I'm a poet and a writer from Central New York. My work consists of affirmations, quotes and poems of the divine nature. My work tells my story, it conveys each step I’ve taken in my journey towards personal freedom. My books are dedicated to my lovely girlfriend Alaina, who helped me see my worth and grasp the meaning of unconditional love. Growing up I always felt the call to do something beyond the “norm”; to follow my heart regardless of what others told me. Beneath everything, I find myself called to put out my message and my “heart-song”. It's very easy to forget that life is completely subject to each individual choice made, and these writings helped me to grasp the potential of trusting my true self.
My Heart as the Map is a collection of verses and poetry that inspires and motivates the reader to find their peace of mind, their love and to see the positives in everything around us. The word is changing, changed and will continue to change.
I am such a fan of this incredibly talented writer. His beautiful poetry speaks right to my soul. I will definitely buy more of his books as his words can be read over and over again, touching the reader in different ways each and every time.
Amazing Poems. Poems that I liked: You are perfect, Worth the wait, Release my heart, Entice, This flame, Hide, Becoming the ocean, Candle light, Sovereignty, The truth, Like Birds, Layers, The Immortal, Moment, Love in all, Dream signs, In The Light, Love The Standard,
With all the nonfiction Christian books I’ve been reading/reviewing for almost 1½ years, if not more; it’s a wonder why I haven’t tired from reading scripture. But the truth is I have. I need to read something which will cause me to reflect on the beauty of life, I need to read something like poetry to help fill the void of a different sort of spiritual fulfillment that only it can provide.
Author Matt Buonocore in “My Heart as the Map”, his book of poetry does a marvelous job of providing this much needed salvation from the abyss many of us have fallen into. While this book doesn’t contain any scripture reflection, it is fraught with verses that yields another kind of spiritual growth. Like any kind of book of poetry, to reap the full effect of what it has to offer, its readers can’t rush through the book in one sitting which is quite easy to accomplish. Each poem, sometimes as brief as two lines, needs to be read slowly and followed by a serene reflection/meditation of what has been reed.
The myriad of lines contained here Paint a vivid picture of something that’s to us is quite dear. The picture is never the same for all who read this For the individual reader finds their own bliss. Which then leads to their spiritual growth Something they can never deny, even under oath. Splendor in their hearts and minds is the ultimate result That can be exist in any religious cult.
For wanting his readers to experience their own spiritual journey to find the fire that glows inside them as they leave their earthly souls unfettered, I’ve given Mr. Buonocore 5 STARS.
New York poet Matt Buonocore affirms his impact as a seer whose goal is ‘to provide a new vibratory experience to guide the reader toward spiritual growth.’ He has published fifteen volumes to date, and after reading this newest collection of his poetry, it is likely the reader will seek his earlier collections also.
Matt’s words are delivered as brief moments of introspection and warm thoughtful suggestions that share his concern for our spiritual growth. A few examples follow:
Entice
Your heart’s desire is waiting to be claimed, it is not a place or thing but a feeling. It is this etheric nature that pulls you forward. It entices you into the void, it calls you to surrender.
Compassionate Action
Be the cure to a world in terror. The contagion can never win, although it can trick you if you listen to the voice of fear. Ground yourself, this is a time to reconnect with the earth and mother Gaia. Compassionate action will heal the world, And it starts here at this moment.
In Need
We are all human Compassion is needed in these times Serve those in need
The concern conveyed in Matt’s thoughts and messages is palpable. Simple statements these may be, but they give rise to empowerment – quietly, gently and meaningfully – so poetically appropriate at this moment in time – and always.
This is a collection of uplifting poetry that reminds us of what and who we truly are. The words are deeply soulful and spiritual. They could be source of strength to someone encountering difficult times. The poems also examine the power of true love, the kind that lasts forever unconditionally. Some of my favorite poems from the collection are: “Becoming the Ocean” which captures how we are all fragments of something so enormous that we cannot fathom it. “Release my Heart” about the true power of love. “The Great Equalizer” about following what is true. And many others such as “Like Birds” and “Submerged.” Of course others may also find their own meanings of interpretations. This is a collection I could envision revisiting time and again to help reconnect with ourselves.
This book is an amazing collection of poetry. The writer draws on nature for much of his inspiration to tie in the beauty of love and spirituality in a persons life. Each page brings great peace to the reader. I thoroughly enjoyed this read and recommend this book to any fan of poetry.
