New York Times and USA Today best-selling author, Victoria Danann, adds a bit of grit to the runaway hit series Sons of Sanctuary. Devils Marker is a tale of romance and suspense loosely based on actual events.
A biker who walked away from a SoCal outlaw club came to the SSMC seeking a quieter life as a legit investment strategist. Little did he know he was jumping out of the frying pan into the fire when the club president asked him to fill a marker owed to a Texas Ranger.
Win wanted the fast track to respect and a full patch with the SSMC in Austin, but things changed when the daughter of the Marauders' prez caught his eye. Now all he wants is to get out alive with the little blonde firecracker who has a vice grip on his heart with passion pink fingernails.

It will take you to Austin, Texas, where there's an MC with real men who love real women and know how to get shit done.
The year when the biker massacre occurred in Waco, Texas, I had people ask me about it wherever I went because I live a couple of hours from there. I would always tell them there's a reason why Texans call it "wacko". But I was also perversely intrigued by the facts of what had happened; who, what, where, how, etc. When I say that this book is loosely based on real events, I mean really, really, really loosely.
The Romance: I love romance that surprises the couple themselves. Win wasn't looking and, in fact, thinks fate has picked the least opportune time possible to show him somebody interesting. R.C. thinks what she wants is pretty much the opposite of Win Garrett; a nice clean cut corporate executive with seven figure potential. In a sense, we know her better than she knows herself because we suspect Win is perfect for her. Considering that possibility takes some doing because, for most of her life, she's been committed to the idea of a future with money and without bikers.
The Ugly Stuff I used the subplot of sex trafficking because I wanted to call attention to the danger, in case some are still unaware. Devil's Marker addresses this topic that should be a concern to all, but especially those of us who have loved ones who are young women. They are at risk no matter who or where they are.
When I was still playing with my band, my lead guitar's whole family was involved with combating sex trafficking in Conroe, Texas, a far northern suburb of Houston. The fact that it's not the sort of place where you'd expect this kind of thing highlights the fact that it's prevalent in a truly scary way. One of the reasons why the practice is growing is because so many of us would rather pretend we live in Mayberry RFD, where the idea of daughters, granddaughters, nieces, cousins, or (as the book says) the cashier at the H.E.B. being abducted is unthinkable.
Are there really bad guys out there who are our real life super heroes? I don't know. It's a fantasy.
Devil’s Marker was the fourth book in Victoria Danann’s Sons of Sanctuary MC.
Win Garrett was a new prospect with the Sons of Sanctuary MC. He left an outlaw club in hopes to live on the right side of the law. He was smart and gorgeous in addition to being a totally alpha male. One of his first assignments within the SSMC was to go undercover in another club across the state, the Marauders. The MC owed a marker and Win was able to help fulfill it.
R.C. Greer was the gorgeous, smart and sassy daughter of the Marauders MC. She was bound and determined to get out of the lifestyle, thus she never dated or hooked up with bikers. Ever.
I really enjoyed Devil’s Marker. It was well written, well developed, action packed, suspenseful, multi-dimensional and totally enjoyable. It was written primarily with Win’s POV, but there were a couple other POV’s mixed in when applicable; however, we didn’t get R.C.’s POV, which added a sense of mystery to the plot.
I loved everything about both characters and their relationship development, but surprisingly, that was more the secondary storyline. The main plot focused on the MC and the challenges that were occurring from a rival club. I was thoroughly intrigued and couldn’t put it down. As a result, I also fell in love with the Marauders MC. I’m hopeful Danann will create a spinoff series.....and soon.
In the end, I was captivated from the first word to the last and I was reminded why I loved the series. Each book continues the trend. Next up is Roadhouse and I can’t wait.
WOW! Victoria Does it again! This book is very edgy and full of intrigue. Win is very likable yet still what I would picture an MC member to be like. As per usual for my reaction to a VD book. I laughed out loud, Gasped, sat on the edge of my seat, and Cried. But this time it was a happy cry. For those of you that are Daddy's little girl, you also will cry. Love the new characters we are introduced to. It helps a bit if you have read the other SSMC books, but it can be read as a Stand Alone. Win and R.C. are a hoot together. The interaction keeps me coming back for more. Favorite quote. “Arcy. There aren’t enough angels in heaven or demons in hell to keep me away.” You know you want to read this book, so get your copy and start reading! From a Forever Fan... Pam James.
What a ride!! Danann knows how to create characters that get under your skin and into your heart. She does this all while giving you a story with some twists, a few heated moments and romance. Oh, and a storyline that is unique and fresh. I have never been disappointed in a single one of Danann’s books. I do have favorites and Devils Marker is right up there in the top 3-4. These Sons of Sanctuary books are beginning to rival the Black Swan series!! And they get better with each book. Do yourself a favor and check out the story of Win and R.C. and see how much trouble a good guy can get into when he is being bad!!! MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Devil´s Marker by Victoria Danann is the fourth book in the Sons of Sanctuary MC series, and my favorite one so far. Win has requested to join SOS MC and chooses the fast track option to respect and a full patch with the club, which could end up being the end of him. R. C. wants nothing to do with the MC life until Win comes into the picture. This couple really is made for each other. I really enjoyed these characters and this book. Victoria Danann has a way of drawing you into the storyline and keeping you on the edge of you seat til the very end. She is a truly talented author and never ceases to amaze me with her storylines and ideas. I can't wait for more from this series.
It is not possible to pick this book up and not want to put it down again until you have read the whole darn thing. The comedy and romance are perfectly entertaining. Even with the danger in the mix it has a lighthearted feel. I had a coworker want to know what I was sitting there by myself laughing about. Love this new edition to the SOS series.
What a great read! Devil's Marker is the 4th book in the SSMC series...and although it has some crossover characters, it is a standalone story. Win is sexy, smart, loyal and an avid numbers guy. RC is beautiful, feisty and the prez' s daughter. Their relationship can only get better after she breaks his nose! A little something for everyone...humor, sarcasm, suspense, a few twists, a little romance and a little bloody action. I love it when the bad boys are the good guys!
Loved the story. Victoria’s MC world is becoming more complex with each book. The characters are just as nuanced as her “Knight’s of the Black Swan” series. In other words, more please.
Devil´s Marker by Victoria Danann is the fourth book in the Sons of Sanctuary MC. Devil´s Marker can easily be read as a stand alone. There are only a few cross-over. An old friend of Brant- president of the Sons of Sanctuary MC calls in a marker. Win Garrett wants nothing more than peace and quiet. But then he´s aked to help his new club brothers out. What he never had expected was to find his nemesis at this mission. A nemesis in form of a feisty foulmouthed woman, R.C. . Devil´s Marker is a thrilling read. I was hooked from page one and couldn´t put it down. Sometimes I wanted to take a breather, but I couldn´t put it down. I couldn´t not know what happened to the characters. This book is full of twists and unexpected turns. Danger and great feelings. I felt every single one of the characters emotions. Victoria Danann did it again. She´s a brilliant author who writes stories that touch my heart. I highly recommend Devil´s Marker and give 5 stars, thank you Victoria Danann!
WOW, WOW, WOW, HOTT DAYUM! Victoria has done it again. I thought the brothers were my favorite SSMC boys but I think that I have found a new one! All I want to know is WHERE CAN I FIND A WIN? This story may be the longest of the SSMC books but I read it the fastest. I didn't know that BAD GUYS could be SOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOODDDDD! This book has everything a great story needs. IE: Twist, Turns, Suspense, HOT HOT MEN, and a wonderful Love story! I for one can't wait to see what Victoria does next! LOVE all of her books!
You will find yourself immersed in the midst of Win Garrett's undercover detail that will satisfy a marker owed by SSMC to a Texas Ranger. He agrees to infiltrate the Marauders Motor Cycle Club to fulfill the marker and gain his place in the SSMC...a lot can happen in a month! I really enjoyed these characters and this book in Victoria Danann's Sons of Sanctuary series... An excellent read!
Joining a new club at a cost Win has been a biker for a lot of years. But want out of the dangerous side of it. So he seeks out the SSMC to become a member and help with their investing. Little did he know he would be asked to help fulfill a marker owed to a Texas Ranger. While undercover with the Marauders, Win falls for the President daughter. Talk about complicated. It’s only supposed to be for a month at the most, to find out some info, and get out alive. Lots of action and adventure in this book. This may be part of a series but this is a self-contained story. You need not read any of the others to fully enjoy this book. Well written and very entertaining to read. I highly recommend this book.
Win, a new prospect to Sons of Sanctuary MC, is sent to obtain information from the Marauder's MC as a pay back to the favor given from the Texas Ranger to the Sons of Sanctuary in a previous book. Win is an investing genius with the goal of belonging to a more legitimate club, like S of S MC. Yet, he agrees to spy on the other club in return for being patched in with Sons of Sanctuary. He is readily accepted into the new club and learns that they have many positive attributes and develops friendships quickly. R.C., the daughter or the club president, is not a fan of bikers. Having grown up in the club, she craves stability and safety. Naturally, she and Win are attracted to each other. There are twists and turns in this book that add to the likeability of most characters. R. C. is strong willed, opinionated and outspoken. It would take a man as secure as Win to attract her attention and to hold it. I like this couple and enjoyed this book immensely.
Win Garrett is ready for a new start and has left his MC club the Huns and asked to join the Sons of Sanctuary MC. Brant Fortnight is more than happy to have Win join his club but when he is asked by Texas Ranger Forge Russell for some help monitoring two rival MC clubs, The Marauders and Stars and Bars, he knows he must send Win.
Win is accepted into the Marauders and into a life that he wanted to leave behind him but he is also introduced to RC Greer, daughter of the club president, Boss. Win must gain the trust of the Marauders and discover why they are fighting with Stars and Bars and get out alive. And with any luck get the girl.
This is another great book in the series and quite different than the others and we don't get to see a lot of our favorite characters from previous books. That being said we quickly get attached to good guy Win and cheer him on while he gets what he needs from the Marauders.
The sexual tension between Win and RC is hot but you understand why RC wants someone with more to offer than just a motorcycle club. I loved how the two met and the door incident. They started with a weird friendship then it evolved into more when they both realized how much they wanted each other.
I was definitely cheering for the Marauders in their war with Stars and Bars and was not surprised on how things ended.
Great read and looking forward to the next one in the series!
This is the fourth in Victoria Danann's Sons of Sanctuary series. You can read it without having read the others, but she is such a good story teller you will be missing out if you just read one. I will start off my saying I am not attracted to the motorcycle culture. Despite this, I have truly enjoyed each of the book and become involved in the characters.
Win has left his old club in California and returned to Texas. He hopes to find peace and quiet with Sons of Sanctuary. However, to speed up his membership, he must agree to go undercover with the Texas Marauders. It looks like they are about to have a gang war with a new Motorcycle Club moving into their territory called the Stars and Bars. Win should just watch and report back but it becomes apparent that Stars and Bars activity has seriously crossed the line, he can't help but become involved. His growing attraction to the daughter of the boss of the Texas Marauders also complicates his mission.
Once again Victoria Danann weaves a compelling story of love and loyalty with complex characters. I am looking forward to reading the next one.
This is the 4th book in the series and it came as a surprise, a happy surprise. I thought the series was probably done after the third book but I apparently forgot we're talking about Victoria Danann! Wow, another hit.
In this one, we have everything: A surfer dude disguised as a biker, suspense, romance (of course), action, and a bit of a surprise ending. These are "typical" pieces to one of Victoria's books so they are not surprising here. If you haven't read the first three books, you should do that first because the relationships (and mentions of other characters) are a bit complex and you will miss some things if you just pick it up here. However, I think this one might work out okay as a stand alone. Since I've read everything she has written (I think) I can't really judge that but I know full background will make this one even better.
As always, there are not enough stars for her books, just as there are not enough hours for me to get the books read as quickly as I would like. Work and sleep interfere but I got it read in short order because I just couldn't stop reading. Another awesome, 5-star+ book!
How can I praise this story without sounding repetitive? Maybe a fan girl squeee for Victoria Danann's outstanding reveal of a life many people don't truly understand? It's easy to look at the surface of MCs, writing them off in a stereotypical fashion. Devil's Marker gave me a sense of how loyal, family centered, and close a club can be over and beyond their activities. Win reminds you to look past the obvious and preconceived ideas to see the worth beneath the surface. Definitely worth being in my to keep forever bookcase.
Despite this being written like a romance novel, this was a regular story with tiny bits of a romantic subplot. Felt like Win and R.C’s entire relationship was a fade to black (which also happened in the sex scenes). I came out of this book feeling like I missed something lmao and by that I pretty much mean the entire book!
What a wonderful book Devil's Marker is. I couldn't put it down. There was humor, suspense, sex, and lots of action. Not your typical biker book. Win is a character you can't help but root for and fall for. You can try and figure out the ending, hope for what you want to happen...but until you get there you just don't know how it will turn out. Victoria Danann has a way of writing that makes you feel like you're in the scene with all the players. That to me makes a successful story. Thank You again Ms Danann for this latest adventure into the wonderful world of your writing. I recommend this book for everyone.
I am really enjoying this series. This is book #4, but they are all very well written and very quick reads. The biker characters in this series are rough and tough, but not over the top. Yet they are exactly what you need in a romance novel. The main character in this book is looking for a fresh start. He gets far more than he was looking for, when he meets a woman who is a bigger badass than he is. And there you have it... Do yourself a favor, and start this series. You won't be disappointed.
Win really wants to be free and just be an accountant but he also wants to do what is right, even if it does cost him. Victoria always gives us characters that are winners.
If I could give more than 5 stars, this book would certainly deserve them. It’s book #4 in author Victoria Danann’s outstanding Sons of Sanctuary series, and it’s a fantastic read! We learn the tale of Win Garrett, a new member of SSMC, financial whiz and pretty boy extraordinaire. We also meet the new crew, The Marauders, a not always legal motorcycle club out of Waco. When rumors of a big showdown reach Brant, the leader of SSMC, he sends Win on an assignment. Win’s assignment could lead to great things for himself; it could also lead to very bad things for himself. Win is prepared for either. The only thing he’s not prepared for is RC, the daughter of the leader of The Marauders. And this is where it starts! I love the characters, and the storyline is fantastically strong. I am so very excited to see what else happens with The Sons of Sanctuary Motorcycle Club, and each of their amazing members!
Win and Arcy’s (R.C.) story is exceptional and full of exciting moments. It’s hilarious, captivating and shows a side of our society that is all too familiar. She takes us on a journey where men can be the heroes, showing them in the light of being our champions against the worst sort of men that are truly the deprivation of our world. All the twists, turns and intrigue just made it one of the best. Someone else reviewed and said each one just keeps getting better and better without taking away from just how great the stories before are. I absolutely totally agree! Of course there is some harrowing moments and I absolutely loved how she handled the topic. Again I really don’t want to say anything that will give away surprises along the journey of reading Devil’s Marker. I don’t want to take away your fun as you read her absolutely fabulous SSMC series.
Win Garrett is looking for a new start and a new MC club in Texas after leaving his old outlaw club behind in SoCal. When the SSMC president offers to fast track his acceptance into the club, Win agrees to go undercover in the Texas Marauders, an affiliate of the club he left behind to find out more about the possibility of an all-out MC war between the Marauders and the Stars and Bars . . . a new club in the area that appears to be participating in activities that even the notorious Marauders don’t want to happen in their community . . . namely human trafficking.
What Win didn’t expect was to fall for the daughter of the Marauder’s president.
R.C. wants nothing to do with romancing any of the bikers in her father’s club. She is intelligent, feisty and knows exactly what she wants out of life . . . that is until Win starts making her need things she didn’t even know she wanted.
Will Win be able to get the intel he needs without the Marauders figuring out who he really is, help rid the area of the nefarious Stars and Bars . . . and can he also get the girl of his dreams?
Once again, Victoria Dannan has taken what could have been a trite MC romance and made it into something special. Win is not your everyday biker . . . then again, none of the SSMC are. When he agrees to help the Texas Rangers by infiltrating the Marauders, he never expects to begin liking, let alone respecting their president and club members . . . and of course, falling for the daughter of the prez should have been completely out of the question. R.C. is also a spitfire! She is not going to sit idly back and watch from the sidelines, but is determined to take full control of her life. The chemistry between Win and R. C. is off the charts hot and their romance is anything but conventional.
Victoria also did a great job of creating unexpected characters and an unexpected sense of camaraderie for readers for the members of the Marauders. I found myself rooting for Win to find a way to somehow fulfill his assignment from the Rangers without upsetting the goodwill of the members of the club he is basically spying on. Devil’s Marker a great story with lots of excitement, adventure and a romance readers won’t soon forget. 5 stars
Firstly I wish to thank Victoria Danann for yet another fantastic all night read. Win Garrett has left his old outlaw club and wants to join the SSMC for a quieter life. However Brant the President has an undercover job for him, before he fully patches in. SSMC owe a debt to The Rangers who helped them out. Win has to go and join The Marauders, the sister club of his old club, and get as much info as he can on the war that is brewing between them & another club called The Stars and Bars. So in he goes with the promise it is only for a month, however he doesn’t bank on falling for the club president’s daughter. Can he solve the problem or get caught up in real trouble? This was a great story, I fell into is so easily. Win was gorgeous & I want to know where I can get me one. Fast paced & exciting, but also deep & meaningful, I refused to put it down until I had finished it.
Biker gangs conjure up rough and tough men who quite frankly can be scary. Victoria's biker series is quite the opposite where men are tough but are willing to put everything on the line to protect those they care about, be it family by blood or love. This story however has both types of biker gangs and for a time to be honest I was a little uncomfortable with the line the story was taking. Then I remembered that the plot was loosely based on actual events, then the reading became serious even though the romance was still threading its way through the storyline. I wasn't sure if the deal that been made would last and luckily the pace was fast enough that I didn't have to wait too long to find out. New characters are introduced and form part of the next series that I am excited to hear about! Great read, with a somber tone well written, thank you Victoria!
The Devis Marker is the 4th installment in the Sons of Sanctuary Motorcycle Club (SSMC) series. A biker (Win) who walked away from the wild side comes to the SSMC seeking a quieter life as a legit investment strategist. Little did he know he'd be jumping out of the frying pan into the fire when the club president asks him to fill a marker owed to a Texas Ranger. This is my favorite book in this series and Victoria Danann masterfully unfolds this suspenseful, fun, edgy and emotional story which draws you in and never lets you go. It ends with you wanting more for multiple new people weaved into and throughout this amazing adventure of the mind.
Win is a definite win-win situation. Leaving one California MC's, to go find one that he was comfortable in, trying to get away from a violent life. Enter the Sons of Sanctuary where he is accepted.
And the daughter of the Marauder's President, RC just wants to find a man who is upstanding, who doesn't ride bikes, oh by the way he has to have at least $3,000,000.....yes three million dollars.
Brand has a marker pulled, from a Texas Ranger no less............which puts Win back into a violent life.
Read the book and find out what happens on the next book in the Sons of Sanctuary MC series. You won't regret it!
