A Match Made in Ireland

Rate this book
A semester abroad was exactly what she needed, but falling in love with her roommate was not part of the lesson plan.

Rory, an American college student seeking a much-needed break, lands in Ireland for a semester abroad. She never imagines finding her assigned roommate to be Jaime, the charming yet irksome redhead from her flight.

Relying on her lively roommate to act as her personal tour guide, Rory experiences the breathtaking landscapes and Irish traditions that only a local could provide. She falls for more than the enchanting Irish experience he offers and dreams about a life free from worry with someone like Jaime. From kisses in castles to pints in pubs, Rory escapes from the baggage she left behind and envies the carefree life Jaime leads.

Until Rory's ex-boyfriend unexpectedly arrives and feelings of betrayal and doubt erupt. Pulled by past mistakes and newly discovered feelings, she must decide where her future lies. Does her heart belong in Ireland, or was Jaime merely a dream meant to be left behind?

A Match Made in Ireland is a delightful romantic comedy that delves into the magic of Ireland, the beauty of unforeseen bonds, and the transformative power of self-discovery.

As someone who studied abroad in college, I loved the premise of A Match Made in Ireland. Rory's experiences studying abroad in Ireland really brought back memories of my own time abroad. While I had some issues with the writing and the character development, I really appreciated that it was set in the early 2000s because it gave me a new perspective on just how much I rely on my smartphone for communication and travel information.

This was soooooooo incredibly sweet. I absolutely enjoyed watching Rory and Jaime fall for eachother, even though they didn’t really know it at the time. I think the story was made better by having closed door romance, but I do wish there was just a *tad* more chemistry written into their relationship, because really it read as good friendship and there wasn’t a whole lot of flirting.

Grateful that Rory stopped being delulu over Scott & found her Irishman. My heart hurt during part 2 but the ending brought it all back together.

Overall a wholesome read for when you need to warm your heart!

This book was so good. I related to Rory a lot in the starting. It is my dream to travel abroad one day and living in an Asian house limits my dreams and the desire to travel the world but this book made me realise we must dream for something beyond reach and maybe one day you will not regret who you are and what you like. Jaime and Rory's relationship was cute and such a fun read, The writing however was a little different and maybe it could've been better if there was a tad more chemistry between the characters. In short, this book is about a girl travelling to Ireland to explore and study there for some specific time and unintentionally she is destined to be sharing a room with a guy who frustrated the hell out of her on her plan ride to Ireland however the twists bring them closer. Overall, I have no regrets reading this book and will remember it in the foreseeable future.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a nice easy day read that kept me entertained on a perfect day. I really enjoyed when they were traveling and the description of Ireland. It was really nice reading a book where they travel, and you can learn as you read. I personally love books that do that. I've always wanted to go to Ireland, and I felt like I got a small taste of it in this book. I really adore Jamie, was annoyed with him at first but the more I read about him the more I liked him. I will definitely be recommending this book to my friends who need a sweet pallet cleanser. Reading this book came at a perfect time.

Thanks to NetGalley and Xpresso Book tours for providing me with this ARC and trusting me to give an honest opinion considering this is my first.
Please consider that it is not my first language.

I have to say that the traits that most called my attention were the setting and the fact that it is marketed as a “rom-com”, which was what I was looking for at the moment: something light and fun to read.

Main characters: Rory, our female love interest, goes on an exchange program in Ireland to get away from the family drama. This trip begins with the wrong foot, since she has problems with his sitting partner on the airplane and later they both realize that they are roommates. Which brings us to Jamie, who is native from Ireland and is coming back from USA to finish college. The forced-proximity leads them to develop feelings for each other, but they both know it can not last longer than the four months that Rory is meant to stay.

Secondary characters: Rory’s roommates seemed trustworthy and funny, even though they had just met when they arrived in the country. The girls develop this “best friends” dynamic which makes you believe that they have known each other their whole life and I can see them keeping touch, going to each other’s weddings and raising their kids together. Of course, we have the villains of the story, although I saw the plot twist coming, it still surprised me and I enjoyed how they used it to develop Rory’s character.

Setting: I loved how the author tells us about the country’s customs and the best places to visit without giving too much detail so as not to bore the reader but at the same time using them to give context to the plot.

Favorite scene: Thanks giving dinner was intense, but I enjoyed a lot when all the secrets started to come out.

Wonderful story about personal discovery and overcoming emotional obstacles to reach what we want in life.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

4.5 Stars!

The rollercoaster this book sent me through, guys.

So I started out the book thinking, "oh, Rory isn't like other girls" and how that is her whole shtick. Then realized that she is very VERY relatable in many ways- so if coming to terms with all of my sh*t using this book as a mirror wasn't some poetic therapy I don't know what is.

Some of the situations Rory found herself in were so stressful because, once again, it was a situation I could definitely find myself in. She's such a likable character and you just want to protect her and her to be happy but first she has to let herself be happy. I wanted to *places finger on her lips* "hush, hush, shhhhh" so many times and just smoosh their faces together. JUST BE HAPPY AND IN LOVE DAMNIT.

This book kept me up late at night as I rage read NEEDING to get to the happy ending. I wanted to punch Jaime and push two of the side characters off of the Cliffs of Moher and just needed my happy and in love characters :p

This is a great book if you are in love with Ireland. E.D. does a great job of describing the landscape and cultures. And even though this book is a fun, easy read, E.D. has such a poetic way of writing that you think you're reading some much deeper material at times.

Some tropes you'll see:
Hate to love, close proximity, hidden love, roommates, college students, long distance relationships, family dysfunction, betrayal.

This was such a fun read! I loved this story and where it was heading. It sometimes felt a bit predictable. There were some twists in the story that were not really a surprise. But I do have to say that they were still fun to read.
I did feel like the characters were a bit flat, not developed fully. They were great characters, as in I loved them. But I feel like I did not get to know them that well. Also Rory's backstory could have been a bit more detailed. It sometimes felt a bit thrown in there.

I really liked the premise of this book, but ultimately struggled to get through it. I couldn’t connect with either of the main characters and honestly found them both unlikable for many reasons. The best part of this book was the scenic views of the Irish countryside. I love to be able to escape to another country when I’m reading and I could imagine myself there through the vivid descriptions.

I so enjoyed this story! I felt the characters were charming and contained a satisfying layer of backstory. Ultimately, it's a story about accepting the love you think you deserve. The descriptions of Ireland were spot on. 👌
This is a wonderful, sweet romance to read leading up to St. Patrick’s Day! I look forward to more by E.D. Hackett!

Very mid. The love interest is introduced by man spreading on a plane and he brings that energy to the rest of the book, but apparently that just stops being annoying for the main character after a while? Not for me though.

Spoiler Free Summary
An American woman heads to Ireland for a semester abroad to live her Irish dreams.

Vibes
This was so good. I think because I could relate to it and knew exactly what places and Irish concepts they were talking about during the book. I esp loved that she went to Galway and had some of the most relatable feelings.

The pace of this book was also great. The story rolled really well and was great to start and finish on my flight.

Overall, this was a super quick read and very personal relatable book for me.

Definitely a cozy read but I wish there would have been more connection with the characters romantically. I kinda felt it was rushed in that way especially since in the beginning Rory didn’t really enjoy the love interest but suddenly they were an item. I wished it would have been more angsty. I felt I needed more connection from Jaime as well because I felt like I really didn’t know much about him.

Other than that I think this was a cute story and quick read.

📖 e-ARC "A Match Made in Ireland"
🖋️ E.D. Hackett

Genre: Romance
Tropes: Romantic Comedy // Close Proximity // Slow Burn // International Lovers // Will They or Won't They? // He Falls First // Closer Door Romance
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 5

I applied for this ARC on a whim. I was intrigued by the storyline - a romantic comedy that takes place during a semester abroad in Ireland - Yes please! This book took me by surprise. I wasn't sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised with how much I liked it. I felt that it had a bit of a slow start but once things got going I couldn't put this down.

Rory and Jaime meet in Ireland while Rory is there for a semester studying abroad. When an error happens in the dorm booking the two are forced to share a room together and become roommates. Where Rory is a Type A personality, clean, organized and has her trip scheduled in 15 minute increments, Jaime is the carefree Irishman, with a go-with-the-flow personality, and is well, a bit of a slob. The two are forced together and before you know it Jaime is kissing her in the middle of a beautiful castle in Ireland. [The Love Story Swiftie in me was swooning.]

However Rory is leaving in December to return to America, and having had a rough upbringing which left her not knowing if she even really believed in love and fate, she has no idea if they have a future together. Feelings of jealousy, doubt, and a little self sabotaging had me on the edge of my seat wondering "will they or won't they" - I truly had no idea how their story would end. I wanted to scream at Rory and talk some sense into her. I'm actually very surprised with how this book ended. It was a real page turner on my Kindle and I had no idea I was nearing the end.

Set in the beautiful countryside of Ireland, I found myself swept up in the daydreams of the rolling hills, drizzling rain, pints in pubs, and stolen kisses in castles that only Ireland can bring. This book was steeped in Irish traditions and dialogue and it truly felt like I was there. I have never read a book like this before and while I've always wanted to visit Ireland, I really want to visit there now. I want to experience this all for myself. And while this is labeled as a romantic comedy, don't be fooled. There are some heavy topics and conversations had while Rory journeys through self discovery and frees herself from the chains of parents who she could never quite be enough for.

This was a fantastic book that I would highly recommend to anyone. As a mood reader, I will definitely read this again in March when I am looking for a good read during the St. Patrick's Day season.

Synopsis:

Rory is an American college student who travels to Ireland with a bit of bad luck with an Irishman on the flight. She’s a control freak with the inability to let go and have fun. Jamie is a carefree Irishman with a heart of gold. Rory and Jamie’s paths intertwine soon after they arrive in Ireland.

To Rory’s surprise, she is roomed with the Irishman Jamie, whom she had the worst luck with on the flight to Ireland. Rory has a boyfriend back home in America. The living arrangements complicate things as she grows fond of Jamie. Can she let go of her control and enjoy what Ireland has to offer?

* Closed Door Romance
* Close Proximity
* College Roomies
* Self Discovery
* Fear vs. Love
* Study Abroad
* Irishman meets American Girl

My Thoughts:

I want to plan a visit to Ireland one day after reading this sweet romance between Jamie and Rory. The descriptions of Ireland and the details of Jamie's family traditions made me feel like I was there with them. Jamie didn't seem to be very gentlemanly at first to me, but he quickly changed my perspective and redeems himself throughout the book. Rory discovers herself as she learns the true intentions of those closest to her heart back home. I loved the side characters as well. The side characters help Rory find true friendships.

I enjoyed the comparison between Rory's family life and Jamie's family life. She had the opportunity to see what a happy family looks like vs. what her nonhappy family looks like back home. I can relate to Rory's family dynamic and the need to find happiness with someone else's family. Although the point wasn't to replace her family life with Jamie's family life, it's the fact that she had the ability to change things for herself. Rory is in control of her own happiness. She doesn't have to live her life the same way as her parents. Overall, I enjoyed the togetherness of Rory and Jamie's circle of life.

When Rory set off for Ireland to study abroad for a semester, she had every detail of her trip meticulously planned out in her travel book. As a Type-A personality, she was laser-focused on her studies and had little interest in anything that might disrupt her perfectly organized schedule. But then she met Jaime.

Jaime was everything Rory wasn't—clumsy, messy, and carefree. On their flight to Ireland, he spilled her drink, ate her food, and drove her absolutely crazy. She was desperate to escape him, but fate had other plans. When Rory arrives at her new dorm, she discovers that Jaime isn’t just a random guy she met on the plane—he’s now her roommate. Due to a mix-up, Jaime’s living situation has been thrown into chaos, and he’s ended up in a small apartment shared with three girls, one of whom is Rory.

As the semester progresses, Rory and Jaime’s unlikely living arrangement sparks all kinds of chaos, forcing them both to confront their differences and their growing feelings for each other. What starts as an awkward, frustrating situation turns into a heartwarming, adventurous journey filled with love, friendship, and personal growth.

At first, I wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy this book. Rory came across as a little too rigid, and I wasn’t immediately drawn to her character. But as the story unfolded, I found myself hooked. The chemistry between Rory and Jaime is undeniable, and I ended up rooting for them both. Even the side characters were a delight (except for the ones you’re meant to dislike, of course).

One thing I highly recommend is reading the mini epilogue, *Promises for a New Adventure*. It provides a perfect, sweet conclusion to the story, wrapping everything up beautifully. This book is full of heartwarming moments, love, and the kind of messy, imperfect relationships that make life (and books) so enjoyable. If you’re a fan of college romances, found family, and opposites attracting, this one’s for you!

I received a digital ARC of this book. This is my first time reading this author. I chose the ARC because it was set in Ireland. Even though I’ve never been, my mom was born there and her mom’s whole family. Rory is an American college student going to Ireland for a study abroad semester. She’s leaving behind her dysfunctional family and a boyfriend who acted like she was leaving for 6 days, not 6 months. On her plane ride over the guy next to her almost makes her want to just go back to the states. (No spoilers for why) When she gets to the apartment she’ll be staying in she meets 2 other girls that are already there, and they’ve already claimed a room together, which means Rory will be with whomever the 4th roommate is. They go out that first night and when they get back there’s no one else there. But when Rory wakes up the next morning she can’t believe her eyes. The 4th roommate that she has to share a room with is a guy!!! And not just a guy, the guy who ruined her flight over to Ireland! Jaime isn’t happy either, he’d rather be rooming with his fútbol buddies. She complains to the front desk but there’s nothing they can do. All the rooms are full. Her other girl roommates decide this is actually a good thing, they’ll have an Irish tour guide and guy protection as foreigners. Rory isn’t convinced. Plus, since she’s got a boyfriend back home so she feels guilty about sharing a room with a guy. This story is set in early 2000’s small town Ireland. Rory and her roommates go on weekend adventures, as well as enjoy the nightlife of the town. There are many twists and turns throughout the story. Some you will see coming and some come out of nowhere. But since I’m not sharing spoilers, you’ll have to read the book yourself to find out! There is also a bonus epilogue that you can get from the author.

A Match Made in Ireland
By: E.D. Hackett
Pub Date: October 1, 2023
Rory is going to Galway, Ireland for a semester, and she can’t wait. She is not sad to be leaving her family and friends, in fact she is looking forward to it. She is ready to meet new people, go sightseeing, and make some memories.
On the plane she just so happened to be seated next to a rather large Irishman with no sense of personal space. When he accidentally bumps into her and spills her drink onto her food, that’s the last straw. She can’t wait to get off the plane and get away from him. When she lands and makes her way to her apartment, she meets two out of three of her roommates. When she finally meets her third roommate, it’s none other than the guy from the plane. His name is Jaime and once she puts aside the plane disaster, she discovers that he is a great guy.
Most weekends are spent travelling to different sightseeing locations with her roommates, but one weekend she finds herself alone and goes to a matchmaker in Lisdoonvarna. She meets with the matchmaker and is guaranteed she will meet who is meant for her within six months.
Jaime convinces her to go off the beaten path and find where the locals go and have genuine experiences with locals, including his family. During this time, there is no denying their feelings. Rory will be leaving in December will she be leaving with a long distant relationship or just a good friend?
My thoughts: I loved the characters of Rory and Jaime. He is exactly what Rory needs in her life – a little spontaneity, fun, and family experience that is everything she never had. I’ve been to Ireland, and I love reading a book that brings back travel memories. This was a feel good romance that I would read again!

I really wanted to like this book. The premise of it sounded so amazing, but it fell pretty flat for me, unfortunately.

The pacing felt a little off in the book. Definitely not a slow burn type of romance. It got on my nerves that Rory just completely overlooks what a slob and how inconsiderate Jaime is and they have completely opposing personalities.

I didn't really understand why Rory was getting so jealous when they were meant to be a sort of friends with benefits situation.

I honestly thought the small part that includes the matchmaker could have been left out entirely. It added nothing to the story, and she didn't even find love within the 6 months that he predicted.

I really just didn't feel any chemistry or sexual tension from Rory or Jaime. Like, at all.

Rory is an infuriating character. She tells Jaime she loves him while drunk, but when Jaime reciprocates those feelings, she runs off and gets angry at him. She acts possessive and jealous when they're meant to be "just having fun" and then he books a romantic getaway for them and she runs away for like 5 hours?

I also didn't understand the story Jaime told about the fairy. Jaime said that the fairy would be the one to bring the girl in the story to her true love and Rory keeps asking if Jaime is her fairy, yet that would make Jaime just a stepping stone on her journey to finding her true love, not her actual true love.

What I DID really like was the descriptions of all the beautiful locations in Ireland. That was probably the best aspect of this book to be honest.

This was a very young adult, PG sort of romance. No graphic depictions of romantic scenes at all.

Not sure I would recommend this specific book, BUT I do want to read other novels that E.D. Hackett has written.

All opinions are my own, thank you to NetGalley and E.D. Hackett for the ARC.

I wanted to love this book with everything that I had in me. The cover blurb was SO SO SO good and I was instantly drawn to it. However, this book was not everything that was promised. To start, the characters have no chemistry. They meet on the plane, he goes to the same school as her, and then they share a room? It looks like this book tried all of the well loved tropes and tried combining them, but it was ultimately too much. Rory and Jaime were good friends...but I felt no chemistry. Their story felt super rushed, and honestly just lacking.

The side characters aka Rory and Jaime's suite mates Zoe and Marissa, were so incredibly two dimensional. They had virtually no personality because the book was SO focused on Rory. Rory's personality also changes on the fly. One minute she is scheduled to the teeth, and then Jaime tells her to lighten up and live in the moment and she is suddenly carefree??

I struggled with the time management of this book. We spend a whole chapter on her plane ride, yet a chapter and a half later we are a month into the semester? Is Rory also in like two classes? The only one she ever talked about was her Women in Ireland/ Irish class....

The plus side to this book was the descriptors. The depictions of the Irish countryside was amazing. I felt like I was there. It was vivid writing, and it flowed well. This was my favorite part of the book.

Thank you Netgalley and E.D. Hackett for the opportunity to read this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

An utterly charming novel about young love. 5*
Rory an American student going to Galway for a Semester encounters an utterly messy, inconsiderate, somewhat pushy guy on the airplane, only to find that her roommate is none other than Jamie, her fellow traveller from the plane. Not only he is the messiest person she'd ever met but he was mistaken for a girl when the rooms were assigned. As nothing can be done to change the situation, they must make the best of the situation. Rory is determined to absorb as much of the habits, culture, and way of life of Ireland as she can, she finds that she'd found the best tour guide and information source she possibly can, for Jamie may be a bit messy but through him, Rory meets the heart of the people, something she would never have done without him. The book is very informative about Ireland, Day by day, Jamie appears less and less messy and annoying and becomes cute, then cuter as the weeks pass. They have incredible adventures and experiences that bind them together, way more than just friends. Their romance develops and blossoms but the inevitable separation looms over them with little hope of a happy resolution. There is, however, always a way to hold onto true love and it is Jamie who grabs the bull by the horns to ensure their happy ending. This was a heart-warming, enjoyable love story that was far more emotionally mature than is expected from most other young love stories. Highly recommend to all.

Rory makes the decision to spend a semester in Ireland, eager to pursue her dreams and broaden her horizons. She's excited to discuss her plans with her assigned roommates abroad. However, there's a slight twist—instead of sharing a room with another Miss Americana girl, she finds herself rooming with a charming Irish guy she had the misfortune of meeting on the plane, where they had an incredibly frustrating and annoying encounter. What could possibly go awry?

I really enjoyed Rory and Jaime's story, even though it's more of a YA than an adult romance, and despite the book being a closed-door romance.
I found Jaime to be an immensely likable character, Rory, on the other hand, could be frustrating at times due to her frequent self-sabotage. However, as she began to acknowledge and actively address this issue, she became a more sympathetic character. Many of her problems stemmed from her parents' relationship, and I often wished she had a therapist or someone to confide in, offering guidance instead of going in circles. Despite this, I genuinely enjoyed the novel and how Jaime and Rory's story unfolded.

The descriptions of the Irish countryside were stunning. I felt as if I were right there. The writing was vivid and flowed smoothly.

Set in the early 2000, when there were no smartphones or internet everywhere, this is the story of Rory, an American student who comes to Ireland to study during a semester. In the process, she met her American roommates, and Jaime, a red haired Irish who she can't but fall in love with.

Jaime and Rory met on the plane, and she thought he was horrible and rude, but when she found out that he is in fact her Irish student roommate, they became closer and Jaime reveals to be a real charming friend. Rory is organized, and tight, Jaime is careless and easy going but soon they learn how to live together in harmony.

What I liked the most, was reading Rory's list of places to go in Ireland. It was very fun to go with them on different weekend tours. I also liked the college environment with the roommates in the dorm. I loved Jaime's family and friends, they added Irish flavour explaining the different traditions of the country.

This book has a lot of the tropes I enjoy in a romance book: enemies to lovers, forced proximity and friends to lovers. It was a relaxing and charming reading, and I highly recommend it.

• Rory decides to take a semester on Ireland to explore her dreams and expand her knowledge, she’s excited to share this with her assigned roomies abroad. The thing is… there’s a small problem and she’s not sharing a room with another Miss Americana girl BUT with a cute Irish fella, that she already met on the plane there and had the most horrible-annoying experience. What could go wrong?

• • Here's the thing, the blurb and cover were beautiful, and it seemed like a solid yes for me. But it wasn’t you know? This book just wasn’t for me. The story was good, but I didn’t love it, it felt like I was reading someone else’s travel journal of sorts.
Which takes me to say that the description of Ireland was beautiful and well written! The traditions, story, and places, that part? Yeah, that part I really liked it.

The love story between Rory and Jamie was one that I was rooting for, but they simply had no chemistry, I was more interested in their roommate’s story than their own.
Rory wasn’t my romance heroine and that’s okay, because maybe she’s someone else’s!

Rory Stanley, a type A perfectionist, is spending this fall semester studying abroad in Ireland. When she bumps into a discourteous Irish fellow that ruins her plane ride from the states, she doesn’t let the imperfect start affect her semester abroad - that is, until she checks into her new apartment and, by mistake, is forced to be his roommate for the next few months.

This is an enemies to lovers, forced proximity, coming of age romance read.

I love the setting and how easily I could imagine the dreamy Irish locations! Though the writing is in my preferred style, some of the dialogue and internal monologues felt unnatural or cheesy. The two main characters are easy to love but I felt like the enemies to lovers progression needed to be slower. The twists were also pretty predictable.

Overall it was a cute, easy read and I enjoyed following the characters’ stories.

If this doesn't make you want to travel to Galway, and Ireland in general, I don't know what will.

We meet Rory, a Boston collegiate student who is going on her semester abroad to Galway, as well to explore the whole country of Ireland.

Along the way, she meets a cast of delightful friends, while also understanding what it means to truly immerse yourself in another culture.

I identified so much with Rory's type-A, planning personality so I loved seeing her growth throughout the entirety of the book.

The characters are nuanced, and readers are given the chance to truly understand their motivations as well. It also doesn't sugar coat the difficulties of love, and life in general.

Now, to get started on my own itinerary to visit Galway!

The cover and title of this book is originally what drew me in. During the year of 2019, I got to spend a summer abroad in Dublin and this beautiful country has not left my heart since.

Reading this book brought me back to the wonders of this magical country. The way the author writes about Irish people, the language, the country, the custom and nature makes my heart ache for the nostalgia of my own time there. She wrote about these things so beautifully I was transported back in time.

Rory and Jaime were adorable characters and I loved the progression of their relationship. Act II of the book made my heart so happy and I admired Rory’s personal growth after her semester abroad. I felt a bit of frustration with Rory’s character and her emotional instability, but Jaime was a great grounding force for her.

Overall, a wholesome read that has me checking flights to get back to Ireland 💚

I know this is classified as adult fiction, but the characters are young enough, I think it skirts YA. And with YA comes the angst. If you love a little angst in your romance books… this one’s for you!

Rory and Jaime get placed as roommates because of a mix-up. Because Jaime is from Ireland, Rory and their other two flat mates are able to explore with a local guide to a lot of places they wouldn’t have otherwise. Absolutely loved the setting, especially when they explored and we got to hear more about Ireland.

Loved the side characters… their flat mates, some football friends, and Jaime’s family. Did not love a couple other side characters who provided all the angst haha

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review. Watch for A Match Made in Ireland to come out Sept 23, 2023.

Rory moves to Ireland for a semester abroad and meets Irish Jaime on the plane fare. He doesn't leave the best first impression and then ends up being her roommate.

The blurb of this book is so good and well-written, I wanted to like this book so much, but, unfortunately, I'm a little disappointed.

While the descriptors of the town and the scenery in Ireland are amazing, I just didn't get into this. I wasn't excited to read and progress in the story for one sole reason. The characters. To me, they felt juvenile and inconsistent. Not to mention their lack of chemistry. On the way over he was an absolute tool and yet she somehow felt attracted to him, needing to force herself to think of her boyfriend. It just felt weird.

I don't like leaving low ratings and write less than positive reviews, but in the end this story just wasn't for me.
