Beginning the last week of March my small prayer life group began meeting via Zoom for a weekly check-in during this COVID-19 pandemic. We realized quickly that a key to keeping balanced and free of fear and anxiety would be to stay focused on gratitude during these times. This book encouraged and expanded our focus. The book includes understanding what gratitude is and is NOT, as well as what can block gratitude in our lives and what practices encourage gratitude. Working toward a life of consistent gratitude has helped steady us through the months of staying safe at home. The chapters include scripture references as well as reflection questions. I wholeheartedly recommend this book for small group discussion.

Very nice, easy reading book that explains how the 'attitude of gratitude' really works, even through the most difficult times. It isn't a 'you must believe' book, but more of a 'here's what I've discovered.' She gives concrete examples of how to change your thinking and your surrounding energy, but also isn't afraid to say "I don't know" with some of the tough questions. It was a good reminder book for me.
