The Joys of Being Alive is a poetic story of one woman's journey through recovery. The Joys of Being Alive takes listeners through her journey of recovery, learning to love herself and others, friendship, breakups, and more. It is a positive spin on what is sure to be a difficult subject for some. But, most definitely relatable. Please find your Joys of Being Alive in this audiobook.
Beautiful connection between motifs of nature, seasons, and sun’s rays with sensual motifs such as tastes of lips, kiss and skin, all of which: “…find fragments of magic. Granting wishes of the soul.”
And much much more as this:
From: CALLAGHAN’S CURSE: “The world around her Is lit with her magic A fiery soul A meteorite passing through Wind blows beautifully Her strands of hair Do a dance She is bliss And chaos In one…”
I’m thrilled I read Gee’s first book of poetry. I found her work to be relatable, poignant, and simple—in a good way; it’s easy to connect with her themes. Gee’s pieces present a heartfelt look at love, attraction, and affection, and include emotive descriptions of nature and its impact on human wellbeing. GLUE and SOAP are my favourites—they explore themes of identity and loss. This book is beautifully crafted.
Another lovely collection of poems from the author. This collection reads like a celebration of life, from the mundane to the monumental, every detail feels like it's worth relishing. There is so much beauty here in this wonderfully accessable book. It made me feel like every day can be filled with victories and every victory is worth celebrating.
A gift with words that fall like fresh rain on the water.
Bailey is an open soul and a tender heart, as revealed in this book of poems that speak directly to the heart. Her voice is refreshing and light, and will pull you in with the lyrical lilt of an angel song.
I enjoyed reading this lovely poetry book! Its intimate, soul-binding, and mesmerizing! For whatever day I would have, good, bad, or ugly, this book will sure be the medicine and nutrient I need!
This is a deep, meaningful and powerful book with poems that make you think. It reminded me to be more mindful and I can see myself reading it again many times
