Ole allowed his brother to live. Highpoint is under threat of being destroyed, and the strongest guilds have it out for the Knights of the Ashes. The human realm is no longer safe. Families need to be evacuated, and Ole's city needs to be built. Only then will they feel truly safe.
But not all is lost. Mana based technology was discovered and is currently being built. But there's a problem. They need Ole and his knowledge to finish it all. Sora and Riley are still at odds over their relationship, and Ole is finally ready to choose.
That's just one small problem to handle. A second bunker is needed. It's time to expand and bring in the angels. Traveling across the country with a fox, demon, and human all under gold rank will not be easy. And what's worse, new realms are discovered as their inhabitants set up camp. The world is changing, and the feeling that everything is hostile will push Ole and his team to new heights.
Can Ole level up his Ashen Taming and add new party members? He'll also have to travel to the angel's realm and win them over. So much to do, and yet there never seems to be enough time. Ole can only pray that his actions will help secure the human's spot on Earth. But nothing is ever easy when it comes to the Ashen...
I like to keep my bio simple. A few updates and a small mention that all of my books have a tinge of romance involved.
Ashen Realm: Book two will be coming out at the beginning of February. The third book is nearly ready as well. I'm hoping to have it published in April.
Fenrir's series; I will be releasing the fourth book at the beginning of the year around March.
Dimension Dungeon 3 is in the works still. I'm not sure when I'll get it out, but know that I am working on it.
World Champion has been launched, and the second book will be out near the beginning of the year. There will not be a preorder for it, so keep an eye out.
When the series started, it was amazing, I loved the struggles, and the fact that while he had a great ability, he still had to put work in. But slowly it got less interesting. The biggest issue for me was his one motivation to survive in a hostile world was the love of his life, and he just moves on from her because he doesn’t know how to live in the normal world. For a while that makes sense but he’s been in the normal world for a while now. It felt like the author wanted a twist and that’s all they could think of since he’d set up the mc to be op. And not only is he not with her, but he’s moved on and somehow a new woman, his ex-love, and new girl all get along and work with him and will continue too. It’s not realistic and many things later in the book are also unrealistic. While the storyline in this book isn’t bad and overall it’s still a decent series, to turn a key part and change it, and to continue to change things and add things that don’t make sense make for a story that goes from good to unrealistic to annoying. And I read to relax and enjoy new stories, not to get annoyed and angry.
It is my opinion that the author has plotted beyond their ability to write. Ignoring the caricature characters, the plot and action is forced to move in unnatural directions.
Then there are the outright errors. What is the sound of a one-handed man clapping? How does a weak man become guild leader?
The *not*-harem is ridiculous and takes up way too much time.
The first book was a strong, interesting start. The second did. Decent job at keeping the ball rolling. This one fumbles and trips over everything.
Another story that was actually pretty good til Ole let his brother go. Another instance of prolonging the story by a really bad decision by the main character.
This series and book are fascinating. I love Ole and his group of misfits. I had hoped. He would choose his old girlfriend, but Sora has been with him for over five years. He should have killed Niel when he had the chance. But he's smart and strong and things will work out. Cleansing the earth of ashen is a tall order, yet I am certain Ole and his people will succeed.
Bit of a surprising departure for Ole l, who has all of the tact of a brick. Surprise outcome for the competition. Niel gets some of what he deserves. Looking forward to the next book.
