Redshift Runners #1

Parallax: A Space Opera Adventure

Rate this book
There is fortune to be made across the stars. If it doesn't kill him first.

When Deadeye, a hotshot space jockey, is captured by pirates, he decides to join the motley group called the Redshift Runners. Maybe they can help him get rich.

These Runners aren’t typical interstellar bandits, however. They risk their lives delivering food and supplies to starving colonies in the outer rim.

Deadeye gains the favor of their captain, Talon, a driven woman whose schemes will lead them to the ancient boundary separating the colonies from mythical Earth—and guarded by Parallax, a mysterious effect that renders the area unnavigable.

Yet the cost of traveling the stars exacts a heavy toll. Due to the mental link with their ships, jockeys gradually lose their memories…and Deadeye risks forgetting everything to satisfy Talon’s ambitions.

I liked the characters you got to know them but there is also more we don't know about them so there is room to grow. Looking forward to the next book.

A really good read

A really good read that after about 2 pages didn't want to put it down. A good story with everything you need to enjoy the read. I like my story's to include mechs, enemies, and hero's but I did enjoy this though different to what I like. Give it a go see if you like it.

Tony Peak’s Redshift Runners: Parallax is a rowdy pirate space adventure with a great cast of characters. One of the aspects of Tony Peak’s novels that I enjoy is the thought and planning he puts into the worlds he creates. Something good always comes at a cost, and in Redshift Runners the theme of sacrifice runs throughout. The pilots surrender their memories to navigate the wormholes, the runners are at odds with the powerful forces that profit from starving colonists and humanity has cut itself off from Earth. This is a fun, fun, fun read but with deeper implications, if you’re willing to look for them.

Great space story

This was a great space story which had interesting characters, even if they were a bit forgetful at times. But that worked for the story, and the action and adventure they went through. I enjoyed the detailed environments, all the character interaction and dialogue, and the book in general. I recommend this book and am glad to see it is part of a series.

Well written and extremely fun. Intensely cinematic, like watching a summer movie with your favorite treat.

good story but needs editing

There were a lot of repeated lines like someone was messing around with copy paste and forgot to delete after. Other than that the story, characterizations, and action were awesome. I really enjoyed reading.

Great Promise but not too engaging

Thought this would be a great.sci fi adventure. Many asoects of the story were really good, exciting slmost to an anticipated level. But, oh yes, but far toomuch unnecessary swearing, an overly boring succession of raunchy sex supposedly moving the stiry firwsrd but sadly serving no real purpose. Is midern sci fi just about umpteen sex bouts snd fiul miuthed expletives? Certainly this autjor thinks so. I can't envisage me buying theithet two books in the serues if the foul mouthed sequences ptedominate them as well. The concept of the nivel is good, thecharacters string enough to carry any goid stiry fireard but oages and oages of unnecessary seearing and oanting sex don't really add anything if vslue ti the novel. Sadly. The writer needs to rethink and rewrite this book enturely befire I will buy book 2 or book3.

A Quick Fast paced Story

This one is a well-written engaging read.
The day to day interaction of the crew
was seam less and kept the people
informed as to what was happening.
I liked this book a lot , 4.5 Stars.
