Second Chances

"You really think it was real? Like it was actually you and me?"

He put an arm around her

"Yeah. I really do."

"Do you like me?" It was one of those questions that just kind of blurted out without her thinking about it

He smiled at her

"There is something I have to tell you but...I don't know how."

Kia's smile fell

"Whatever it is you can tell me."

"In our last lives we were married and I loved you. I remember that. It's ridiculous for two people who have only known each other for a few days to feel something like love for each other. I don't even know if you feel what I feel. It's not a new feeling it's an old feeling. It's always been there but, Kia, I love you."

"It is stupid. Like really stupid, but I feel like I've been waiting a million years to hear that. I love you too."

Kia was tormented by chaotic nightmares. They were always the same. She was in the woods. She was being chased but she always heard him calling for her. She didn't know who he was or what he looked like but she knew she needed him.
