Who doesn't love a sexy, dominant fireman?

After a tough breakup, Lexa Mae decides she needs a change. From the southern plains of South Dakota, Lexa books a hotel room and spa package at the prestigious Sterling Hotel in Times Square.

Looking forward to a relaxing getaway, Lexa's fun is spoiled the moment handsome fireman Jules Sinclair knocks on her door ordering an evacuation. Wearing nothing but a towel, she slams the door in his face, unwilling to leave just yet.

Forced from the hotel as an explosion rocks the seventh floor, Lexa has managed to secure her dress but no panties as the handsome fireman rescues her from the burning flames. With no friends in the city and her belongings destroyed, she has nowhere else to go.

Jules invites Lexa to the fire station, offering her clothes, shelter, and even a hard spanking for dismissing his order to evacuate.

Will she learn to submit to Jules, or is the heat just too much?

Jules is one dominant, sexy man, "he gently guided Lexa onto her back as he towered above her. “I never sleep on the couch. Have sex on it, yes, but sleep, no.” Jules is a pretty outspoken guy, “I want to eff you,” Jules said, growling at her like an animal in heat." I loved this book, Jules was seriously one sexy man.

I'm sorry, but no. Aside from the fact that this needs another go at editing, there were so many elements that were off, wrong, or rushed that I couldn't bear to grace it with a three. How is it even remotely ok to spank your gay female blood cousin... on her bare @$$? Not to mention taking someone to the fire station then home after a fire call and getting them to move in that same day? There were also inconsistencies throughout. On one part she's offered $10,000 for her story, on another it's $1,000 for the same. I usually refrain from bad reviews but you asked for my honesty so there it is.

CHEMICAL SPARKS
I loved this story, with mystery and suspense, a murderer/arsonist, a new romance, making changes in her life and moving forward. The chemistry between Lexa and Jules keeps the pages turning. His dominance to her submission feeds both their desires and fantasies. The plot kept me captivated, the cast of characters were entertaining and the dialog was witty. The steamy romance between Jules and Lexa sizzles on the pages.

Lexa Mae needs a vacation after breaking up with a man she didn't love. She goes from her trailer in South Dakota to a top hotel in Time Square New York City. She hears gunshots, but goes ahead with her shower. While in the shower, there is someone pounding at the door. Dressed in a towel, she opens it to a handsome fireman telling her to evacuate. She slams the door, then grabs a dress as there is an explosion in the hotel. The fireman busts in to rescue her, and carries her to his truck.

Jules Sinclair is amazed she didn't obey him, even if she was only wearing a towel. The explosion could have killed them both. With the hotel on fire, Lexa has lost her clothes, I.D., and money. Jules takes her to the fire station to provide her with a change of clothes and a spanking.

Lexa Mae responds to his spanking and is attracted to him. But is it just a fireman fantasy or can this build into a deep relationship?

Fast moving story with a feisty redhead brat and a dominate fireman. The story has family drama, murder and suspense.

Fire Licked is a fun, sexy novella with plenty of heat and emotion. It's a fairly short read, but it really packs a punch. It was easy to read and it managed to keep my attention from start to finish. There is a nice element of mystery/suspense to the story too.

After a bad break up Lexa books a luxury trip to New York, but things don't go to plan when her hotel catches fire. When fireman Jules knocks at Lexa's hotel room door during the evacuation, he's shocked when she answers the door wearing only a towel - and then slams the door in his face! Eventually rescued by Jules from a huge explosion she is left with nothing but the clothes she's wearing (which don't include panties!). The hunky fireman takes her to the firehouse and offers her shelter, food and clothing - plus a spanking for disobeying his initial orders to evacuate the hotel. As sparks fly between them, can Lexa learn to submit to Jules?

Both main characters have a lot of depth to them and you can't help but like them. Jules is totally awesome. He's a hunky, heroic, dominant firefighter - what more could you possibly want in a hero? The chemistry between him and Lexa is sizzling which makes for some very hot moments. The plot line is interesting, the characters are likeable and the sex scenes are hot - Fire Licked receives four and a half stars.

There is nothing not to love in this book...firemen...right there you know you can't go wrong, add dominant to that and you know it's going to be an incredible book. Lexa has gone off to New York to get away from her small town life. She has just broken off her relationship and needs some away time. As she is showering in her hotel room, she hears a gun shot, then a fireman storms in her room, telling her she has to evacuate! She throws on a dress and runs out the door. There is an immediate connection with Jules. He takes her back to the fire station, and their relationship begins. He is a dominant and she is a natural submissive. Taking his punishment from the first night they are together, their chemistry is unbeatable (no pun intended). There are several obstacles in their way. Lexa decides she want to move to NYC, but she needs a job. Jules's cousin works for a paper, and he tries to get Lexa a job through her. I find his cousin to be a troublemaker, and though she is a lesbian, she just seems to like to stir the pot. Lexa does seem to get herself into trouble pretty often, and gets her punishment. Will it be too much for her to handle? Read it and find out!

Marie Smith is the narrator of this audiobook. I love her New York accent for Jules and the other firefighters. Hoping she does more narrating, she was very pleasing to the ear and made the time go quickly.

I'm sorry I just cant with this book. There is basically nothing I liked about it. This was a short read and I am usually ok with instalove in short book but nothing about this couple worked for me. They were together for literally like a hour and the hero is talking about the heroine being his girlfriend. She doesn't even live in the same city. The whole romance was just too much. The BDSM elements did not work for me. Jules being a dominant didn't work for me. I think this book tried to put too much in a short story. There was nothing I liked about Jules. I couldn't tell if he wanted a girlfriend or a pet because all he did was basically boss Lexa around and get mad when she didn't do what he thought she should do. I feel like this story could have been better because it had the bones to it. The writing wasn't bad, just the elements of the story were. I would be willing to read another book from this author but I would not recommend this book to anyone. 1 star for the story.

I listened to the audio book and the narrator was ok. I really didn't really like any of the male characters but she did really well with the females. I would be also willing to listen to another book from the narrator as long as they characters don't have a NY accent. 2.5 stars for that narration.

I enjoyed the characters of this story quite a bit, especially sexy, dominant Jules - but I felt the book lacked some substance. It had a good premise, but unless they were going to get into solving the crime that occurred, that part seemed to just be off topic and more fluff or filler than anything. I would have enjoyed it more if they had somehow been in on figuring out the mystery if it was going to be written into the book at all.

Lexa Mae has left her home in South Dakota after a break-up with her boyfriend to vacation and have some relaxing down time in New York City. Unfortunately, it doesn't turn out that way exactly because as soon as she checks into her hotel, chaos starts.

Jules Sinclair is drawn to the sexy woman that opens the hotel room with only a towel wrapped around her when he is ordering the evacuation of the hotel. He takes her under his wing and gives her some clothes and a place to stay after she is left with nothing after an explosion at the hotel. He also has to take her over his knee and teach her how to behave!

I liked the way this story unfolded. Lexa is a journalist from a small town in South Dakota
who is running away from a relationship. She runs to New York, where her trip takes a
turn when a bomb explodes in the hotel she is staying in. A sexy fireman, Jules rescues her.
The two of them hit it off and she stays with him while she tries to recover her driver’s license
and debit card that was destroyed in the fire.
Jules is an old fashioned kind of guy that believes in DD. He spanks Lexa for her not leaving
the hotel when he banged on her door before the explosion. He also falls madly in love with
her and wants to protect her. There were a lot of things going on in Lexa’s life. She wanted
independence and didn’t know if she could trust Jules.
Some of the spankings Jules gave Lexa I felt weren’t justified, but if she was ok with it, well I
guess it was ok. The spankings were mild with hand and paddle. There were sexual scenes which
included anal sex and oral sex. It was a cute story. It had a happy ending.

I was drawn to this book because it had an awesome cover. Unfortunately, I liked the cover far more than the actual story itself. Overall, it seemed very rushed and generally under developed. The characters pretty much say hello and then jump right into domination/spanking which seemed rather over-the-top. It doesn't feel like it gives an accurate depiction of how dom/sub relationships work, even at their very early stages. I have read more books than I can count that have had dom/sub relationships. I also know many people who are in the lifestyle that state a dom/sub relationship works on trust and it just isn't there in this relationship as it should be. Anyone considering entering the lifestyle do not use this relationship as how a dom/sub relationship should be. *I received my copy through NetGalley.com in exchange for an honest review*

I really liked and enjoyed this book. Lexa breaks up with her boyfriend Clarence and heads for a spa break in New York. Lexa reaches her hotel in New York and goes to her room. She swears she hears gun shots but thinks nothing of it. She's in the shower when a fire fighter Knicks in her door. She has a towel around her and she answers the door - Jules, a fire fighter, is standing outside her hotel room door. Their meeting is incredibly funny - she literally slams the door in his face whilst she gets dressed. Jules is a dominant guy and he definitely takes charge by taking Lexa back to the fire station. They are both attracted to each other and the sex scenes are steamy and hot. Thoroughly enjoyed this book, nice, short but most importantly kept my attention throughout the whole book. I'll be definitely looking out for other titles from this author as this book certainly didn't disappoint.

Lexa has just arrived in NY for vacation after breaking up with her boyfriend. Within a matter of hours, the hotel she’s staying at is bombed and she’s being rescued by Jules, a fireman from a local fire department.
At first I had a lot of hope for this book. Totally saw the attraction, etc. Then, within a few chapters, my opinion started to change a bit. Then I thought maybe it was supposed to be erotica, which would’ve explained what I felt was lacking. But then, the sex scenes just weren’t. I really just didn’t like this book. I don’t recommend.

I very much wanted to like this book and it sounded hot, with an awesome cover. Unfortunately, the story was rushed, the romance feels under developed, and the domination/spanking aspect too controlling. It doesn't feel accurate to the kink community or a healthy representation of a dom/sub relationship, even in it's early stages. It's all about trust and the amount of time in the book spent on it - and the amount of time Jules is angry - does not feel like there is a solid level of trust. A level of lust, maybe, but not trust. It also feels like it ends abruptly.
