This series is very good. The character development, plot twists and turns, and the overall story arc are well done. I can't wait to see what happens next!
When the main character of the book has what amounts to maybe 10 chapters of storyline, your probably doing way too much. I understand that your trying to build the story for the other characters, but how does the story work if you've got more chapters on random new people then the main focal point. It's a shame because I absolutely loved the first two books.
The way Matt builds his world is one of the things that makes me enjoy this series so much. He is biulding it in three dimensions in the world and against time. Not only are the Ronin gradually building their team of nine, they are also recalling certain memories of the Ronin from ages past. And just because they are the new Ronin does not mean they are ready to join up with the new team. In a few cases it is quite the opposite!
I really enjoy as these young Ronin begin developing their abilities and start realizing what they are up against as they grow.
This a great story, love the characters and how they are being devoloped. The story grabs you makes you keep reading. I think you would be satisfied reading this series and won't be disapponted. Great Reading Everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!
The first book in this series did such an awesome job raising ones expectations relatively speaking this installment was a sad let down. From a story telling standpoint I found extremely frustrating when the author consistently repeated the same events from another character perspective while adding nothing to the overall plot or storyline. Additionally compared to the relatively succinct writing of the first book this installment felt very disjointed and at times impractical. Major let down. I think this maybe it for me. Apologies
This book kept me on my toes and felt impossible to put down. It’s so shockingly real yet magical at the same time, so it was a sad day when I finished it and couldn’t put myself in that realm anymore. I think anyone considering reading the book should go for it because I know I wish I could read it for the first time again!
If like to give. 4.5 stars really. So the book was a great follow up really. It kept me on my toes and I really enjoyed all the twists and surprises. Again it really does keep on giving, new and interesting characters and relationships, thrilling adventure full of suspense. It is jam packed with magic and intrigue. I do think that because of all the different perspectives there’s was a bit too much repetition of parts of the story. However, still a brilliant read and I sing it’s praises. I’m looking forward to the next addition.
