books 1-6 will have you believing in love again, laughing your ass off, and wishing there was a way to interview for Black Swan's A team. Not to mention we get to visit with our favorite character's. Yep, this one's a 1-CLICK CHICK'S!! XX

The latest chapter in the Knights of Black Swan is yet again a wonderful surprise and fun and thoughtful read. As with all of Danann's Black Swan stories A Tale of Two Kingdoms takes the reader on a wild ride with surprises at every turn. The multi-dimensional world created by Danann and shared with us is breathtaking and always relevant to our current world. The characters we have come to love and care about are there but some minor characters finally get their time in the sun! It is a wonderful tale of love and perseverance and thinking outside the box to find a resolution. I cannot wait for the next book in the series! This whole series is so worth any price and need to be read over and over. That is how great they are. Victoria Danann is a master story teller and she takes us all with her on these awesome rides! Thank you, Victoria!!

While this is a fantasy with a dash of romance thrown in, it is also a story of how prejudices rule societies. It also shows the triumph of reason and passion over the unfounded prejudice. A wonderful moving story that brought me to tears at the end. While the romance is at the base of this part of the whole story, there are elements that in this part as well as the whole that are universal to men and women, to society as a whole.

A Tale of Two Kingdoms (Knights of Black Swan, Book 6) (Kindle Edition)
What a wonderful book!! This is the story of Duff, a Fairy Prince and Aelsong, an Elf Princess with a forbidden love. Duff and Song want nothing more than to be together regardless of the fact that their families and countries forbid it. Their has been a feud between the fairies and elves for thousands of years so Duff sets in motion an elaborate plan, with the help of friends, for them to have their HEA. Things don't go as planned and they get separated and go through obstacles to get back together. This is a wonderful story of love, determination and overcoming prejudices to get that happily ever after.

This is a fantastic book that I recommend to everyone!

This is the 6th book in the series. I recommend you read the first book My Familiar Stranger (permafree) so you don't miss anything in this great series!

A Tale Of Two Kingdoms is a great read as the next installment in the Knights of the Black Swan series. Duff and Aelsong are totally in love but he is King of Fairies and She the Princess of the elves both Royals in the hated Rivalry. How will the Royal families react? What started this ongoing hatred of each other and what will they do to be together. This book is filled with action and adventure, and plenty of unexpected twists and turns. Their Love is true ,but can it sustain? This book is a definate must read in this series and leaves you happily waiting for the next story. Victoria Danann has done it again! I truly love this saga!

A TALE OF TWO KINGDOMS

A Tale of Two Kingdoms is book 6 in the Knights of the Black Swan. The books should be read in order- My Familiar Stranger, The Witch's Dream, A Summoner's Tale, Moonlight, and Gathering Storm. I think you will fall as much in love with this series as I have.

What would you be willing to give up for love- your family, your country, the crown? Perhaps even harder, would you be willing to disregard centuries of hate and mistrust? What would you be willing to suffer for love- imprisonment, banishment, accepting a crown?

Aelsong Hawkings is the only daughter of the Royal House of Ireland. She is an elf. Duff Torquil is the only son of the Royal House of Scotland. He is a fae. Elves and fae have been bitter enemies for a thousand years. Song and Duff met by chance in an Edinburgh pub. One look and they knew they were true mates. Now they just have to convince the rest of the world. Over the previous books, the two lovers have managed to steal only a few precious moments to meet and declare their feelings. They have patiently looked for ways to legitimately marry and heal the wounds between their two races. However, each day that goes by, their longing for each other grows and so those the pain of separation. In this book, they make a desperate, daring attempt to finally be together even though they know their actions may make them traitors in the eyes of their families and people.

This is a story about love. Love in many forms. At the heart of the tale, is the romantic and very erotic love between Song and Duff. It is beautiful and passionate. We also see the deepening love between Elora and Ram. There is also love that becomes too possessive and demanding. Equally as important is the love between friends and family. What happens when the beliefs you have held regarding your traditions and laws are in direct opposition to the what you feel for your family and friends? Can love overcome prejudice? In the end, maybe we are defined by that choice.

Victoria Danann has done it again. This a wonderful story that sweeps you away from the very beginning. I love spending time with these characters. We also get an insight in to why the different dimensions were created, why elves and fae are enemies, and why those two races are blessed/cursed with having only one true mate. I cannot wait until the next book is available. This series is highly addictive and a joy to read.

Duff is the Fae prince and if you have read any of the other books then you know what Aelsong who is and Elve Royal is to him. Duff is tired of waiting to be with Song. He decides to make a plan for them to be together and enlists the help of Elora. As with any of Victoria's books this is not only Duff and Songs story. We also find out more of where Rose and Glen.

Once again another great book by Victoria that I just couldn't put down. Her books are always so intriguing. You can never just guess what is going to happen because if you start to think one thing Victoria will surprise you and go in another direction. I would definitely recommend reading but you really need to start with book one. Which is Free! This is honestly one of the best series that I have read.

Victoria Danann has done it again!!! This is the 6th in her series, Knights of the Black Swan; and her 6th masterpiece! A tale of love from two characters that we were introduced to in book 2, Witch's Dream. Can these two lovers breach the great obstacles that are stacked against them by their family, culture, race...? Once you start A Tale of Two Kingdoms you won't be able to put it down until you find the answer. But it is best to start with the first book in the series, My Familiar Stranger, and work your way up to this incredible tale to find out if "love is the exception to every rule". Bravo Victoria Danann!!!!! :)

We are once again back within the world of The Knights of the Black Swan.
This time, it is the story of Duff Torquill & Aelsong Hawking, and what a wonderful story it is.
They met some time ago, and they both knew then, they were meant to be together. Only problem is Duff is the Fae heir to Scotia & Aelsong is from the royal House of Elves & Fae & Elves don’t mix.
Victoria takes us on a wonderful adventure with twists & turns & some heart stopping moments along with the usual hilarity we get from our favourite characters.
Aelsong & Duff’s story is beautiful, a real fairy tale.
I loved it. Another great installment to the series.

ORIGINAL, FULL POST: http://fangswandsandfairydust.com/201...

DISCLOSURE: The E-Galley was provided by the author for review on my blog, from which this reeview is excerpted. No remuneration was exchanged. All opinions presented herein are my own except as noted.
I enjoy and support Victoria’s work and have joined her “street team.” This doesn’t mean I gush praise without merit. I am expected and required to offer my readers an honest opinion.

The Order of the Black Swan series has everything: action, love, paranormal species and abilities, political intrigue and now our very own star-crossed lovers.

A TALE of TWO KINGDOMS really belongs to Aelsong and Duff. Other characters only appear in so much as they serve the story here and the lack of a huge cast playing important roles throughout, is very useful in focusing the storyline.

Duff, Crown Prince of the Fae kingdom of Scotia and Aelsong, Ram’s sister, and a princess of the Irish Royal Family of Elves meet in a prior installment in the series. When the two are mated it’s apparent that there’s more happening here than a random act of nature, it is a biological imperative. If forbidden access to each other, the mates will surely perish.

The big problem here is that, while not at war, the fae and the elves are enemies. In our HUMAN past daughters’ of royal households were the fodder of treaty negotiations. But, apparently that isn’t the way of the fae.

I think it is interesting and fun that Victoria plays on this identity confusion in trying to identify the roots of the war between the fairies and elves.

The more human aspect of the relationship — the driving need to be together and the steps the couple takes to become a couple makes for a very romantic “fairy tale” set within a modern world where even fairies and elves have a hard time believing “fairy tales.” It points to our need for magic and our disbelief in it.

Other bits were extremely well done. While Victoria’s voice is always different and unusual, in this narrative of a modern fairy tale she excels.

There is a bit about creator beings stepping in and being assigned Earth as a sort of social engineering project was the weakest part. I understood the need for it but the execution confused me. Some of the loose ends But, the over riding message is that the lives of individuals do matter and can make a huge difference. And, that Love — romantic, familial, friendship-based, is a very strong force in the universe. It can be both selfish and altruistic. Lack of love brings out the worst in people and true love can bring out the best.
For me this series is an addiction -- a must read. You have to read the series in order though.

Victoria Danann’s A Tale of Two Kingdom’s is truly a love story for the ages.

It was truly a pleasure watching Song and Duff’s romance develop. What seems doomed to fail only makes these would be lovers more determined to beat the odds against conspiring family members, opposing royal houses and even the foundations of their beliefs concerning their differing backgrounds as an Elf and a Fae.

Victoria artfully weaves this tale of love and romance that also lets us catch a glimpse into the inner workings of both strong family bonds as well as the dichotomy of being a member of royalty trying to do what is right for both your country and yourself.

This is a wild ride showing us that with a little determination, love really can conquer all!

Yep, still in love with the Order of the Black Swan series! A TALE OF TWO KINGDOMS, sixth in the series, was as engrossing as the previous five stories. Expect the Unexpected should be the theme of this series.
A TALE OF TWO KINGDOMS may be a novella but it is huge in the amount of information it provides the reader. This is a series that must be read in order. This is a series that must be read, period.

Finally we have the story of Aelsong, (Song) and Duff, (future King of the fae). They first meet in THE WITCH’S DREAM, book two of the series. It’s now one year later and Duff has decided enough is enough and the ongoing cold war between the elves and the fae in never going to end. Song is his mate and he can no longer live without her. While Duff is making his plans to be with Song, Glen is off on a secret mission for Elora to find out what started the war between the fae and the elves. Glen takes Rosie with him but a quest for truth on the war turns into more as Glen and Rosie face some truths of their own.

Yes, this is the story of Song and Duff but as always there are many sub-plots involved in the tale. We learn a few important facts about the council that governs the many different dimensions connected to earth. Angel Kellareal is going to play a larger role in this story than in previous ones. Old friends from previous books make their contributions to the storyline and I’m always so happy to see Ms. Danann include them in all the stories. Hate it when I become emotionally invested in the characters of the first few books of a series then, POOF, they disappear never to return in a major way. With this one little novella so many questions answered and so many possibilities for future books are created. LOVE IT!!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND to anyone over the age of 18 due to sexual content and the use language.

Victoria Danann does a wonderful job with Duff and Aelsong's love story. A Tale Of Two Kingdoms allowed me to experience all consuming love of Duff and Aelsong. Of course their love has the potential to be either tragic or magical. I personally loved Duff in A Tale of Two Kingdoms and root for him the whole time.

Of course the entire book is not about Duff and Aelsong. You will be right with there as certain members of the family and/or team become cohorts of Duff and Aelsong which leads to internal and external revelations. Sorry this is vague, but I don't want to include any spoilers. Just trust me.......A Tale of Two Kingdoms is a must read.

This is the 6th book in the series and in order to get the full benefit of the series, please read in order by reading the first book My Familiar Stranger (Free for Kindle) so you don't miss anything in this great series!

When this book was released in the box set I was so excited. I had been biting at the bit wanting to know Duff Torquil and Aelsong Hawking's story and with this book in the Knights of Black Swan Saga I got it. Their story is the epic Romeo and Juliet without the suicide part but only much more exciting and better. Two families at war for so many years that they lost the real reason why. Everyone works together to find out the truth while Duff and Aelsong bond with their mating. Kept away from each other and then finally being able to be with each other only to be ripped apart again is so heart wrenching for the two of them. You will just have to go out and read it to find out the whole story. Trust me you won't be disappointed.

I absolutely love this series, it's about vampires, werewolves, fae and other supernatural beings protecting each other and humans from rogue unruly beings. there's a love story in each book, and throughout the series we hear about the other characters we've come to love and how there relationships are progressing. each book carries on smoothly where the other left off which is a huge selling point for me.I've been waiting to read this one for a while (songs mating to the Prince, since they first met in the club books ago). it was clear that they would get some negativity because of the feud between there species, I'm glad that the power's that be stepped in to help them out and now they are free to love each other. I would recommend this series to everyone.
