Before the coma that ended his mission, Chris Thomas was a nobody....
But now he holds the secret of the Adamic Code. And it’s a secret the order will kill for.
When Chris uses the Adamic Code to create a revolutionary artificial intelligence known as Max, he gets the world’s attention, but fame’s not all he thought it would be.
Working side by side with the beautiful and brilliant Leah, Chris soon finds himself caught up in a web of lies and manipulations as a secret society plots to take control of the Max Al and the world.
Against all odds, he must cooperate with the CIA to stop the Order from destroying most of humanity with an unthinkable weapon.
Outgunned and out of time, Chris and a team of assassins form a long-shot plan to take down the enemy.
Can they use the Max Al to stop the Order before it's too late?
If you love Gregg Luke, Stephanie Black, James D. Prescott, and A. G. Riddle, you'll love The Adamic Code by new LDS suspense writer C. T. Knudsen.
This book begins as almost-vignettes of unconnected lives that gradually come together. The book overlaps Cain (as in the son of Adam who killed his brother Abel), with Knife (a special ops military man) and Chris (an average American from Oregon). Chris has a near-death experience that opens up part of his brain and takes him from struggling with math to seeing math equations in his periphery vision all the time. The book may appeal more to people who have some familiarity with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints since there are some themes that will be recognizable however, being LDS is not a pre-requisite to following the themes. There is substantial violence, since it's a war-style book. Some of the violence is typical for war books/movies, while some is more graphic sacrificial-style. This may be off-putting to some readers.
My husband recommended this book to me. I read it in a day. I just couldn’t put it down. The beginning starts a bit slow with three seemingly separate story lines but once they converge I was on the edge of my seat. It’s also clear the author researched quite a bit to put this book together. I fact checked the facts presented in the prologue and was a little surprised by what was there and that it all checked out. Without giving too much away, the government is a scary thing and I’m not even a conspiracy theorist. The end did seem a bit rushed for how slowly things got started, but that didn’t detract from how much I enjoyed it.
The author gives you fair warning in the introduction that this may be a bit graphic. I guess I wasn’t prepared for what that meant. He stages it in the fact that there are evil people in the world that do this stuff. It just took me by surprise. Overall this book is incredible. Grandpas rules alone are worth a ton of consideration. Well done. Purchased book 2 already and can’t wait to read it!
The evil parts were very real. It almost caused me to put the book down and delete it from my phone. I hated that evil feeling. Only an excellent writer can convey such horrible feelings through his words. The very last part of the ending, after the main character married, was too simple. By simple I mean quick and easy, and didn't seem written by the same author. Otherwise, the book was definitely a good read!
This was one of the most incredible books I have read the characters are mature and real. The scenario is up to date, current. The excitement continues through the entire book. And one can enjoy the book without dealing with language that shouldn’t be required reading and romance scenes some would rather skip past. It was all adventure and thriller. Very realistic
I don’t normally read books in this genre, but I still really liked it. It had a smart and original plot. Great characters (though Leah felt a bit flat) and great action sequences. The story is written for an lds audience, but it’s not quite as childish as a lot of lds fiction. I’ll definitely read the next book.
I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book. I also don’t read a lot of fiction. But the book is extremely well written and pulled me in from the beginning. Knudsen is an gifted writer with a great imagination. Can’t wait to get started reading the next book.
A gripping read that tells a dramatic tale of good and error. The end days are getting closer and this series promises to give a possible clue as to how it might happen
This started off slowly but built at a growing speed, keeping me on the edge of my seat for the last 5 chapters. Yes, I knew in a vague way what was coming but the details were well crafted. A really fun read!
I had a hard time putting this book down! I am not usually very interested in this kind of genre, but this story captured me from the start. I enjoyed the conspiracy theories, action, and personal introspection of the main character. I am looking forward to reading the next book!
Knudsen has done a masterful job in explaining just how evil some or gay can when given enough money and power. In the coming days we.will need more Max and Chris' to overcome this evil. May we each find the strength to overcome evil.
This is an amazing story full of action and interesting characters. Some parts are gory and parts were very disturbing. I may be kind of paranoid after reading this and it gave me scary dreams. In the end I was happy that the good guys won. At least for now.
I really liked this story, and I do recommend it if you are a Latter-Day Saint. There are plenty of interesting speculations and commentary on our beliefs. Also, it's just a fast-paced, fun book that flows in a good direction.
Some fun ideas Certain parts were well researched Pretty cliche, cookie cutter Little character development or depth Kept me entertained, I'll probably read the next
