Nestled in the tranquil rural landscape near London, I'm a British author whose journey from the world of accounting to the realm of writing has been nothing short of transformative. While I occasionally revisit my numbers-oriented past, my days are predominantly filled with the harmonious dance between crafting compelling narratives and tending to my cherished family—my husband, two children, and a lively household of four cats and one dog . In those rare leisure moments, you'll find me lost in the enchanting world of poetry, delighting in the creation (and indulgence) of decadent cakes or fervently capturing moments through the lens of my camera.
Writing emerged as my beacon of hope in navigating the labyrinth of depression and anxiety. My insatiable love for literature and the boundless horizon of travel infuses my tales with the rich tapestry of my adventures. I strive to breathe life into my stories with an air of authenticity that resonates with readers.
Within the pages of my books, you'll encounter heroes exuding charisma and rugged allure, heroines embodying both grace and tenacity, all enveloped in the cloak of dramatic suspense.
I am loving this series by Anna Edwards. All the characters in this book are brought to life by an amazing story line and Anna Edwards’ writing skills. The story of Liam and Yivi is very well written and very enjoyable. Loved the interaction between all the characters which at times had me laughing my head off. There was a mixture of drama, passion and suspense which held my attention throughout the book. I cannot wait to read more about them all.
I received an arc copy and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This book hit me very hard right in the feels. I thought Liam and Yivi's romance was a captivating blend of intense emotion, tension, heat, heart and drama that is served up with a generous sprinkle of sweetness. I loved Yivi and Liam. They were great characters that were easy to root for, generated lots of sparks and delivered an abundance of feels. This is my candid, volitional review.
I really enjoyed this, I love the men of the Saving Tate rock band. Their banter, their unwavering loyalty to each other and the way they encompass their ladies into their "family" is fabulous!
Yivi was such a surprise in the nicest of ways. Her background was so different to the usual type of heroine and definitely not your standard band groupie that Liam would expect to find in his bed the morning after a party! I loved the way she grew and developed confidence throughout, following her difficult and very different upbringing, thanks in a big way to Liam. Awww Liam was such a sweetheart, a rocker with the softest, kindest and most protective heart, even though Yivi had the potential to take everything. I loved him!
Beat With Me can be read as a standalone, but I'd recommend reading book one to get a real feel for the wonderful connection the band members have. It had humour, intrigue, suspense, romance and the lovliest of couples. They didn't have it easy, but they were both worth it. I'm looking forward to what comes next for the boys of Saving Tate!
This is book 2 in Edwards' Saving Tate series and can be easily listened to as a standalone. Our focus on this book is band mate and drummer Liam and the woman he falls hard and fast for Yivi. Btw, I love this name - so unique. Dual narration by Bryant Walker and Isabelle Turner was wonderfully done and brought these characters to life. While the drunken married in Vegas storyline has been done before, this is unique in Yivi's background which I actually really enjoyed. I loved her character growth and corruption and I so enjoyed that while Liam is indeed a rockstar, he's a great guy from start to finish with the biggest heart when it comes to the people he cares about. While I thought this was a shorter listen, I thought it had all the content of sweet and steamy romance as well as some danger and action too. I adore the bands banter and the chapter titles. Overall, a really good listen and I'm looking forward to who in this band of brothers will be falling next!
This book was given to me for free at my request and I voluntarily provided this reivew. *this review is based on the audio version of this read.
Anna Edwards is a new-to-me author. I’m always on the hunt for my next favorite author, and I love the With Me In Seattle universe, so I decided to jump right into Beat With Me. It is marketed as a standalone book, even though it is a part of this author’s Saving Tate series (it’s book 2 in that series). I haven’t read book one, so I can definitively say that this is a true standalone book.
NICUnurse’s Rating: I had to think long and hard about how to proceed with this review because I always dive into a book hoping to love it. Unfortunately, that was not the case with this one. It wasn’t horrible, but I did have some issues with it. First of all, it felt a little rushed. Maybe she had a word count she had to stick to that I don’t know about, though. Regardless, this storyline had such great potential. In the beginning, my mind raced ahead to imagine several possibilities as to where the author might take it. But by the middle of the book, I felt let down. I’m not a fan of instalove, and this story was about as instalove as you can get. I would have loved to see the author expand more on the heroine’s past experiences and really dive into how that would have shaped her. And it just felt like all of the characters were floundering until the very end. Secondly, I felt like many of the heroine’s reactions to situations weren’t quite how someone in her situation would act. Again, that goes back to what I think was missed potential to truly develop a dynamic character in Yivi. And lastly, I also felt like the potential for good suspense was missed.
I hate to leave a review on a negative note, so here is what I did like about the book. I thought the author’s writing was pretty good overall. And I loved how all of the characters quickly rallied around Yivi, despite not knowing her for very long. They gave her a purpose, which helped develop some confidence in herself that proved to be very beneficial in the end. All in all, I can say that I did enjoy the time I spent in this author’s work. If you’re an instalove fan (and I know you guys are out there!), you will probably love Yivi and Liam’s story, so I hope you’ll give them a chance.
I give Beat With Me by Anna Edwards 3 out of 5 stars.
Yiwi grew up in a restrictive, abusive cult and is quite ignorant of the ways of the world, unfamiliar with a lot of the technology and so on. Yiwi ran away from the cult because she was expected to marry a total stranger. Ironically, she ends up in Vegas and marries a total stranger anyway. Only it turns out to be a good decision. Liam is the drummer in a rock band, and quite a caring person, willing to teach her all about phones and history etc, and support her in her quest to adjust to the modern world. The rest of the band is supportive as well, and she finds her chosen family. But the leader of the cult doesn't plan to leave her alone. I liked this because it was a fresh twist on the Las Vegas drunk marriage trope due to the bride's background, and because the writing was engaging and kept my interest throughout. I finished this in one setting. Steam level: they don't recall the first time but the rest of it is memorable.
I got this book free from somewhere I forgot, where, and this is a voluntary review. Mine has a different cover and the title is Beat, but looks to be the same story.
I loved this book. This is the second book in this series I loved it just as much as the first one. This author continues to impress me with her writing skills and her attention to details. This book is no different. It is a well developed story that has characters that bring the story to life. They are connectable and make the story engaging. This is a story about Liam and Yivi. Find out what happens when they wake up married to each other. Will two strangers find a way to make this work? I really enjoyed this book and the characters made the story for me. They made it easy to read and certainly kept me turning pages. I highly recommend this book and this author.
I am loving this series and the pull Liam had towards Yivi was undeniable with such intense beautiful scenes that gives you all the feels. Emotions are high but are such great characters you have to root for them.
Yivi Ward married Liam Romero from Saving Tate the first night she met him, but they decided to stay married to keep her safe. Liam and his band mates soon realized that Yivi had been extremely sheltered from the modern world.
Beat With Me is the second book following the band Saving Tate but mixing the With Me In Seattle series and a band romance makes a good book to read. First book about the band is Sing With Me and now I want the rest of the band members stories!
Beat is all about Liam, the drummer of Saving Tate, and the woman he marries in Vegas when they are both drunk, Yivi.
Liam often does impulsive things, and this time he's done the most impulsive thing yet, gotten married. Yivi is a total innocent who ran away from home yesterday and woke up today a married woman, which was not her goal.
Yivi might have been a totally innocent soul, but she was curious about everything and she had such a great heart. She really just wanted to be happy and to know everything she could. I loved watching her grow.
Liam may be impulsive, but he really is a good guy. He will do everything he can to make sure that Yivi is safe, that she has all the opportunities possible, and that she gets all the love possible.
Beat With Me is a rock star romance and book two of the Saving Tate series and is set in the With Me In Seattle world of Kristen Proby. Liam and Yivi's love story starts out with an unexpected marriage after one crazy night of drinking. I loved Liam and Yivi and it made cheering for these two to get their HEA that much sweeter. This is a well written, page turning romance with a mix of drama, mystery, suspense, steam, and lovable characters. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Beat Saving Tate: Rockstar Romance, Book 2 By: Anna Edwards Narrated by: Bryant Walker, Isabelle Turner
I am loving Anna Edwards’ “Saving Tate” series, the characters and storylines are not only amazing, but they are original too. This second book brings us Liam Romero’s story and what a story it is. Liam is the band drummer and, after partying too much while in Vegas, he wakes up with a wife, one he has no memory of, the wedding or the woman. Ward was supposed to be married, to a man she did not know, an arranged marriage, but she fled before the ceremony took place. So it was ironic that she woke up married to a man who was a stranger to her, despite the circumstances being so different. Yivi fled the only world she knew, and everything was new to her, including alcohol, so it only took a little to get her drunk. Neither she nor Liam remember their wedding night, but he handles the morning after well. He knew she was no ordinary groupie, actually not a groupie at all, and the rest of the band picked up on that too. And after hearing some of her story, they agreed it would be best for her to hold off on an annulment and stay together for a year. Everyone was on board with that, and she would assist Zoey while they were touring with the band. I loved the camaraderie amongst the band members and Zoey, with Yivi fitting right in with them all. It was great to watch Liam and Livi get to know each other and deepen their bond and relationship even more. I thought they were fabulous together and for each other. I loved all the layers of this story and how everything played out, the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. This book captivated my attention from start to end, it is entertaining and has plenty of drama, a touch of angst, some charming and heartwarming moments, heartfelt emotions and a wonderful romance. Anna Edwards, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧 📚🎧 Bryant Walker and Isabelle Turner did a fabulous job bringing these characters to life, giving each their own voice, making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. Their portrayal of the characters was spot on and they were believable in every role they played. Walker rocked as Liam, grasping all aspects of his personality, from his caring and patient side to his hot-headedness. Turner played Yivi’s role with perfection, grasping her naivety and insecurities and grew as she did. Both were equally amazing covering the roles of the rest of the bandmates, Zoey and the other secondary characters, too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling each one. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their narration elevated this already fantastic story to another level. Anna Edwards, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
Beat Saving Tate: Rockstar Romance, Book 2 By: Anna Edwards Narrated by: Bryant Walker, Isabelle Turner
What happens in Vegas does not always stay in Vegas. Liam, the drummer for Saving Tate, has found himself married to Yivi. Neither has a recollection of the night before, but the chemistry is real, and the evidence of consummating the marriage is evident. But where will that leave these two? Annulment sounds like the best idea. Keep it quiet, and no one will ever know. But the more Liam gets to know Yivi, the more he is not willing to give her up. She suggests they stay married to prevent her from having to go home, and a plan is hatched. But will they be able to spend time together and not develop real feelings? This is a feel good, warm and loving story, until it's not. Anna Edwards melds together a past that comes back to haunt Yivi and threaten the her safety. Just enough suspense to keep me on edge and lots of romance to keep my heart happy, I fell in love. Plus we get to see all the band members again, which is like coming home to family. I can't wait for book 3!
Bryant Walker and Isabelle Turner bring this gem alive. Walker has an incredible voice that can be so warm and tender. As Liam, he pulls out all the stops, bringing so much feeling into the budding relationship. Turner has to find the innocence and purity in Yivi to create this amazing character. She brings out the naivete and lets her experience and grow. Loved these two together and enjoyed the listen.
To start with, I really enjoyed the first book in this series and with that being said this one did not hit the mark for me. The dialog was super stilted and did not smoothly accompany the story.
It's the story of Liam and Yivi falling in love which is in theory a great story. Starts out a little straightforward a bad Vegas marriage and ends in love. The story that's in between is pretty straight on, there aren't a lot of twists and turns.
Yivi's character is definitely very naïve. The way she's grown up until this point leads to her not having exactly the greatest view of the world. She learns a lot of things throughout the book, discovers a bit about herself. I do think there's a difference between being naïve and un educated which she's supposedly uneducated as well. But after a week of "learning how to read" she's reading a history book. It seem a little far fetched to me.
Liam sort of just made me feel a little off. Definitely a good person on the inside and the outside but it was like some weird connection between him and Yivi from the beginning. And there are some questionable scenes between him and his family.
Overall, it wasn't the worst read of my year but I am not looking forward to the next book in the series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Harmony "Yivi" Ward and Liam Romero may start out as strangers strung together by a drunken trip down the aisle, but I love how Liam and the rest of the band handle it. My heart went out to her as she was thrust into a world outside the compound she grew up in.
I’m not sure I’d thought through my escape plan very well. -- Yivi Ward
I love the support that comes from this found family as they're thrown some curve balls. And I love how they all help Yivi adjust to this new, modern world, encouraging her to get her GED and discover the world.
This story is really terrific. I love their group conversations. Then there's chemistry that explodes. 💣🔥💥🎉 It's hot! And that business at the very end? Color me intrigued!
I received an author's copy of the audio book. The narrators are new to me, I think. Bryant Walker and Isabelle Turner are both easy to listen to, and I really like them.
The story started off a bit rough for me. The leading man Liam kept saying things like “we made a mistake” or “we did something so stupid” in the beginning of the story to the leading lady Vivi and it came across as a bit too harsh in my opinion, even if true they both felt in some ways it was true. It just wasn’t sitting well with me how he was saying it or how often their relationship was referred to that way. Also, there was the fact that Liam would say certain things like describing himself as “hot drummer for one of the best rock bands” and it came across as overly cocky and kind of off putting. On the other hand, from the very beginning, I loved Vivi. I started to warm up to Liam as the story continued luckily. But he had a lot of hot head moments throughout that had me shaking my head or wondering what the heck he was thinking. The story as a whole built up and got more interesting and entertaining as it continued. I liked the other band members and would actually check out those books on audio as well if given the chance. Especially if it was with these same narrators. They both did a great job on this story and I enjoyed listening to both performers. TheFlockVIPReviewTeam
I came into this series late, on this second installment but didn’t feel lost so if you missed book 1, don’t let that stop you. The female lead had escaped from a cult and IT WAS SO FUN and overall well done as far as plausibility and how I think continuity would work in this sort of situation. It made things incredibly interesting and added an element of danger that kept me hooked.
🎤 Rockstars. 🕍 Vegas. 🎤 Danger. 🕍 Cult escapee. 🎤 Life on the road … and on the run. 🕍 V!rginal heroine … also very innocent, naive at times, but still brilliant and perceptive. 🎤 Confrontations. 🕍 Extortion. 🎤 Fresh start at life (for female lead). 🕍 Strong familial ties (with bandmates and actual family).
Overall: A fun, fast-paced read. Would absolutely read more from this author and in this series. 4 stars.
Audio: 🦩 Both narrators were flawless with smooth voices and epic performances. Overall sound quality is perfect. 5 stars.
I recently immersed myself in the audiobook version, and it captivated me not only by the whirlwind romance between Liam Romero and Yivi Ward but also by the exceptional narration provided by Bryant Walker and Isabelle Turner. Their compelling delivery brought the unexpected marriage to life, enhancing the intricate weaving of the couple's complex relationship with Yivi's haunting past. Walker and Turner's ability to capture the humor and loyalty within the Saving Tate band made the characters resonate like family. Anna Edwards masterfully balances suspense and romance, with Walker and Turner adding depth and emotion to each moment. Despite the familiar Vegas wedding trope, Walker and Turner's unique backstories and engaging performances made Liam and Yivi's journey a standout experience, making this a must-listen for romance enthusiasts.
Interesting story. Because these HOT ROCKERS are such good caring peeps Liam befriends this scared-looking little lady. Yuvi just escaped from a Nevada-based Cult and landed in Las Vegas. Everything is new and wild and scary. Liam takes one look at her and invites her along for some partying. After having drinks they wake up together...in bed...married??? When Liam contemplates what he wants to do about the marriage he thinks there might be something between them. He wants to hold off on finalizing anything. Yivi is a sweet innocent girl who's been sheltered and raised as a beader for this cult. She knows nothing of the modern world and Liam and the Saving Tate family take her in and offer her education and protection. I'm into this series. Waiting on Bk 3 Base. Linda
Liam wakes up in Vegas and he’s married. He has the father of all hangovers and a brand new wife who he doesn’t remember. Yivi ran away from her old life and from an arranged marriage. Now on a drunken night in Vegas she’s married to a stranger. She’s quickly made part of this motley crew because she’s sweet and innocent and they realize she’s not in it for money and fame. This is a really sweet love story but I keep wondering if her old life is going to catch up with her. Yes Yivi’s life catches up but the guys get together in a spectacular way, I love a good ending and this one doesn’t disappoint. I loved this story and I’m giving it five stars and highly recommend it. Now it’s on to book three.
A very interesting listen with an unique twist on the whole drunken marriage in Vegas story. The drummer and the...well guess I'd be spoiling it since that isn't in the blurb! But the seemingly disastrous mistake may be fate after all. I loved how protective the band members are, not only of each other but also Yivi when they discover her past that she's running from. Funny banter and truthful call outs, the band is a family and includes Yivi wholeheartedly, allowing her to find her true home and forever love. Now, I could have done without the hastags...I'm too old for that mess I guess haha, but at least it was only at the beginning of every chapter. Narrators did a good job bringing the characters to life.
I LOVED this story. It is a slow-burn, insta-love story that I devoured. I haven't read the first story in the series so can attest that this is a standalone book. It made me smile and was a feel good book.
Yivi was raised in a cult and was being forced to marry a man she had never met but instead, ran away. She woke the next day after a night of drinking and found herself married to Liam, a rockstar. Watching these 2 build a relationship and fall in love was amazing.
I loved that the story was dual-POV and how protective Liam is. Yivi and Liam are the perfect couple. I would highly-recommend this story!
This second book in the series had a little more story to it than the first one. It wasn't all sex and dirty talk (which I don't mind but book 1 went a bit overboard). It was nice to see Liam not act like a typical rock star who just found out they were married (go straight for a divorce), but actually take care of Yivi and fall in love with her and learn about her, and he was very patient with helping her adjust to life on the outside, so to speak. The author, I think, needs to watch a few American TV shows to get our lingo, as she still uses British terms a lot for a band based out of Seattle, which made me read in a British accent in my mind. I'm already reading book 3 in the series.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Loved it! I enjoyed listening to their story. This is an Insta love story. Yivi is escaping the compound she grew up in and wakes up to find herself married to Liam who is a famous drummer but living a sheltered life she doesn't know who he is. This is the second story in the series but can be read/listened to as a standalone, but if your like me you'll want to read/listen to all of them. Love how Liam finds himself trying to protect and teach Yivi and discovers he has feelings for her even though they haven't know each other that long and she feels the same. Love the other band mates and can't wait for their stories.
