Both sisters will be endangered in this story, Jessie will bump her head more than once and Hannah will be followed and disturbed by a killer so obsessed in doing Jessie harm that he wants to kill her sister. The sisters will learn that forgive is a must and that there are no ready replies or explanations to whatever happens in life. Susannah, Jessie's partner in this case, is a tough detective with a difficult past and she has a big mouth and is rude to most people which not always gets results. The story has an interesting plot, it's entertaining, but ends in a cliffhanger. I thank the author for the free copy of this book.
It is amazing and depressing how much of a person’s life can be spent trying to get revenge. Two major plots going on in the book. I do not think it is OK to be rude to anyone, regardless of their station in life, their job, whether they are a plumber, or a politician, or a president. So it’s not OK. But to be angry enough to repeatedly murder seems crazy. And here we are on book 27 and they were still people trying to hurt Jessie, through the people she loves. Who knows. Definitely too much revenge.
This was a fun novel! So many changes and endings and new beginnings about to happen, ...
That crazy, uneasy moment right before a major life change takes place and everything is in limbo as you have no choice but to "wait and see" then follow through accordingly.
Fun, anxious, overwhelming, ... hurry up and wait, ... but then, usually, it works out, ... it theory...
🫣😬🤔
I'm getting closer to the end of the available books in this series. Soon I will just have to wait for the rest of the books!!!
🤯🥺😢
Write faster,Blake! I don't do patient very well... ok. Not at all. 😉
This series is one of my favorites. I normally do not read mysteries, but this series caught me at the very first one and now I have to read them all.
When you open a Jessie Hunt book there is always going to be a crime along with other sub plots revolving around Jessie or her sister Hannah. This book left me feeling like the series is coming to an end, which is sad. These stories are always very riveting and intense. They are also always very fast reads.
This is a series that I would definitely recommend to everyone.
I can’t believe this is book 27 and I still can’t get enough!
A couple of frustrations: the increasing tension between Jessie and Ryan that is just hanging over their relationship and the author is dragging it out, this new “Clone Killer” is going on endlessly and,of course, the ongoing drama of the Zoe threat that has never been fully resolved.
But, as always, an incredible story that drew me right in and never let go.
A series that started out with so much promise is just turning into short stories with recycled characters and plots. Frankly, this book is the weakest one yet. Most of the book is just rehashing prior books and reciting plots and character points over and over. It's book 27, we freaking know what HSS is - the over explanation, mentioned more than once in this book, is totally unnecessary. The brief story they tried to weave into endless backlogging of the prior books was beyond lame. "I'm the PLUMBER"... I don't think my eyes have stopped rolling at that killer catchphrase. The pairing of Jessie and Suzannah, while once written with tension and hostility that was somewhat entertaining, now reads as a slapstick buddy cop duo.
Perhaps I'd like this book more if I actually read it, but I listen to the audio versions. I hate this current narrator with a passion. She reads everything in a choppy, sing song voice. All the women sound like bimbos and the men all sound like 80 year old grumps.
I was expecting a bit more of the profiler doing her thing on this story however, Jessie was only able to profile the following quite right: Sgt Breem and Detective Susannah possibly dating, her sister and Chris datibng. While for the plumber killer who started the killings in The Strand... well..
I’m shocked this series hasn’t been read that widely. It’s a great series with some solid characters and the books are short and action packed. The storylines are still unique this far into the series.
Jessie Hunt is still my hero but I think it's time I added Hannah! The Perfect People was a good read I enjoyed the mystery. Hannah has become a crime solver in her own right!
– A hostess of big Malibu beach party is found dead in her home and Jessie Hunt is assigned to the case. As she investigates the case, she discovers that the killer is stalking big beach parties and killing the hostesses. Her mission is to stop the killer before he finds another victim. At the same time, another killer that is a threat to Jessie, her friends and family is still on the haunt and determined to make Jessie suffer.
This Mark Haddonfield guy who thinks he is smarter than Jessie Hunt has to stop. This Clone Killer is getting tiresome. I am anxious for some other person for Jessie and Hannah to deal with. This Killer makes no sense to me. He is upset with Jessie because she quit teaching to go back to the LAPD and help them and now, he thinks killing people she saved makes him smarter. I love Jessie Hunt and I know she has people always trying to kill her or make her pay for one reason or another, but I get tired of her getting hurt and she doesn't get to spend quality time with her gorgeous husband Ryan. Now that Hannah is going to school maybe they will be able to solve some of their trust issues. We know they both love each other because they have both been through so much to be together as partners and mates. This is the story of Jessie and Susannah Valentine trying to solve the murder of the person who was killing rich woman in the Manhattan Beach Department precinct area. The murderer is killing rich women who are throwing these beach parties. The person is going in and trying to strangle the woman in front of all the people at the party in front of everyone and then comes back out of costume and waits in their bedroom to murder them. I love Jessie Hunt and I always stop to read her next book and I guess she will be able to have quite a few as long as Blake Pierce can think of situations to have her in. Keep writing I will keep purchasing these books and reading them because I love Jessie Hunt Psychological Suspense Thrillers
