Ein wirklich guter Zombieroman für zwischendurch. War deutlich kürzer als ich erwartet hatte, aber wirklich gut und spannend.
Der Schreinstil ist einfach und gut zu lesen. Kurze Kapitel aus den Blickwinkeln verschiedener Charaktere.
Eigentlich nicht so mein Fall, aber dadurch das die Kapitel kurz und ohne unnötiges hinziehen der Ereignisse sind, stört es mich nicht.
Werde sofort Teil 2 lesen.

Badly written and full of mistakes. Needed much better editing.
"first of the adults to wake up the next morning, though it was not completely voluntary as Phil’s kids made quite a racket" Then "also already awake making breakfast and was busy rationing the supplies that had been brought back..." and "came in from outside where he was making his way.."
So the first adult awake except for the other 2.
The dialogue was terribly written things like "...release as many as we can. I wouldn’t want to vegetate in such a torpid state...” Really - who talks like that.
CAUTION SPOILER ALERT!!!
Plus it was predictable and full of super zombies. Okay you die but don't, you never tire, never have to breathes.. but these zombies, got bigger and stronger and more capable...and then they started coming back as HUGE Got bigger 7 foot tall 1970's Arnold Schwarzenegger super zombies that could leap over hundreds of zombies and fences and buildings, because one of the guys let him get bitten and he was pissed so he was after him..
Horrible.

Horribly written with an inconsistent and distracting narrative that was a complete mash up of first person and third person within sentences and paragraphs. It was so distracting that I couldn't concentrate on the story and characters. It was terribly edited and filled with errors. To make matters worse, the attitude Bourne takes toward "fatties" is shamefully judgemental in the context of poor writing. He really fat shames and takes dig after dig at people who aren't the magazine perfect airbrushed standard. I think Bourne's next book should be called I Just Hate Fat People So There. In addition, the characters themselves are beyond flawed with few redeeming qualities. I was hoping for a Jamie Lannister type character to emerge but; no instead the characters were flat bullies living in glass houses throwing stones. I couldn't finish this book because of the grammar and judgement. Don't waste your time on this book.

I see a lot of bad reviews for this but this is nowhere near the worst zombie fiction out there!
Yes, it needs some heavy editing and probably some more explanatory backstory since you get thrown in to the story kinda oddly but I think it's a great start.
I would have liked at least one female character that we could follow along with since all the character pov's are male but since none of those males are terrible human beings and neither are the females mentioned in the book treated horribly , I can deal with it.
Sadly it does miss some connection with the characters, I was never worried about any of them and couldn't connect with a single one since they were all a little on the flat side.
I'll try book 2 to see if it improves a little.

Found this on Kindle Unlimited and thought I’d give it a try.
I was expecting some lighter reading since it’s a shorter book and recommended for ages 12-18, grade level 7-12. I kinda think someone should re-evaluate that age range as there is drunken hotel room extramarital affairs, swearing, alcohol abuse, tacky insults and violence which IMO would be too much for some 12 year olds.
There are many random editing errors. A letter “T” or “S” will be thrown about in the middle of a sentence.

Um, in trying to be kind.....I’ll just say that I have read a few Zombies, walkers, undead, stories/series and while the premise of this story is okay, the writing just wasn’t what I come to love in this genre. An excellent series ( if you are into this genre), is The Scattered and The Dead series by Tim McBain and L.T Vargus. Great character development, story line and writing in all its goriest. It is safe to say, I won’t be following this series.

An apocalyptic read you won't want to miss.
It's a good fast read that you don't want to put down. David Bourne has a fun & fresh new take on the Boss Zombie's. I can't wait to read the rest of the of the Evolution Z: series Stage 2, 3, Etc...I will definitely be recommending David Bourne books to all of my friends & family members.

The story was good
The story was good, but I'm not a fan of "Super" Zombies. I may give book 2 a shot, but I'm a little disappointed. Just my opinion

Eines Tages ist nichts mehr so wie es war. Menschen mutieren zu Zombies und greifen andere an. Kommt es dabei zu einer Verletzung durch den Zombie, ist der Angegriffene innerhalb kürzester Zeit ebenfalls dazu verdammt, als Untoter herumzuwandeln.
Mitten in diesem Chaos gibt es den Piloten Ray, der ein Flugzeug mit Zombies notlanden muss. Und auch Scott, der sich nur auf die Ferien zu Hause freut, muss sich mit seiner mutierten Nachbarin herumschlagen. Und Josh, der in der Pathologie gerade sein Praktikum macht, merkt, dass die Toten gar nicht mehr so tot sind. Alle drei sind unterschiedlich und doch haben sie mehr gemeinsam, als sie denken.
Der Klappentext hörte sich sehr vielversprechend an und so wagte sich mich an die Reihe von einem mir unbekannten Autor. Doch leider konnte mich das Buch am Ende nicht so sehr überzeugen, wie ich mir erhofft hatte.
Durch verschachtelte Sätze und zu knappe Informationen wird man mitten in das Geschehen geworfen. Durch die Kürze des Buches muss der Autor auf schnellstem Wege alle Protagonisten vorstellen und hätte dabei nicht außer Acht lassen dürfen, dass es ja noch eine Handlung zu bewerkstelligen gibt. Doch leider blieb einiges auf der Strecke.
Wie es zu dem Ausmaß der Katastrophe kommt, wird zu Anfang kurz angerissen. Und doch bleibt man mit vielem im Dunkeln stehen und muss sich selbst einiges zusammenreimen. Im Grunde ist dies nichts schlechtes, doch hat es mich diesmal schon gestört, so im Ungewissen gelassen zu werden.
Auch war es der ordinäre Schreibstil, der mich persönlich sehr gestört hat. So konnte ich auch nicht richtig in die Geschichte finden.
Außerdem blieben die Figuren sehr blass. Man bekommt zwar Informationen über ihr Leben, jedoch keine so richtig interessanten. Dies finde ich sehr schade, denn so konnte ich keinen Bezug zu ihnen aufbauen.
Ray, der Pilot, ist Alkoholiker und hat nicht nur mit Zombies, sondern auch mit seinen eigenen Problemen zu kämpfen. Er hat sein Leben nicht mehr im Griff und droht nun endgültig an allem zu zerbrechen.
Scott ist Holzfäller und freut sich sehr auf seinen bevorstehenden Urlaub und seine Familie. Doch zu Hause erwartet ihn alles andere als Ruhe. Er kommt - entgegen seinem starken Beruf - sehr sanftmütig daher.
Josh ist angehender Mediziner und hat dadurch schon einig Tote gesehen. Allerdings verlässt er sich zu sehr auf seine Eltern und fühlt sich nun mit allem etwas überfordert.
Diese drei Figuren könnten nicht unterschiedlicher sein und doch müssen sie sich zusammenraufen, um der Apokalypse ins Auge zu sehen.

Good read.

Mir war irgendwie nach Zombie Thriller, doch als ich dann das Wort Virus las, habe ich sofort mit den Augen gerollt. (Danke Covid19) Tja, was habe ich erwartet, keine Ahnung..
Ich bin froh, dass ich einfach weiter gelesen habe. Ich konnte mein Kindle gar nicht mehr aus der Hand legen, so hat es mich gepackt.
In dieser Geschichte begleiten wir unterschiedliche Protagonisten.
Josh ein Medizin Student,
Ray ein Pilot, Scott ein einfacher Holzfäller. Jeder hat seine Geschichte und von jedem erleben wir die erste Begegnung mit einem Zombie.
Es hat mir besonders gut gefallen, dass sich hier nicht mit unnötigen Details aufgehalten wurde. Meist nervt mich in Action Thriller, dass sämtliche Waffen und Gedöns beschrieben wird. Schön, du hast eine Waffe, mir doch Piep egal wie die heißt, schieß einfach. Hier nicht der Fall.
Der Schreibstil war sehr angenehm zum Lesen. Ich fand es spannend bis zur letzten Seite und muss unbedingt wissen wie es weiter geht.

Unter der Betrachtung, dass es ein Erstlingswerk ist, gefällt mir das Buch an und für sich.
Ließe ich diesen Punkt außen vor, würden mir allerdings jede Menge Kritikpunkte einfallen, angefangen beim schlampigen oder nicht vorhandenen Lektorat/Korrektorat, das besonders in der ersten Hälfte zu zahlreichen Fehlern führte.
Ein wenig betrübt mich auch, dass die Geschichte im Prinzip unterbrochen wird, um den Leser den nächsten Band kaufen zu lassen, obwohl die einzelnen Charakter-Arcs noch nicht wirklich abgeschlossen waren.
Im Prinzip liest man hier wirklich eine Folge einer TV-Serie, statt eine vollständige Staffel. Wenn man dies im Hinterkopf behält, kann man aber seinen Spaß an Zombies und Action, dank des einfachen Schreibstils, haben.

Not bad at all
I ENJOY reading about each character and how they come together. I'm impressed for a first book, and the editing was pretty great, especially compared to so many chopped up e-books I read. Definitely worth the couple hours it took to read and am waiting for the next installment!! Don't forget to wave a review, that's the only way some of these authors can get Theo word out, good or bad!!

Read if you Love Zombies
This book was a fast paced adventure from the start. The characters are normal people, no gunslingers, and are quickly forced to fight for their lives in a quickly evolving world. A disease that changes humans into hunger crazed zombies has hit. I am looking forward to the next book from this author.

Slow start building it pick up speed
I like this one because, we didn't have the main character or one of the main character have the typical perfect persona. The characters kinda grew into it. That was refreshing. Can't wait to read the next installment.

very good book. hard to put down
I really enjoyed the detailed, fast paced writing. It kept my attention from the beginning. Can't wait for the next book!

On the edge of my seat!
I saw this book advertised on FB and knew instantly that it was for me. As a HUGE Walking Dead fan and fan of zombies in general, this book does not disappoint! I gave a 4 star rating only due to a few editing issues but over all, it was a fast paced and exciting book. I couldn't put it down for long and am now going to buy the second book!

Zombie thriller
A New start for what could be a great series. The characters make you feel for them and the storyline is good. I am getting ready to read the next book, and so hope it is as good as this one.
