Butterfly was a winner in Desdmona's Titillating Tattoo contest. This powerful erotic short story also appears in Coming For the Cure, a critically-acclaimed collection of erotica that benefits Susan G. Komen For the Cure.
My name is Alessia, and I write about sex. Sometimes it's pretty sex. Sometimes it's... not. I write about sex because I'm sick of preachy people using it to control others by turning it into something shameful. Sex is a crucible. It's a prayer, a celebration, an affirmation, and a motivation.

Here's the obligatory 3rd person promo bio:

Alessia writes all colors and flavors of erotica, from heterosexual to ménage to same sex, and from twisted to humorous to deeply touching. Her work has earned her critical acclaim in the form of an EPIC eBook Award for Best Erotica (fine flickering hungers), two EPIC eBook Awards for Best Erotica Anthology (Coming Together: Against the Odds & Coming Together: Into the Light), two Next Generation Indie Book Awards for Best Erotica (Coming Together: For the Cure & Squeeze Play with Will Belegon), and a Romantic Times Top Pick (Coming Together: For the Cure) in addition to a plethora of glowing online reviews.
I marked this as amazing because it is always refreshing to read about a woman who is strong enough to take a really nasty card dealt to her and make something good out of it. I was not sure where the story was heading but I loved it. Maybe this will give other women who experience the pain of breast cancer hope that they don't have to conform to what society expects and remind them that they are still beautiful.
So this story is about a woman who has lost her breasts due to cancer. She shares stories of how she felt about them and gives us a brief history of her sexual prowess while she had them. Then she tells of the story of one of her college boyfriend/friend with benefits and how she wished she had married him when he first asked her. At the end we find out that instead of reconstruction she had a butterfly tattooed in placement of where her breasts had been.
