Jaxon Reed delivers a stunning follow up, with gruesome and repulsive discoveries on the Zodiac ship, but also page-turning goodness! Action that is non-stop, gritty, and believable. A thriller that is realistic and intense. It moves at breakneck speed, the storyline ratchets this twisted, gruesome tale up to an unfathomable level, with an unsuspecting turn of events that left me filled with tension. This action-packed, character-driven space opera series is full of ship battles, and the interstellar politics described are absorbing and fascinating in its callousness, selfishness and cruelty. I love the Ultima Mule’s crew and other characters! The witty and humorous dialogue makes the reading very enjoyable and entertaining.

I am so excited about this 10-book box set of PIRATES OF THE MILKY WAY! I loved these books from the first one to the last! And I can’t believe I have all of them here in this exciting box set! Start with Book 1 and keep on going to the end – you will be amazed at the pulse-pounding story line and the strong characters you will get to know. Below is a review of Book 1 to give you an idea of what you’ll find in this wonderful set! This one provides the information you will need to move into the next one! It’s an adventure like none other! Enjoy every minute!

Reviewing “DIGITAL ASSASSIN (PIRATES OF THE MILKY WAY BOOK 1)” ***
Rodrigo Diego-Rodriguez ("Roddy") contacted Captain Christopher Raleigh to report finding a huge ship, one much bigger than a typical spaceship. Researcher Elixabeth Wu, working for Louisiana State University, had the brilliant idea of attaching a teleportation device to a space ship to move the ship from point to point instantly. Computers plotted courses to keep ships from popping up in the middle of a star or other undesirable location. Deep space travel became possible and easy to accomplish.

The Captain, an authorized pirate from Lute, looked at the huge ship and asked for information. Scans showed 1,102 humans onboard, with about 800 wearing biocollars which would mean these were indentured servants valued at perhaps 20,000 credits per “indent” – maybe more with the war going on. The Captain sent out 200 attack drones armed with energy cannons. Slowly the transport’s shields weakened and Lute’s AI system LuteNet reported confidence of their successful capture of the ship. All of the ship’s engines were disabled, but their Captain would not surrender. So Captain Raleigh had his First Officer Elijah Maxwell send in the “Intangibles.”

The Intangibles were twins, brother and sister, accepted as part of the pirate crew, even though they were a bit unusual. They were survivors of the Gemini experiment, early teleportation experiments of living beings across a planet; some of those early experiments had been devastating and most did not survive. Transporting humans short distances in a ship, from ship to ground, or from ship to ship became fairly safe; but transporting individuals across a planet was not advisable. The twins would be taking the lead once they boarded the other ship. As the rest of the small boarding party glanced at them, Samuel and Skylar blinked in and out of existence, flickering once. As they boarded the other ship, everything was quiet – until a door swished up and ten bots stormed out, shooting. Would this small team of five men and one woman be able to capture this huge ship? What would they possibly find if they were successful? There were still 200 unidentified individuals according to the initial scan – who or what might be among them?

The writing in this book is excellent in many ways. The detailed descriptions of what the reader is seeing really bring the story to life. As with many science fiction stories, the reader can find it a bit prophetic in how real it all seems and how easy to believe it could happen in our own world here and now. This was really well done by the author! With this being Book 1, it is a goldmine of information that the reader should have to prepare for moving forward in the story. I would strongly advise not trying to skip around but to read the books in their proper order. I truly enjoyed this one and having all of the books in one box set is invaluable for those insomniac readers who won’t be able to stop at just one!

This is the collection of the first ten books, the complete series to date, in this grand space opera series.

This is an intense, action filled space opera story with a quick moving plot that started at a run and never let up. The writing is excellent, the setting highly detailed, and the characters solid. I found each book to be excellent on its own, but the story builds and the universe expands which just adds to the experience. This was an immersive experience where I was drawn into the story and had a hard time putting it down. Some of the stories have quite a bit of violence, so if that bothers you, this series might not be for you. For me, I found it to be an excellent read and I am looking forward to more from this author.

Highly recommended.

Pirates of the Milky Way is a fantastic series. I really enjoyed reading these books! It's about a war that takes place in space. There's so much action and adventure going on, it's very intense and fast-paced. I loved it! These were the first books I've read that are set in space, and what an introduction it was! I think I'll read more of this genre! So I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes to read action and adventure books, even if you've never read space opera before.

This is an amazing series full of action, adventure, snark and pirates. The books are full of crazy plots, space battles, danger and action that keeps you reading just to see what happens next and how everyone will survive this time. Who will win the battles and the ultimate war is fun to read. And with this set it is easy to binge read the series from the very beginning. Will high tech or the misfits win. And the pirate crew is always worthy of a laugh and a groan as they fight to survive and get their bounties.

Amazing pace and good SyFi

I loved the entanglement of the stories and the characters. Very good and fast action. Each book ended with the story at task, but entangled with the next book and the story had a good development. What I didn't like were the crude stories of torture and rape. Also, in the first books, sometimes the stories stalled a little bit, just a little bit. In an overall, don't miss out these extraordinary books about war and crazy love. The author's imagination for plots are "out of this world" ; ) .

Hours of entertainment

Alternate universe, space opera, SF advanced technology, interstellar war

Aside from the endorsements for libertarian capitalism and a fondness for Republican leaders, engaging tale with ten novels comprising over 2400 pages of adventure, much of it straight up space fantasy. Author takes several chapters to wind things down, and there are two subsequent series in the same universe following many of the same characters. Don't believe unfettered capitalism will produce the panacea the author does, but whatever. Enjoyed.

Pirates

This was listed as books 1-10,but it is basically one long book. If you enjoy space Opera on a grand scale, this book is for you. It has endearing characters and fast paced action. Only one thing bugged me. For some reason, the author gave everyone's height in inches an d metric measure. Other than that, I'd give it 6 stars if I could.

Fun ride.

I love it when I can sit down and read a whole series as one big book. On the outside this was just a grand space opera but behind the scenes was an interesting examination of the two competing political Philosophies of our day. 5 stars for that, 4 for the story itself. It was fun, entertaining, and beat anything on TV. Good job!

Choice, Pirate or Privateer ?

This ten book box set is well worth the read. You'll find action both is space and on the ground, humor suspense and wild schemes. IMHO the pirates are more privateers then swashbuckling buccaneers. You will have to draw your own conclusions as you quickly turn page after page following the exploits of this merry band of mischief makers. Enjoy yourself.

Very good read

I really enjoyed this series. Moved along well with very few slow parts. Very obvious comparison of capitalism vs socialism. Often referenced present day making it easy to relate to. Absolutely no foul language - not needed and refreshing for a change. Characters were realateable even if a little simplified. Would recommend to anyone that enjoys SF.

Like I said it's a great story...lots of action and side plots... you get to know not only the main characters, but side actors as well...hated to see the story come to it's conclusion... Thanks...will check some of the other books by the author...

Pirates

What an adventure of epic proportion. Loved this series. Surprised I did not lose interest at all with great plots, character development, technical spacey stuff and a cool wrap up. Space Opera at its best.

It was a very good read.

It was a very good read.
Had a few interesting plot twists.
It’s an easy relaxing read, not a sit on the edge of your chair read or an over complex convoluted story.
