It totally does. Instead of counting herself lucky to be alive, Tess struggles to find the will to keep placing one foot in front of the other, especially when the most she ever had to worry about before the meteor catastrophe was whether she’d have a date to prom.
Climbing mountains—again—dealing with the lack of food, clean water, and wondering what the point of it all is doesn’t feel much like luck at all. More like punishment.
Maybe it’d be different if she had Cole by her side, as troublesome and irritating as he could be. But he doesn’t seem to be anywhere, and Tess wonders if he’d ever truly been there in the first place. Her dad and brother don’t buy her story of a lone wolf coming to her rescue, and as things become more and more difficult, she’s slowly beginning to doubt herself, too.
Real? Imaginary? A product of her delusional mind? Cole’s existence—or nonexistence—remains a mystery because this time around, there’s more than just herself and a kitten to take care of. This time, someone vulnerable depends on her strength and bravery more than ever before.
I hear voices. Tiny fictional people sit on my shoulders and whisper their stories in my ear. Instead of medicating myself, I decided to pick up a pen, write down everything those voices tell me, and turn it into a book. I’m not crazy. I’m an author.
For the most part, I write contemporary Young Adult novels. However, through a writing exercise that spiraled out of control, I found myself writing about zombies terrorizing the Wild Wild West—and loving it. My zombies don’t sparkle, and they definitely don’t cuddle. At least, I wouldn’t suggest it.
I live on the benches of the beautiful Wasatch Mountains with two lovely children, one teenager, and a very patient husband. I graduated from Utah State University with a B.A. degree in English, not because of my love for the written word, but because it was the only major that didn’t require math. I can’t spell, and grammar is my arch nemesis. But they gave me the degree, and there are no take backs.
As a child, I never sucked on a pacifier; I chewed on a pencil. I’ve been writing that long. It has only been the past few years that I’ve pursued it professionally, forged relationships with other like-minded individuals, and determined to make a career out of it.
I've been looking forward to this sequel for soooo long, like a couple of years long, so my expectations were extremely high.
So needless to say I was very disappointed when this book didn't offer up some of the closure I was looking for. It felt like a tie-over and filler until book three.
The supernatural mysteriousness surrounding Cole was not explained and no explanations about the cause of the disaster or reason for the environmental changes were given at all either. I felt like we should have been enlightened about something at least, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. : (
That's not cool. Two years is awfully long time. I am gonna miss Tess and her "family" like crazy. Not fair. I need to do multiple rereads before the year 2020 has rolled around. I have questions that needs answers! I'm dying on curiosity!
Wow. I mean we had to wait a long time for this book, I but I definitely feel like it was worth it. I love everything about this series, the characters, the setting, everything, and this book fits right in. No disappointments here.
We start off pretty much where the last book left off, so I only needed to re-read the last few pages, the last chapter, to remember where we left off. And then the story continues on. We meet some new people, and that's fun, but I think mostly, it's amazing how Angela Scott can write such compelling characters. In this book, we meet someone that's obnoxious, someone you don't like in the beginning but come to feel for. The ability to write a character that isn't likable but that you get attached to is something special indeed. And beyond that, we get to follow Tess around and see what she's up to,and watch her struggle with all hell breaking loose.
I feel like I can't say much about the plot beyond that, at least not without spoiler tags, so here's where the legitimate part of my review ends, and the rest will be in spoiler tags because if you haven't read this yet, it would definitely give some things away.
I am so excited to have found this author! This book was just as good as the first in the series. I love TEOTWAWKI books but it seems to be few and far between when I find a really good one that I can’t put down. So many of the Authors in this genre focus more on pushing a certain political agenda rather than focusing on a good storyline. They crank out the same old tired story’s one after another. Just with different character names. Not this author! She came up with a unique and interesting story. It’s not your same old apocalypse. Her books are also well written and her characters have true personalities. I love the humor she injects into this series also. If you’re looking for a good TEOTWAWKI book, look no further! If that wasn’t what you were looking for I’d still recommend giving this series a try. You won’t be disappointed! I can’t wait until the next book in the series comes out!
I have been waiting for this sequel to Anyone? for years and was surprised to see it finally pop up on Amazon after searching for it every few months, and then see it was published quite awhile ago. From the first word this one was a tear jerking, emotional rollercoaster, that I couldn't get off of until the very last word and i am still reeling from the ride. I cried when Tess was in the trees next to the fire and sang along (you'll understand when you get to that part. I found a new camping tool to add to my wishlist. Now I am impatiently waiting for Anyone at All? and hope to see it very soon. Wow and kudos to you Angela Scott. I hope this series is long and stays as amazing all the way thru.
Incredible! Spellbinding! Incredibly well written! The first book was great, but this one was even better. I am hoping so very much there is a 3rd book, and its available soon. Angela Scott & her co-authors have written such a great story. They make you care about the characters. Tess's story is not done being told. Can't wait for another chapter! I don't usually leave reviews but I had to this time. Thank you for such a great read. Pls don't let this be the end!!!
This was honestly a good series. A word of warning; there is a cliffhanger at the end of this book. Also, the author mentioned that they might not have a third book to remedy this. ( Found on their Facebook page.) With that all said; I do suggest reading the series. Their world building is good, and the heroine Tess has matured a great deal in this book. I do hope their is a third book, but sometimes you have to fill in the blanks of a story yourself. Thank you!
I loved this story! Especially the battle in Walmart! (Watch out, spoilers ahead). Nerf guns and knitting needles! My husband thought I was crazy when I started laughing out loud. I can't wait for the continuing story of Tess and Cole (is he a real person?). Is the whole situation real? Can't wait to find out. I rarely give out 5 stars, but something in these past 2 books clicked with me. The characters were so real. Please, we want some more!

Oh my goodness! Oh my goodness, Oh. My. GOODNESS!!! I have to say I waited what felt like FOREVER for this book and it was well worth the wait. I love the mysteries surrounding Cole and Tess has grown so much since the beginning. My only hope now is that I don’t have to wait as long for the next book, I cannot wait to find out what happens next!!!
I, like many other fans, have waited patiently for this book for years. Angela delivered something well worth the wait. Surviving in a post-apocalyptic world seems doable after reading this. I am thrilled that there will be more coming soon, too! Thank you, Ms. Scott, for another great adventure!
Firstly I was so excited for this book. But unfortunately this book didn’t work for me. It was very long and dull. I started reading this book some one months back. Whenever I started reading this book I got bored and jumped into another book. Finally I skimmed read this and finished it. Disappointed.
This is quite a refreshing series, of all the Dystpian/apocalyptic novels I've read this one gave me a completely different experience. My curiosity about Cole is anxiety driven lol, Is Tess dreamimg, lost her sanity, is it more than an age thing between Tests & Cole? So excited to find out how things end!
Absolutely loved the story and cannot wait for the 3rd one to come out. Only disappointment was before the fire in the deserted town. Cole was a master at making things work, so why did he not make something for the baby that could be towed by a bike. There were plenty at Walmart and yet they left on foot lugging heavy backpacks and pushing a stroller.
I’m sorry what was that ending….. I stayed up till 4am to finish this only for it to give absolutely no answers to my questions, honestly I was glued to this 2 book series, I really enjoyed it right up until the end, if there was a 3rd book coming I could understand but there doesn’t seem to be. So frustrating! 4 stars because I loved it but the ending was a cop out.
I didn't think The story of Tess and Cole, would continue after all these years! I am so glad it did!! It gave me an excuse to read the first book again, because it was wonderful and so was this new installment!! I can't wait for more!!
2020??!! You’re killing me. The best series I’ve read in years. I’ve reread the first book, holding off on reading the second for as long as I possibly can. And now that I have I’m so completely excited for the next book! Only a year and a bit to wait...
This is a very well written book. It flows well. With the limited number of characters it was easy to follow. I read book 1 and had book 2 waiting so I could transition straight into it. But where is book 3? Says it was to be available 2020. Bummer I want book 3
I enjoyed this book.It was nice to find out what Tess was up to. I found myself wishing the girlie/teen scenes would end.So much drama. Narration by Shannon Nicole Locke was very good. I'm looking forward to the next segment. I was given this book free for an honest review.
I normally do not read teenager books, but this series was really good. It is just a great pity that too many years past between books being released. The next book is only out 2020 and by then you would have forgotten what happened in the other 2 books.
