Reading this series has been a palette cleanser. The truth is this is a series full of warmth and fuzziness, but the storylines are the same over and over again, just told in slightly different ways and to be honest, a bit boring.
The fmcs all have the same weird insecurities, and the writing of these mid to late 30s women is quite immature. I kept thinking I was reading about women in their late teens to very early 20s, the ages just did not fit, even Penny, who's supposed to be 57 is written as a much younger woman.
I think the writer was going for strength, but all I got was weakness. Weakness in their belief of themselves, weakness in their interactions with their men, I mean 2 of the women had men who "disappeared", one kept making excuses for him and the other was perpetually waiting for him! . Another's partner left her behind, came back 10 years later and all was good and forgiven.
I think if you want something that doesn't make you think, has no spice or excitement, or just need a break from heavy books, then this is a good read, but if you're looking for something to intrigue you, don't bother 😉
I feel like this whole series, while good, strayed far from what the original synopsis was. That kind of disappointed me. The sisterhood that they found was good. It just became way less about a book club. 🤷
This was the perfect ending to this series. This story is a clean, wholesome, wonderful romance and a wonderful closing book for this series wrapping up the stories of all the women from the Red Stiletto Book Club. I can't wait for the next and learning about Abigail's story. Hoping she gets her happy ending now.
Maggie is determined to help Spencer and Peggy have their happy ending but is that even possible? If they create a magical Christmas in town and draw them both in, will the magic bring them back together or will Spencer still bear the pain of betrayal with his two daughters?
I loved catching up with all the book club women and getting an update on their stories.
I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.
Much better than the last couple! This book has solidified my dislike in Penny. She’s so whiny. I’m also so confused about Spencer staying in Harmony the entire time between Adventure and Christmas. He just left his home and job? And then stayed somewhere in Rhode Island for how long? Ridiculous 🤣
Lots of chewing on lips, purse shouldering, and other redundant phrases. At least the author is consistent.
I’ve also gotta say. Naomi being knocked up with Walker’s baby while he magically disappears and then the same exact scenario with Sabrina’s baby? I’m convinced Walker and Trevor are the same people.
I like the swift wrap up of everything at the end. Also wasn’t Maggie pregnant literally the entire book? Is that was Anne-Marie was hinting toward?
I completely understand the issue with infertility B U T if this was Maggie’s first Christmas in Magnolia and home girl fell in love, got married, and now she thinks she’s broken after attempting to get pregnant all in less than a year?! Why does everything need to happen at warp speed? Am I missing something?
Anywho there we are. Glad I’m finished with the series.

It's so wonderful seeing everyone's story come to its natural conclusion!! At Christmas!!
Penny & Spencer (Spencer children: Abigail and Sabrina) (Maggie child of Penny) Maggie & Archer (Children: Peter, Baby) (Archer's sister: Clementine) Clementine & Jake (Jake's sister: Shari) Shari & Danny (Shari's children: Tag, Bella) (Child: Baby) (Danny's sister: Victoria) Victoria & Brett Naomi & Colten (Naomi's child: baby boy with Walker) (Naomi's brother: Jackson) Jackson & Fiona (Fiona's child: Blake) Scarlett & Ben
Are you impressed? Lol. You should be! This is a LOT of people to keep track of across 8 books!! The good news is that we get to continue seeing them all through each subsequent book. I am super excited to read Scarlett's story in A Magnolia Kiss as well as see what happens with Abigail in her series!!
This book is the finale of The Red Stilettos Book Club series and it wraps up the series well. Everyone got their happy ending and found closure. I honestly believe that if it wasn’t for Maggie moving to Magnolia back in the first book of the series, none of these characters would have found their true love and the closure they needed to have a better, happier life. And from what I can see from Maggie throughout this book is that she is trying her best to make everyone happy, especially her mom. Although this series has no smut or spicy scenes, it is still a good one to read. All these books are worth reading. It is very cute and wholesome. I look forward to reading the next series, Sweet Tea and Southern Gentleman.
While we get to see and hear about all of the Red Stiletto Book Club ladies this book in my opinion is mainly about Maggie which I love because book 1 was about Maggie. Maggie is determined to have the best Christmas ever and include all he friends, family and the town. We get to get to know Abigail better (she will have her own spin off series). I'll be honest I was still upset with Spencer from book 8 but once again this author shows how everyone needs forgiveness, grace and a second chance. These ladies are amazing but life does get to us sometimes and whispers lies to us. The men are awesome and such great encouragers to their ladies. A really magical book. Looking forward to the first book in the spin off series.
Review: I really enjoyed this book. This book continues wraps up the series and the women’s stories. Maggie wants to make Christmas unforgettable for the guests of the Magnolia Inn. I loved the character development throughout the book. I love the female friendship on this book. This is such cute series. If you love Gilmore girls you will like this series. You get that small town feel and get to know the towns people. I loved how the series ended and can’t wait to read the Harmony Island stories.
Favorite Quote: “Relationships are like a boat. As soon as one leak starts, more are going to show up until all that is left is at the bottom of the lake.”
I’ve really enjoyed reading the Red Stiletto Book Club series! Each book is cute, heartwarming, and easy to dive into. While the plots are definitely predictable, they still deliver a cozy, feel-good vibe that makes them a fun and comforting read. There’s no spice to speak of, but the sweetness and charm more than make up for it.
If you’re someone who enjoys stories about friendship, romance, and happy endings, this series is a great pick—definitely gave me Hallmark movie energy (in the best way). Perfect for when you’re not sure what to read next or you want something light that won’t completely pull you under. A great in-between-books kind of series.
This was my perfect cozy hometown series that fit perfectly between my normal crazy thrillers. I saw someone made a comment about being disappointed that the story veered away from the original "book club" theme. While yes, this story moved away from a book club who actively discusses the books they read, but it also illustrates the bonds that women form through their book clubs whether they read the book or not. It's about community. If your book club isn't a community, I encourage you to read these books and start looking around for a new club to join.
I actually loved this book. The various perspectives instead of the regular two, multiple happy endings wrapping up what I believe is the end of the series. I enjoyed how the author wrote from a variety of age groups instead of just one. But honestly, a round of applause for how clean this series was. Detailed enough so you can feel what the characters feel but no smut was the icing on the cake for me. I will definitely be reading more from this author.
To be honest I’m really only giving this book 4 stars because there are inconsistencies between this book and the first book of the “Sweet Tea and Southern Gentleman” series. The author boasts that you get to enjoy getting the same characters popping up across series which is true but there are some things that don’t match up in the story and it’s kind of irritating. Otherwise this book was good and I feel like it wrapped up the storylines for the characters nicely.
If I had to hear “released the breath I didn’t realize I was holding” one more time. All the cliches were there, I still gave it 3 stars because it was cute, had okay characters, wasn’t too long, and wrapped up nicely but not perfectly.
I know what to expect from Meyer, so I don’t know what made this one sort of lackluster compared to others. It’s a great audiobook with a wonderful narrator, Liz Krane.
Last book in the series. Other than a novella that takes place earlier in the series and is a spin off novella. It was fun seeing a bit more of all the. Pulled in this holiday book. All of the couples that have gotten together were in it even if a couple of them didn’t have more of a glance into their future.
This is the eighth and last book of the red stiletto series. The books are standalones, but interwoven and should be read in order. I really like the stories. But at times they are dragging on with the same thoughts over and over without anything relevant happening. And the insecurities are a bit dramatic. Nonetheless I was invested in the series and will continue with Harmony Island.
this series was the perfect pallet cleanser that I was looking for. towards the end, the storylines started to seem a little repetitive so it was a little harder to get to the end, but I did. some of the characters are from a different town and have their own series. I am interested in seeing how those are. it was a good end to a sweet and fun series.
A really sweet book. I have loved the series and all it’s people. I really don’t want it to be over. There are stories to be told🥰. A wonderful book written by an awesome author.
And it's always good to catch up with them! I'm thinking each one could have another book about them so I could get the details on their lives - lol...
If I have to read the phrase “my entire body” or the word “slipped” one more time….. so help me!
I actually don’t know why I finished the series. The first book was ok, but it’s really gone downhill from there. Boring, predictable, no excitement in the love stories past Maggie and Archer.
This was such a good book! I loved having all the characters come together. I'm so glad we got to see everyone moving forward in life and set up for the future. And everything was wrapped up nicely. I absolutely loved this series!
I gave it my best shot. I’ve read seven of this author’s books and kept hoping for more. I was so disappointed with this one especially. I gave it two stars because I did like Maggie’s trajectory for the most part.
Also, the book club just gave up even trying to read a book.
Cute little book continuing the series to read on a winter break. However, I’m still wondering why they consider this a “book club“ series when there is zero mention of an actual book club, except they are members of it.
This was so cute and really light and easy read. I keep seeing ads for this series pop up and honestly it would be a commitment without knowing if I would like the characters. I can’t wait to go through the stories and learn about each character. It was a sweet way to close out the holiday season.
Whoa what a wrap up.. I still wish there was more! So many people on this series who would be deep dived into more.
This Christmas story or Christmas miracle brings together all the favorite faces and the love of Magnolia! From secret plans to missions from the heart.
#8 in this series, last one except for a novella. I am ready to be done. I still don’t like Spencer & don’t understand what Penny sees in him. Author tends to ramble on in her writing. Next to the novella then done!
Loved this series. I happened to find Anne Marie Meyer on IG and have fallen in love with her style. I keep wanting more and more. I'm excited to move onto the Harmony Island books now!
