If curiosity killed the cat...should we thank curiosity?
Everyone who knows Veronica "Roni" Walker understands there is one thing she does not play about, Halloween. After back-to-back years of subpar celebrations with her friends, Roni opts to do something totally different to cap off the spooky season. Like booking a solo, weekend stay at a haunted bed & breakfast, different.
The Glosbe Grove Inn is a once storied hotel near Maryland's Chesapeake Bay. Its growing popularity in recent years has nothing to do with its history, but rather the rumored spirit that has cursed the surrounding land for the better parts of eight decades. Roni is one of the latest to travel deep into Southern Maryland, for the chance to see the haint known as Captain Cross.
Unlike other guests, however, her curiosity sparks something dormant within the Captain. Something sure to give her exactly what she is looking for. An experience far beyond any she could ever imagine.
Halloween is to Roni what Christmas is to me! Show me a person that takes Halloween more serious than Roni and I’ll finally introduce you to boo-boo the fool 😂. Roni did not play about Halloween 👻🎃 and after her mundane celebrations with friends in years past, Roni secured a reservation at the Glosbe Grove Inn and is ready for a spooky good time!
Roni like others is hoping to cross paths with the HHIC (Head Haint in Charge) Captain Cross himself! He should’ve been called Captain Hook the way he had Roni around there carrying on 😅😏.
Roni and her nosiness had her researching the Captain and you know what they say about curiosity… let’s just say that the cat was murdered and we “haint” talking about the animal 😈. After the way Roni was worked over, I only have one questions… is the Glosbe Grove Inn currently accepting reservations for 2025🙃!
Wesleigh smoked the narration per usual and I absolutely enjoyed this spooky novella as my introduction to Jsin Graham. 3.5💫’s
Now… I went into COMPLETELY blind because I had not a clue what I was getting myself into at first. And I’m not even mad at it. Spice with a ghost?? I could be convinced. My problem is this is a novella that should probably be a full length novel because I need to know more about the history, I need to be invested in these characters, is there potential for romance? Idk it wasn’t bad and the spice was spicy, uhm but there were some hard to follow parts like things didn’t fully add up and that’s okay I guess.

Idk how this author made “making love to a ghost” sound so beautiful but that shit was hot lol! Roni, out FMC definitely went against black code the entire time in this book because no way in hell was I standing around looking when street lights busted and something/somebody that’s not there touching me 😂
This was definitely something different. There’s no way to adequately describe it without giving the story away. I’ll just say it’s hot. Pair it with the audio and you’re in for a treat!
I loved this! It was so mysterious and suspenseful! I’m glad his identity was revealed to her. I wish we could get more of the two of them, deepening their connection.
Roni did her research and got wayyyy more than she desired from her Halloween trip! All i could picture was ol girl from scary movie getting fcked by that ghost but this was way more sensual!! Loved it!!
