He's worth millions, but he's worthless without her. It's been a month since her traumatic break-up with Derick, and Siobhan now lives in Detroit, where she can support herself and her painting career. But suddenly Derick's back after flying halfway across America for her. And though Siobhan's body comes alive at his touch, she doesn't know if she can trust him again....
Elizabeth Hayley is actually “Elizabeth” and “Hayley,” two friends who love reading romance novels to obsessive levels. This mutual love prompted them to put their English degrees to good use by penning their own. They learned a ton about each other through the process, like how they clearly share a brain and have a persistent need to text each other constantly. They live with their husbands and kids in a Philadelphia suburb. Thankfully, their children are still too young to read.

Ugh! This installment, book 2 in the trilogy, was not worth reading in my opinion. There is no plot, zero romance (lots of sex though), and no growth in Siobhan. She is as self-centered as ever and never works to resolve problems, instead choosing to run away from them.
I recommend you only read the last 3 chapters (a grand total of 6 pages) as it is the only part of the book worth reading. The rest is essentially sex scenes intermingled with meanderings on Derick traveling from New York and whether Siobhan will ever move back there. There really is no storyline to this one. Read the last 6 pages and you’ll know the latest incident that Siobhan is incensed over and you’ll finally understand why this series is named The Diamond Trilogy. I hate to be so harsh but this just wasn’t up to par; I’m hoping the last book redeems this Bookshots trilogy.
Well second book in out of three and it’s such a toxic romance—in a good way?! Derick is so overbearing and suffocating but he hasn’t really done anything wrong aside from just show his over abundance of love. Maybe that’s what happens when your a billionaire and you fall hard for someone?! I’m clearly unsure 😂.
Siobhan is really high up on the annoying scale. Breaking up, getting back together—repeat multiple times. The guy is just tryna show his love by buying you things, I mean there are worse things, right?!
I’m actually excited to read the third book because now I think the roles are going to be reversed and Derick is gonna get to throw some shade.
Ok I'm done. I picked this up because I was curious after how bad the first one was but now I'm done. I'm tapping out. I am not passing go. I am not collecting 200 dollars. Nope. Done. If I could give 0 stars I would but Goodreads just isn't as harsh as I am apparently.
Oh Derick...haven't you learned your lesson by now? How can someone so intelligent be so clueless??? Come on man!
Not willing to accept that things between them are over Derick heads to Detroit to try to win back Siobhan. I was glad things seemed to be working out for them, because for all his cluelessness Derick really is a sweetheart! But the back and forth with Siobhan did start to wear on me a bit- I wasn't sure if I wanted her to stop waffling and just make a decision one way or the other, or for Derick to finally just say enough. But then Derick had to go and be Derick and potentially screw things up on a permanent basis. Derick, Derick, Derick...have you not learned anything in these past couple of months?!? You may be completely swoony but you still have much to learn young grasshopper. Now I'm off to see if you've finally seen the error of your ways...
This is the second book of the Diamond Trilogy. I loved the first book, Dazzling. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for this book. The story became "how many places can we have sex" instead of having an actual plot. The plot was sort of there, but buried under gallons of semen. The characters went from interesting to flat. Everything I liked about the first book was gone from this installment. I am really having mixed feelings about whether or not to read book 3.
Title: Radiant Author: Elizabeth Hayley Publisher: BookShots Series: Diamond Trilogy # 2 Reviewed By: Arlena Dean Rating: Four Review:
"Radiant" by Elizabeth Hayley
My View:
All I can say is that this read had me coming and going and coming and going again! Now, why was this? I am not sure who I felt sorry for Siobhan Dempsey or Derick Miller. In my wildest dreams I a thought that Derick really cared for Siobhan but by the end of this read I simply wasn't sure! It was definitely a fact that he had an horrible obsession with her that was beginning to scare the heck out of me. Derick seemed to not be able to keep doing things behind Siobhan's back that surely she would find out about it all in the end. Was he that clueless? Will he ever learn or just say enough of this? Now as for Siobhan will she ever stop all of this and make a decision and stick with it? Oh well I guess we will just have to see what will happen in the next 'Diamond Trilogy # 3.' Both of these characters really have something going on for them but will this ever happen with what keep breaking them apart. What was up with this man that he thought he could buy her...through buying all of her paintings? Will Derick ever learn Siobhan doesn't want him interfering with her life even though he is a billionaire and had all the money? I can understand the love Derick has for Siobhan but the way he keep repeating the same old thing [following and buying her] is getting old. So, I guess we will have to tune into the next read to see how this story will turn out.
I enjoyed part 2 of the Diamond Trilogy but not as much as the first. This seemed more of an erotic novel rather that a romance. I do enjoy how the sex scenes are written tastefully and are not pornographic. I'm still loving the characters but i definitely thought Derick would've learned his lesson by now. I guess I'll find out what happens in part 3.
I loved this shirt story about a couple reunited and giving love a second chance. I haven't read the first one, which I plan on doing. It's great fast read and really pulls you in.
Radiant was another well written, consuming, and utterly mesmerizing read by Elizabeth Hayley. This continuation of Siobhan and Derick's story was one that I could not put down, and through every word, and every turn of that page, I was pulled in more and more to their intense and all-feeling love story. Told through Elizabeth Hayley's spectacular writing, Radiant was a continuation of everything I fell in love with in the first part of this trilogy. With a love story that I couldn't get enough of, and more twists and turns than you can shake a stick at, Radiant was a fast paced, completely enrapturing story of the tenacity of a love that can't be fought.
This story picks up a month after the last book, with Siobhan living in Detroit after ending things with Derick. From the very first page of this story it is obvious that that connection and feelings those two share is still very much alive, as much as Siobhan might try to fight them. As much as Siobhan might try to fight what she feels for Derick, Derick is not one to forget what they share and is ready to show Siobhan exactly what he'll do to get her back. From the very beginning of this trilogy I could feel the alluring pull of those two, and this second installment heightens all of that tenfold. What Derick and Siobhan share in Radiant is more heated, more sensual, and more real as their feelings deepen, and as they prepare for what comes next for them both.
Filled to the brim with twists and turns, and the most blush inducing heat, Radiant follows Derick and Siobhan as they see what could be, and as they see what might happen if they give it all a go again. Their story definitely isn't easy, but the fight those two have for one another and what they share bursts from every page in a way that will have you feeling it all with them as they give it all a second chance. This second part to their story just invested me more and more in what they were sharing, and the way that Elizabeth Hayley pulled me into these characters and their intense connection had me rooting for them with all that I had.
I think what I loved most about Radiant was the perfect balance it had of being a quick paced read, while also giving me such a depth with these characters. This chapter in Derick and Siobhan's story deepened my understanding and love of them both, and allowed me to see so much more about them, their passions, and why things were the way they were with them. Elizabeth Hayley does a phenomenal job of giving you more with these characters that heightens everything they're sharing, while also keeping the overall pacing of the story itself on fire. It's that outstanding pacing, coupled with the depth of feeling these two share, and their intense connection that combines to make a story you won't soon forget.
Siobhan is just as fiery and fantastic as she was in Dazzling. What I loved about her character was how strong she was, how much she fought for what she wanted, and how passionate she was about her art. That passion swept its way through every single moment with her, and it just solidified how much I loved her and everything she brought to this story. Derick was once again as swoon worthy as ever in Radiant, and the more I got with him, the more I knew these two needed to find a way to make it all work. What I loved about Derick was that that man's tenacity knew no bounds, and his heart was so completely endearing. What he felt, he wasn't afraid to show, and the way he brought those feelings, that desire, and every ounce of determination to the story felt beyond right in every single way.
Everything I got with these two in this part of their story pulled me into them more, and I can't wait to see what the last chapter brings them. I need more with them like I need my next breath, and Elizabeth Hayley completely brought that out with every fantastic word in Radiant. This second installment in this trilogy continues what Elizabeth Hayley so phenomenally created in Dazzling. Through every sparkling word of this story, I loved and felt everything that Derick and Siobhan shared with one another. Through every emotional twist and turn I was with them, and I truly can't wait to get back with them both.
This was an exceptionally written, all-consuming, and spark filled read that I could not get enough of! I truly can't recommend this series enough, and I am telling you, you need them in your life this second!
James Patterson stated he wanted to write romantic stories. Including love between 2 characters. I felt this was a book about sex and lust between the 2 characters. This might be what some people call romance but it wasn't to my liking so will try to research a little better before purchasing a book online.
So this book follows immediately after book one (With some space between the characters) so if you haven't checked out my review, be sure to go to read Dazzling first!
I was really hoping that the second book would have gotten better, but it seemed to be the exact same thing over and over again...
I do think that Siobhan started to grow a bit more as a person with her own dreams of being this great artist, but was so in her head about a lot of things.
Overall, this wasn't my favourite read, and honestly I'm going to power through the last one since I have it already, but I just wish there was more to the story than what there really was.
The continuing story of Siobhan Dempsey and Derick Miller, as begun in “Dazzling,” the first book in this quick-read BookShots trilogy. Siobhan has broken up with Derick and fled to Detroit where she is beginning to find success with her art. Some of her fellow artists are celebrating success in saving an abandoned building on which a beautiful mural has been painted. And then Derick shows up . . . .
The Cinderella-esque beginning to the trilogy and the opening plotline for this continuation, centering on the artists and the mural on the abandoned building, held promise for the series. But this tale rapidly becomes lackluster and plotless, offering little more than far-too-graphic ad nauseam sex scenes. There’s no romance, no witty dialogue, no real story unless readers consider Siobhan and Derick having sex a sufficient storyline. The sparkle of the first volume is missing. After a promising start in “Dazzling,” this installment is a major disappointment.
I'm not even sure what I just read. Not realizing this was a second book, I checked it out from the library and started listening to it. Thinking I just missed the meeting of these 2 and their first up-down part of their relationship, I decided to just keep listening. This was a sorry excuse for a "romance". I wish someone would've told me it was another one of those erotic short stories. There was not any substance to the two main characters. I never once felt any love between the two.
I would have given this book 1 star but that rating is reserved for books I don't finish. I will NOT read any of the other books in this trilogy!!
You think Derick would have learned after the first book, but no. I am not even rooting for these two. I like that one reviewer said just read the last six pages. It’s the truth. This book was all sex and no story. This couple needs to have communication. Oh well. I already bought the third installment so on to the next one.
So the first book wasnt too bad but the 2nd wasnt as good, didnt have the same vibe.
Started to feel that Derick is quite a control freak and seems slightly stalkerish and controlling but Siobhan cant see that - dont think its good way for a relationship to be.
Will of course have to read #3 to finish the series.
This book picks up about a month after from where the last one leaves off.
Siobhan has moved to Detroit. Derek is missing and wanting her back in his life. Derek tracks her down and ask her for another chance.
Siobhan can be a bit..I donr know how to explain it. Just accept a gift and stop being a martyr at times. A lot of times when they are together Siobhan and Derek get along and there is a ton of hot sex. If you don't like to read that then skip this series. There are ups and downs to their relationship as people get to know each other. In a way I find myself thibking this is like the fifty shades series less the BDDM aspect.
Not sure what to expect in the last book but I do have my theories and can't wait to get. It from the library to see if I was right
Once more, the writing team of Elizabeth Hayley did a tremendous job with Siobhan and Derick’s story. She’s your typical starving artist who doesn’t want to accept help and Derick is your classic billionaire playboy who can’t help but to swoop in and save the day. Both characters have been created as down to earth, real people that anyone can relate to. While reading, you will forget that Derick is worth millions and not your everyday Joe. You’ll also forget that you’re not friends with them but instead a person reading a book! I can’t wait to see where Elizabeth Hayley take this series when Exquisite (Book 3 in this series) is released on January 3, 2017.
Ugh Siobhan is really starting to drive me nuts. Derick is as close to perfect as you can find in any man and yet whenever he does something she doesn't like, she throws a colossal fit and dumps him. Every.damn.time. It's making me crazy. I hope in the last book (which I've already ordered), for once she has to fight for him for a change. So far, she is bringing nothing but baggage to this relationship.
That said, even as mad as I get at Siobhan, she and Derick are smoking hot together which is why I'm being generous and giving this four stars.
The first two books in the Diamond Trilogy have not been my favorite Bookshots thus far. While the series has been entertaining, Book 2 was not very original and seemed like a repeat of Book 1, Dazzling. This is a love story between billionaire Derek Miller and artist, Siobhan Dempsey. I liked the characters but they never seem to learn from their experiences so this was a frustrating read. I will definitely read Book 3 to finish the trilogy and hope for a different ending next time.
Honestly I love the story... but I can't help but want a full length 300 page version. It just seemed too short, which is the point of Bookshots... but I still need more time for character development. I will definitely still finish the trilogy and I do recommend this for ppl who like Sylvia Day and E.L. James.
I really enjoyed reading this book, it's the 2nd book in the series. I will be reading the follow-up book. One of the things I enjoy is what they call book shot, you can read it in a couple of hours. I will not talk about book because of it being so short. I will say if you like love stories than this series of books are for you..
The story is good, but Siobhan’s feminist bullshit ruins it. She has a man who loves her & wants to be with her, but she constantly sabotages it. Her refusal to check her pride at the door & drop the feminist shtick is annoying. I’m only reading the third one because I hope that she ends up alone & Derick finds a deserving woman.
not one of my favourite bookshots but picked up at a second hand shop, took less than an hour to read but as I had not read the first book in the series was a little disconcerting to find myself in the middle of a story without an end.(,kind of like the old time magazines that used to run a serial and you missed a week), easy to read but not exactly intellectually challenging
