A dark contemporary billionaire romance with a tortured hero, touch her and die, and secret society tropes from USA Today Bestselling Author duo P. Rayne.
My life changed forever the day I saved Obsidian Voss from drowning in the ocean.
When my father lands himself in trouble, I take a job working for Obsidian, one of the country’s most famous billionaires. It doesn’t take long for me to realize that there’s more behind the façade he presents to the world—a darker, more dangerous side.
Still, I’m drawn to him. As he introduces me to a world I never knew existed, I find myself falling for him. But I’m torn because I came to Midnight Manor with a hidden agenda, and I’ve been lying to Obsidian from the start. Eventually, he’s going to find out.
My secret will change everything. And if Obsidian really is the monster he thinks he is, what will he do to me?
'T𝐖I𝐒T𝐄D T𝐑U𝐓H𝐒' Is the final full length romance book in the (Midnight Manor) series by P. Rayne. Spoken in 'dual perspectives.' Obsidian & Ariana
This is the last time we’ll be visiting Midnight Manor since the previous books the brothers have each found their soulmates so it was only a matter of time when Obsidian would find his.
This picks up right where the previous book had left off, with Obsidian nowhere to be seen and his brothers worried about him. Due to him feeling like the odd brother out, alone, unloved, no one to share his life with he took off out of the blue.
💋 Possessive hero 💋 Billionaire boss 💋 Age Gap 💋 Heroine in danger 💋 Secret Society
These two meet under unique circumstances on the West Coast when she saves an inexperienced surfer in danger of drowning, then she swiftly disappears, but when his brothers set out to hire an assistant to take some pressure off Obsidian this offers Ariana the perfect opportunity for her to work for Obsidian all in the name of protecting her family with one last scam.
I liked Ariana, the many layers to her, her past was intriguing, the scams she did for her family, I found myself captivated in her backstory.
Obsidian was harder to connect with, broody, rude, abrupt, but delve deeper and he was probably my favorite out of the Voss brothers. He had a vulnerable side of himself which he hid behind a mask.
Twisted Truth is the fourth and final book in the delicious Midnight Manor series. And like the previous three books I just flew through it and read it in one day.
The book starts with Obsidian who isn't feeling at home anymore in the manor. Now that all his brother's find their other half he feels kinda lonely. He goes out surfing in quite bad weather. He isn't skilled enough to deal with the rough waves but doesn't care. He falls and gets hit in the head. A mystery woman saves him but is gone before he fully comes too.
That mystery woman is Ariana. She gets him out of the water and performs cpr. She flees the scene quickly so that nobody will zero in on her and her family. Ariana recently decided to step out of the family business of stealing and scamming other people. She works two jobs and wants to start cleanly. But when her father gets himself into a humongous debt she is forced to get back into the game again.
Obsidian's brothers are worried and decide to get him an assistant. To take off the pressure. He hates the idea but he cannot do anything against it.
Ariana is the one that gets the job and that is what kickstarts the story. She needs to steal items from the house to pay back Uma, the one her father is in debt to.
But right from the get to Ariana and Obsidian notice each other. Slowly but surely they start to cross lines. A look here and there. A touch. And when jealousy kicks in things accelerate quickly.
Their chemistry in the second half of the book was pure fire!
One of my favorite things was to see them fall deeper and deeper for each other. Knowing that that huge secret lies between them. I love how their lust intensifies each and every day. And Obsidian denying them had me grinning a few times. Oh and his kink! My goodness that was soooo hot between the two of them!
I love the build up throughout the book. To the climax of the truth spilling out. I love that once it was out, it was completely out. And not that new lies were created upon a tiny bit of truth.
The book was quite short. I wished it was a little bit longer. We have quite a long build up. And they go very quickly from fooling around to the I love you part. I wish that was deepened out a little bit more.
I also wish there was more interaction between the brothers and wives and Ariana and Obsidian. The brothers are sweet and accepting. Though the mellowing out could be from them being with wives. But I wish they were more hard, and strong at times. More fearful. Instead of being 100% sweet and kind.
All in all a great, hot and intense book. 4 big stars for the conclusion of the Midnight Manor series.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ I can’t help but wonder what it would be like to fully give myself to a man like Obsidian. Would he care for me and help me discover heights I never knew existed, or would he destroy me?
I’m so sad this is the last of the Voss brothers’ tales. These dark gothic fairytale-adjacent romances have been so fun to read. Twisted Truths is a great The Little Mermaid retelling - I love spotting the nods to the original story and seeing how the authors make it their own.
I’m always a fan of the gruff MMC finding his one and being driven to obsession until he gets the girl. Obsidian Voss was a perfect example - in his case, as he came to care for Ariana, he also learned he was worthy of love.
Ariana was a strong character who didn’t let Obsidian push her away. She really was the perfect woman for him. Despite the secrets she was hiding, she went all in, giving her heart to him.
My only critique is that the story felt rushed. I would have liked to see more of their relationship outside of the sex - not that I am complaining about that part at all. I loved the smutty scenes; I just wanted more of them doing normal things.
This is a fast-burn and very spicy MF romance with some voyeurism/exhibitionism and a secret society sex club. The biggest surprise was the copious somno scenes. That’s a huge kink of mine that I don’t get to see as often as I’d like. Thank you to P. Rayne for gifting me with this!
Twisted Truths is the fourth and final book in the Midnight Manor series. It can be read as a complete standalone, but I highly recommend reading the series in order for the best experience.
I cannot wait to see what P. Rayne gives us next!
🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧 This was an excellent duet narration by Sebastian York and Kit Swan. Both narrators were great fits for their characters, elevating an already engaging and entertaining story.
Twisted Truths is a dark, contemporary, billionaire, workplace romance with a tortured hero, touch her and 💀, and a secret society!
Ariana needs to pay off her father’s debt and takes the position as being the assistant to Obsidian Voss. But when she arrives at Midnight Manor she finds out that while she’s working with Obsidian as his assistant, his brothers want her to also be his “babysitter”/handler to keep him out of trouble. Soon she realizes there is more to the Manor and the Voss brothers than she could even imagine…while being pulled towards Obsidian too.
I really enjoy this series and the chemistry between Obsidian and Ariana was so good. He’s broody and tries pushing her away, but he’s also super into her from the start. She’s conflicted with trying to help her brother and father out, while also starting to fall for Obsidian. I also loved seeing the appearances of Asher and Annabelle (the couple of Moonlit Thorns, book 1)!
I received an audio ALC from Valentine PR, all thoughts in this review are my own. I have really enjoyed this series on audio, the duet narration was fantastic and really brought these characters to life. The narrators are Sebastian York and Kit Swann!
This was my most anticipated one in the series but for some reason it didn’t hit in my feels the way it should have. I enjoyed the beginning, and this book wasn’t awful by any means, I just felt like I expected more😫 it was too quick paced. I felt like the romance needed more substance. And obsidian was supposed to be my fave but I guess Asher ended up being my favorite. I’m not sure how to explain it but I feel like the obsidian in this book wasn’t the same as the other books. I’m sad that this wasn’t a 5 star for me😭

I loved this one so much. I think it might be my favorite of the series. I’m not sure if it’s because you don’t see as many Little Mermaid retellings as other fairytale/Disney retellings but this one just hit different. It was such a different take on the little mermaid aspect. I loved Arianna strength throughout the book as she stood up to Sid and protected her family.
Sebyo and Kit did such an incredible job with this one. Kit did amazing drawing out the emotions that Arianna had and Sebastian was the perfect voice for Obsidian.
4.5⭐️ I was excited to read Sid’s story I’m so happy I got the opportunity to be gifted an ARC copy.
This book was a great conclusion to a great series. Sid was so intriguing and interesting from the beginning his character was beautifully written, it showed his torment and the demons inside him from his past.
I loved Ariana so much her love and devotion to her family was so sweet and the chemistry between her and Sid was off the charts I loved it.
Ps: I loved Anabelle character in each and every book in the series she seemed like a fairy godmother trying to set the Voss brothers with the women in their lives it was endearing.
Obsessed with this book! I literally read the whole thing in a few hours because I could not put it down! I love that this can be read as a stand alone but is also the final book in the Manor series. Also the MMC was named Obsidian and I loved this name. It was perfection!

Twisted Truths is the fourth and sadly the final book in P. Rayne's phenomenal Midnight Manor series and is Obsidian and Ariana's extremely addictive story. Ariana Clarke isn't like her Dad and Brother, she cannot continue being involved in the family business and be the person she wants to be if she continues living the life her family does. So after years of battling with her conscience she is finally free from the family business and the darkness that surrounds it. However when her family finds out that she saved a billionaire from drowning and when Ariana finds out that her Dad has gotten himself into huge trouble with the worst possible person, she ends up being dragged back into the world she's been desperately trying to escape. Even though it's the last thing she wants to do working for a billionaire and reverting to her old ways, it just may be the only way to save her family. Obsidian Voss is plagued by the demons of his past and watching his brothers fall in love and find their forever person is messing with him more than he will ever admit, he feels that he's not made for love, that he's too dark and twisted just like their father to ever risk both of their hearts and her safety. "It would be like finding gold at the bottom of the ocean if I found someone who understands my proclivities. Who won't judge me. Won't judge my past and will find me worthy." So on one stormy night he goes surfing in the treacherous waters letting fate decide whether he lived or died, luckily for him he was saved by a mysterious girl he cannot help want to know more about. Which is also how he ended up with a live in personal assistant or as he likes to call her his babysitter. Obsidian does not need a babysitter and despite telling his brothers that, he still ends up with one and knowing his brothers like he does he cannot just fire her, he has to make her life a living hell so she will quit. But as soon as Obsidian lays eyes on Ariana Clarke he knows she's different and that he will have to pull out all the stops and be the biggest jerk possible to run her off. Little did he know that Ariana had her own reasons for being at Midnight Manor and nothing he could possibly do would get her to leave this job or the manor. "I'll take whatever he's going to dish out and smile while I'm doing it. My family's lives-hell, my life- depend on it." Despite treating Ariana terribly it doesn't stop the sparks from flying between them and with every day that passes it is becoming harder and harder to deny the building connection between them. "Under no circumstances can I get involved with Obsidian Voss. He's the kind of man who would chew me up and spit me out. I do not need more problems in my life, only solutions. So I can look, but I cannot touch. No matter what." Knowing the intense chemistry and desire between them will not just disappear no matter how much they want it to, Obsidian knows he will not be able to move forward or be able to truly function until he has a taste of Ariana Clarke. The terms to their arrangement is simple, they get to explore their chemistry and finally be together the way they've wanted from the start and nothing is off limits except from kissing, kissing is extremely intimate for Obsidian and in his mind kissing will lead to feelings that he cannot afford to feel or experience. "she's a goddamn siren, and the pull to her grows stronger by the day." But somewhere along the way despite sticking to his no kissing rule, feelings quickly become involved and for the first time in his life, Obsidian is thinking and dreaming of a future he never dared to dream of before. "Everything about her is what I never knew I wanted and needed. What I'd been missing. She's a miracle come to life. If I had a genie, I'd use all three wishes to be the man she deserves. To be the man she needs me to be. Not like my father, a man who destroyed every good and precious thing he touched." Of course secrets don't stay hidden for long and when the truth is revealed about why Ariana is at the Manor and that she was the girl who saved him, is their new found relationship strong enough to survive? And add in Obsidian's demons is there going to be anything left to save? "despite all the changes in my life, I still carry around a piece of the feeling I had on that stormy beach-that I'm not meant to have what my brothers have found." Read Twisted Truths now to find out whether there is a happily ever after in Obsidian's future! I absolutely LOVED Twisted Truths, I could not put it down and read it in one sitting, it was that amazing and addictive! Sid and Ariana were truly incredible characters and they quickly became my favourite P. Rayne couple, (I think I've said that with every couple so far! Each couple just get better and better!) and I love that they were both broken in different ways but together they were starting to fill in the cracks and make each other whole again. As soon as I finished devouring Twisted Truths I HAD to buy the paperback! I need Sid and Ariana on my shelf and in pride of place of course! The Midnight Manor series has become one of my all time favourite series I've ever read and I can see so many re-reads in my future, to be honest I already want to start from the beginning again! I will admit that I am gutted that this is the end of the Midnight Manor series, I was so excited for Sid's book, I was counting down the days but now I've read it and loved it, I feel sad that it's all over! I am hoping that somewhere down the line there may be a book revisiting them or there will cameos of them in different books or my absolute hope that I'm crossing my fingers and toes for is a second generation series because you know these Voss brothers will be extremely protective over their kids especially if they have daughters, no guy will ever be good enough for their little girls! Even though I am sad that this is the end I cannot wait to see what Piper and Rayne have in store for us next! I received an ARC of Twisted Truths and I am voluntarily leaving my review.
🧜♀️Ariel the Little Mermaid goes kinky, in this retelling, we get a darker and modern twist on our favorite fairy tale. We get Ariana, a former con artist who used to con people with her father and brother (Bastian aka Sebastian the starfish). Then we have Uma (aka Ursula), the loan shark who took her pendant (aka her voice). Ariana sneaks into the Midnight Manor to work under Obsidian while stealing under his nose so she can pay back her family’s debts.
💭I devoured this in no time, the story is fast-paced, super steamy, and kept me hooked from start to finish. It's a unique and fresh spin on a Little Mermaid retelling, and I absolutely loved it. The chemistry between Ari and Sid was intense, and the plot had just the right amount of twists to keep things interesting. If you're into retelling goes billionaire, this one is definitely worth the read. I couldn't put it down!
🎧𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄🎧 Sebastian continues to impress as one of my favorite narrators, delivering a stellar performance as usual. Kit, although new to me, also did a fantastic job, bringing the story to life in a way that kept me engaged. Overall, a great listen thanks to both narrators!

“People are always afraid of their twisted truths coming out, but once they do, the secrets lose their power over you.”
I have absolutely loved the Midnight Manor series and all the twists on the classic fairytales. I’m very upset this series is over now and will need days to recover from these perfectly imperfect characters and all the drama and mystery that came with them. Obsidian is the final Voss brother to find his other half and it certainly wasn’t easy! “And despite the hell it took to get here, I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Obsidian has been forced to watch his three brothers find their happily ever afters and, as someone who doesn’t believe he will ever get that, it’s been hard. But when he nearly drowns in a surfing accident and is saved by a mysterious woman he has a bit more to live for.
Ariana has always been taught to avoid attention, so when she saves a billionaire from drowning she runs from the scene once she knows he is alive. However, when her dad lands himself in trouble and the only way to fix it is using billionaire Obsidian Voss she is forced to come out of the shadows. “I’m here to steal from this man, not fall for him. Under no circumstances can I get involved with Obsidian Voss.”
Obsidian and Ariana both have lots of daddy issues but when they break down each other’s walls they are simply perfect for each other. I loved them so much and the Ritual Room was 🔥🔥 I will miss the Voss family and their better halves so much but I am excited to see where P Rayne bring us next!
“Maybe there is a way to change the legacy of Midnight Manor. Maybe it starts with love.” Thank you @authorprayne for the ARC! Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🔥 : “Take me out, Ariana.”
I am WEAK for a Little Mermaid retelling! This one did not disappoint! As with the others in this series, PR really knocked out of the park with maintaining a balance of including elements of the original story that I loved and was looking for, but also making it their own. I liked Ariana’s backstory and how her and Sid first meet. I also enjoyed seeing more about Obsidian!
I really enjoyed the Boss x employee aspect of the story! I am a big fan of this kind of forbidden romance. Plus the k¡nk was spot on for me. 👌🏽Really liked how the club came up in the story. I’ll never be upset in going back there lol where’s my beads?! 👀
One thing I will say is that I was not expecting Obsidian to just be so yummy. He is a huge asshole on the other books. But in this book he was very yummy. Generous with the “good girl” and we like that! We like it a lot lol I think I have a pretty accurate rank of all the brothers at this point. But I don’t know if I want to pick since I don’t have to!
I would highly recommend the series if you like fairytale retellings ! You can totally start with this book, but I think you’ll probably enjoy starting from the beginning if like I said you like fairytale retellings. I listen to the audio of this book and it was fantastic. I’m not the biggest fan of the Sebastian York, but I actually really enjoyed him for this main male character! He knocked it out of the park and the Kit Swann was fantastic as well—really love her voice. Overall such a great read!
P. Rayne has really outdone themselves with Twisted Truths. This book is a standout in the series, especially because of the main characters, Obsidian and Ariana.
Obsidian and Ariana are my favorites because they are two flawed people looking for love and acceptance. Obsidian is intense and hides a lot of pain, and he really needed someone who understands him. Ariana, on the other hand, is very loyal and strong, but sometimes her loyalty gets her into trouble. She is perfect for Obsidian because she knows how to handle any situation and stays by his side.
The relationship between Obsidian and Ariana is fascinating. Obsidian loves danger and adrenaline, and Ariana matches his daring spirit. Her trust in him helps break down his emotional walls, making their bond very intimate and in sync. When Obsidian starts to care about Ariana, it's clear that his defenses will eventually fall.
Ariana struggles between her loyalty to her family and her love for Obsidian, which adds an interesting twist to the story. She is charming and determined, making her an endearing character. Their journey together is both thrilling and heartfelt.
Twisted Truths has everything I needed: dark romance, a genuine love connection, and intrigue. P. Rayne’s storytelling and character development make this book a must-read for fans of the genre.
* I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Since I began the series, I have anxiously awaited Obsidian's (Sid) story. There is just something about this quiet, brooding brother that calls to me, and I must say I adored him and am thrilled with how his story played out.
I enjoyed the reimagining of The Little Mermaid in this story. Sid and Ari's chemistry was so strong that although they both tried to fight it, it was stronger than their willpower. Both Sid and Ari keep big secrets from each other. Can their feelings hold true when the truth is revealed? Will they get their HEA, or will their pasts ruin any hope of happiness they thought they could have?
The fourth and last book in the series and can't say goodbye to the Voss brothers!!
This was my first Little Mermaid retelling and P. Rayne slayed with her.
When Ariana Clark saves a man in the beach from drowning, she for sure wasn't prepared that he was the billionaire Obsidian Voss However, when her dad lands himself in trouble the only way to fix it is using the same billionaire. She is there so steal from this man, and definitely not to fall for him. Under no circumstances she can't get involved with Obsidian Voss, but which each passing day she start to fall for him.
Obsidian was definitely curious for me character from the first book in the series, and now reading his story and his issues that he hase I definitely understand him better. Now that he meet Ariana ,she for sure show me that she is the perfect match for him in every way. She definitely open his eyes and show him that he deserv to be loved, despite his childhood trauma and constantly hinting that he isn't incapable of love or to be loved. But now as they connect ,Ariana passt show up and start secrets and lies to come to the surface.
As I say this book is captive, filled with passion and so damn spicy scene that P.Rayne is master of writing them 🤭definitely looking forward for more amazing story's to comes and once again to be captived by them.

Ariana has always been drawn to the water & when she notices someone drowning in the ocean while surfing, Ariana doesn’t think twice to save him. The catch is that she ends up saving Obsidian Voss, a billionaire who lives at Midnight Manor. Ariana’s father & brother have lived their lives at con artists & have gotten themselves into some trouble. Ariana has escaped that life till now where she will do anything she can to protect her father & brother. Her plan is to work for Obsidian as his secretary to secretly steal some expensive objects to sell for cash to help dig her brother & father out of their hole. However, Ariana did not plan to fall for Obsidian which throws a wrench to her plan.
It’s so bittersweet that this series is finally over! I have read the arc’s for every book in this series & have truly enjoyed every single one of them. Obsidian is such a tortured soul & who couldn’t blame him with the family he was given?! Ariana helped bring him happiness & allowed him to open up & break down his walls. I loved all of the cameos of the Voss brothers & their significant others throughout this one! I am so excited to see what P. Rayne has in store for us in the future!
Twisted Truths is the final, full-length novel in the Midnight Manor series and this duo definitely delivers it perfectly.
As with all the other books, this is a fairytale re-telling and this was my first one of The Little Mermaid. It can be easily read as a standalone but these books are so much better read in order as you get to the know the Voss brothers.
Ariana is now trying to live an honest life, one she never really had growing up and working with her father and brother as con-artists. However, when she finds out that her father has put their lives in danger by promising money he can never deliver on, she finds herself back in her old shoes again.
Sid has always been the most mysterious brother out of the four of them. He's there but we never get to really know much about him except he's quiet and keeps to himself. In this book, we get to see why and have a better understanding of this brooding man. Also - I got the tiny hint they threw in the book and it makes me love this man even more for it.
These ladies definitely upped the spice and naughtiness in this one and I loved it as it suited the relationship between Sid and Ariana. It was great to see things develop between Sid & Ariana in a natural way, giving readers more to their story.
A fabulous ending to this series and one I highly recommend reading!
the 4th and final book in the midnight manor series follows obsidian and arianna. obsidian is the 4th boss brother who believes he isn’t worthy of love and after disappearing for weeks and a close call with death is saved by arianna on the beach. the only problem is he can’t remember who it was, even when arianna comes to work for him. she knows exactly who he is though and is there to steal from the voss family to pay off her father’s debt. this is a little mermaid retelling so you can already see the little moments from the little mermaid playing and i loved it a lot.
the instant connection between the two characters was so inevitable and i loved it. i always love when a mmc finds the girl he is going to be with and becomes obsessed with her until she’s his. it just does it for me.
this is a fast burn spicy romance with loads of hot moments between the characters that everyone will absolutely love! i genuinely couldn’t put this book down and couldn’t get enough of this story. this is how i’ve felt with every book in this series and highly recommend everyone read this!!
every book in this series has been a solid 4 start read for me and the series overall is 4 stars!
read this if you love: 🧜🏻♀️ little mermaid retelling 🧜🏻♀️ gothic vibes 🧜🏻♀️ dark romance 🧜🏻♀️ secret society
thank you p. rayne and valentine pr for this arc 🫶🏻
As I was awaiting this book, I was also getting so sad that this is the last book in the series. I mean it literally when I haven’t gotten this excited for every release for a series like this year maybe last year too, I show off to my friend when I get this book, cause she gets jealous and I love it! That might be half the reason I love it, but I also love how this series, and especially this book, balances a great romance story with some dark themes. Dark romance is not my vibe, I can like some, I’ve loved some, but I only seek them out when they are by my favorite authors. So when I say I’d recommend this series to anyone who loves romance books, I mean it.
I’ve been waiting for Sid’s story since the beginning and learning that it’s Little Mermaid themed? I wanted it immediately, that’s a fairytale theme I hadn’t read before, and honestly it was so good! Sid and Ariana have amazing chemistry, that instant connection where they can’t ignore each other and they are always focused on one another. They both have similar backstories that helps them connect on an emotional level, and I think the end, with Sid and his brothers really showcases how much true love can overcome. Forgiveness is a choice, and it’s one that shouldn’t be taken lightly, but should always be considered!
While I’m sad that this series is over, I can’t wait to see what comes next!
Such a great ending to the series! I had such a great time with this book and this series as a whole! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
This last book in the series was highly anticipated for me as Obsidian had always intrigued me 👀 dark and broody and just so closed off. I was excited to see what he was about. P. Rayne and Obsidian did not disappoint with his and Arianna’s story. 💗 I loved the forbidden boss/employee aspect, and loved seeing Sid open up about so much that he’s kept bottled up that was continually damaging him inside.
This series is based off of different fairytale retellings, and in this one I loved seeing all the little nods to The Little Mermaid. It was one of faves growing up, and I loved seeing that weaved into their story. ☺️
I had the audio for this, and it was fantastic. All of the books in this series were done so well on audio, with them being done in duet style, it made them so much more enjoyable in my opinion! Sebastian York and Kit Swann narrated this and they were amazing together. Totally recommend!!
This was a really fun series overall to read and I highly recommend it to my dark romance lovers who enjoy gothic and dark secret society romances with a fairytale twist! 💕
Tropes: 💗 secret society 💗 fairytale retelling (The Little Mermaid) 💗 boss/employee 💗 gothic/dark romance 💗 obsessed mmc 💗 “oh you’re asleep? we should sexy time” 🫦😉 💗 billionaire mmc 💗 age gap 💗 close proximity
Twisted Truths by P. Rayne is the fourth/last book in the Midnight Manor series. This is a The Little Mermaid retelling and it was well done. I absolutely love this series and this might be my favorite one. The characters and storyline was so good! I devoured this entire book. I could not stop reading. The Little Mermaid elements woven into this dark billionaire romance was amazing. The romance and spice was also so great! I am so sad this series is over!
Ariana was a sweet, loyal, and intelligent FMC. I love how she will do anything for the people she loves even when they don’t deserve it. Obsidian is my favorite brother. He was a mystery throughout the series. His character development throughout this book was so amazing. Watching him realize that he deserves love and is nothing like his father warmed my heart. I loved him and Ariana! They had such great chemistry and I loved watching them fall in love. The plot line was also really interesting. I had to keep reading to see how Ariana will get her family out of debt with Uma. This was such a fun, spicy, dark romance! I highly recommend this book and the entire Midnight Manor series!!
Did the dark romance duo of P. Rayne end their magnificent Midnight Manor series on the same high note as when it started? You bet they did with Twisted Truths, the fourth and final book in this enthralling saga. Each story in this series has been imbued with a fairy tale theme, and P. Rayne concludes with a dark and steamy take on "The Little Mermaid."
This series has not only captivated readers with its tantalizing romance but also with a gut-wrenching thread that has profoundly affected each of the brothers differently. In Twisted Truths, we delve into the life of the broody and enigmatic Obsidian. The authors have truly upped the ante with the emotional depth of his story, making this conclusion extra special.
Getting under the layers of Obsidian's complex character is no easy feat, but boy, was it worth it. Ariana proves to be the perfect partner for him. Despite their brief interaction months prior, a twist of fate ensures that Obsidian never saw Ariana’s face. As they reconnect, secrets and lies come to the surface, their undeniable passion culminating in a fantastic ending.
P. Rayne masterfully weaves delicate moments inspired by "The Little Mermaid" into a dark and captivating narrative, making Twisted Truths. a must-read. Bravo to the authors for delivering a memorable and fitting conclusion to an unforgettable series.
This is the fourth and final book in this amazingly addictive book series called Midnight Manor. In this book we finally get to know the mysterious Voss brother Obsidian aka Sid and he actually might be my favourite of the brothers and by ending this series was perfect. Only sad part right now is that the series is over.
All four books are dark romance with fairytale retelling and in this part the fairytale is The Little Mermaid.
The story is well written with some spicy scenes that was really hot (was blushing at multiple times) and the characters was easy to like and wanna get to know them on a deeper level plus the character developments was so good. So basically it is everything I could have asked for.
I recommend this book to all dark romance lovers but also to those of you that is curious about the genre just like me but you should be 18+ to read this one and the other books in the series 😍.
I'd say this little mermaid inspired retelling is definitely a 4.5 star read for me. I loved Obsidian and Ariana were characters with strong facades that masked some of their more interesting qualities. Obsidian was well worth the wait as he is battling his own self destructive tendencies. Ariana may seem innocent and youthful but she can secretly swindle people making her a valuable asset to dangerous associates of her father's. She held a lot of patience dealing with Sid but also enough guilt I truly felt she was forced into deceiving him. I loved they shared some similar traumas and were able to relate on an emotional level because they seemingly had no issues in the bedroom. There are fantastic spicy scenes in this book which are staples of this whole series. I also loved the little mermaid retelling felt like it took a lot of the best elements of the fairytale but wasn't literal and presented a uniquely memorable story
I'm clearly in my fairytale retelling phase! A little mermaid retelling this time, although I didn't really see much of that pull through. This is an interconnected standalone and the final book in the Midnight Manor series. I'd say these are entry level dark romance, as someone who would enjoy contemporary romance would also enjoy these books.
We follow the story of Ariana and Obsidian, Obsidian being the final brother to get his HEA. We have the FMC who is a sweet little thing with an underlying darkness and Obsidian is your standard broody billionaire, although my heart hurt for him throughout this book.
Ariana pulls a job to help her father and brother with none other than Obsidian, thinking it would be an easy gig, until she realised that her and Obsidian were drawn inexplicably to each other. Lots of past trauma to heal from, plenty of twists and turns and some good ol' spice. A great read.
