Well life for Ruby as become weird and so beyond anything she’s ever dreamed possible or should I say it’s a complete nightmare!! But after everything she’s learnt recently shes finally starting to come to terms with the fact she’s a blessed wolf and that witches and wolfs are real but not the only supernatural’s out there and maybe more importantly Ruby trusts far to easy..
After the mate rejection from Connor she’s introduced to Tristan on a night out omg she feels something for someone other than Connor maybe she can move on there’s just one small hiccup Tristan is not all what he seems yes he’s complete eye candy and yes Ruby feels a strong attraction to him but Tristan is hiding something in-fact a lot of secrets and for Ruby some of them are life changing as amongst other things Tristans a vampire!! Can a wolf fall out of love with it’s mate and love a vampire, can a vampire be trusted to love her enough and not kill her from feeding an what is Ruby going to do about some of this new information as she’s now become one of the missing and part of something that no one saw coming ohh an Connor is now engaged yip a lot to deal with!! What comes next is anyone’s guess.

Love Michelle’s books can’t wait to see what happens next.. think we might need more than 3 as they are addictive lol hint hint 😂

This book left me in an emotional turmoil. It was NOT what I was expecting. I didn't hate it but I didn't like it as much as I thought I would either. Left me with more questions than answers.

The book focused mainly on the mate bond between Ruby and Connor which is weaker than ever. The two of them don't even meet once and all of Connor's POVs are enraptured by Autumn while Ruby is gushing over Tristan. I am so confused as to what the author has planned for their relationship.

Tristan is a mystery to me. His feelings for Ruby seem genuine but it's hard for me to get past the blood bond. Not to mention his deals with the Blood Coven.

The Blood Coven seem interesting. I get the feeling that there is far more to them than what we've been introduced to so far. Curious to see where that goes.

Overall, the story was interesting enough for me to want to know what happens next. It didn't draw me in like the first book did and definitely left me feeling a lot more confused. Looking forward to the next book and desperately hoping to get some answers to all the endless questions. Also hoping to see an improvement in Connor and Ruby's relationship.

Awesome second book with Ruby and her new witch friend Hazel. Ruby is imprisoned in a basement cell with a vampire Tristan as her fated mate is planning his wedding to Autumn. Great story and can't wait for book3!

Worst than the first

I didn’t think the writing could get worse. Maybe stayed on par with the first, but no. Reading the books back to back, Ruby suddenly has knowledge of supernaturals she didn’t have and, considering the timeline, we didn’t see anyone giving it to her. She knows about fae and how they don’t like other supernaturals and the fact that the have a Summer Court and Winter Court. Considering no one has spoken to her about fae or had a reason to, why would she suddenly know this? And please don’t tell me it’s because she read fantasy and shifter books because I addressed that complete crap in book 1’s review. She knew nothing!

Then there’s her complete lack of the ability to sense other supernaturals. After all the things that happen to her in book 1 with betrayal, she so easily trust EVERYONE, while saying she is going to be wary and all of that. Each group she’s met, the wolves, the witches and now the vampires, it only takes her a day, tops, to start trusting them and feeling like they will protect her! And she’s been with each group, except the vampires, for about three days total.

Now, she’s in another trapped type situation, knowing nothing about their magic or capabilities and she thinks she’s in love with Tristan. Never mind the fact that she was constantly drawn to the necklace he was wearing of Dominic’s. Never mind that she notices that when she touches it it makes her feel safe and loved and she forgets about Conner. Never mind the fact that Hazel said something to that effect when they through Tristan in the cell with her. Prior to Tristan going down there, his conversation with Hazel implied that he had hypnotized Ruby or something the night he met her at the bar. I feel like it’s the eyes and since she was looking in his eyes from the moment he walked in, he was doing something to her.

Maybe it’s hard to tell the story from the person’s POV instead of third person because it makes the character look stupid when they don’t see or notice the things that are being disclosed to us although it’s being said in their own inner monologue, like Ruby constantly clutching the necklace and how it makes her feel, the power she feels exuding from the necklace.

Anyway moving on, the way this story is going I feel like maybe Ruby’s going to be part fae or something. It might explain the turquoise eyes since fae tend to be colorful. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Well she once she gets there and sees the fae. I think someone, Connor maybe, said in book 1 something about her ethereal beauty and Jax said something about her looks when assigning her servant duties for the royals.

See my notes and highlights of Goodreads. Happy reading!

Nothing happened. She was kidnapped by the vampires. She let a vampire feed from her because of the fake feelings he has caused by the neckless he wears. She can't leave. It's amazing how she has been rejected, but her wolf seems to not be able to move on whilst her "mate" is bedding his now fiance with minimal issue from his wolf.

Still not learned about herself, how to use her magic, how to shift, or why she can't tell anyone about her eyes.

I'm not gonna bother with the rest of the series. It just lacks plot.

Highly unimpressed

Definitely not what I expected from this authoress, especially after having read so many of her books. Skipped through quite a few pages looking for the plot and highlight only to never find it. I was waiting for this book to be released and am disappointed. Hopefully the next book more than makes up for this.

Disappointed

More like a book report than a book. The female MC becomes a weak and foolish person and the male MC a blithering idiot. By the time you finish the very very short book you can't stand either one of them.

The story is well written.

The MFC has it really hard. She is weak and easily lead. No one truly cares about her, and she is in denial about it. Her life just keeps getting worse with no positive to look forward to. I'm not going to read the next one.

No words.

Another author, another book that has left me speechless. There is so much I can say to describe how I am feeling right now, but I wouldn’t even know where to begin. I have been looking forward to Shadow Moon ever since I finished Blood Moon, I was eager to see what awaits everyone next, especially Ruby, what would happen with her and Connor. When I turned the last page of Shadow Moon I was left with more questions and craving for more of the story. I couldn’t help but wanting more of Ruby’s story, especially after that cliffhanger at the end of the book. I found myself asking: ‘Now what will happen, and how will that change everything?’ How could I not ask question after that cliffhanger, and despite what happened in this book, even I didn’t even see that coming. Those are my favorite types of stories.

I loved Tristan from the moment that he was introduced, there was something about him. There was a connection between Tristan and Ruby that there wasn’t between Ruby and Connor, despite them being mates. Tristan cares about Ruby, the way I’m not sure that Connor ever will. There are moments where Connor feels a pull towards Ruby, but it’s not the same connection that Ruby and Tristan have. I can’t help but wonder what would happen with the two of them next, will the two of them stay together, how would Connor feel about it? I have a feeling that more drama is about to unfold in the next book. I do find myself hoping that she would end up with Tristan, the two of them fit together better.

I knew that Autumn was bad news from the moment that she was introduced in the first book. I’m not sure what she has planned to break bond between Connor and Ruby, but I have a bad feeling that it can’t be anything good. I wonder what damage she will cause to Connor and her relationship when he finds out what she has planned. Shadow Moon is a story that you will be thinking about it long after turning the last page, I’m already eager for the next book in the series to come out.

I enjoyed the first book in this series and I was really looking forward to this book releasing! I was lucky enough to receive an ARC, so I stated reading it straightaway! After reading, I can say that I really enjoyed this book! It only took me a few sittings to read because I was intrigued as to what was going to happen next! I also didn’t read the synopsis before I started reading so I had no idea what was going to happen in the plot! The plot developed quickly and I loved the direction it went in and it actually surprised me because I wasn't expecting it to go in the direction it went in! There was romance in the plot and a love triangle! I loved the romance and the way it developed because I’m now intrigued as to how it’s going to play out as the series continues! There was also some action and suspense, which added a lot to the plot! The characters were again amazing and made this book even better! Ruby was again the main character, and in this book I felt for her because she was trapped and wasn’t sure who she could trust! Ruby tried her best to stay strong and I loved her attitude and that she was scared but still stood up for herself! I really liked Ruby and connected with her all the way through this book! There was a love triangle in this book and it was between Ruby, Connor and Tristan! The first book focused on the romance between Ruby and Connor and this book focused on the romance between Ruby and Tristan! Connor also made appearances in this book, but he didn’t actually have any scenes with Ruby! I have to be honest and say that I’m not sure if I can trust Tristan, but I guess we'll see as the series continues! This book was mainly written from Ruby’s point of view, but there were also chapters written from Connor, Autumn and Tristan’s point of views as well! I could understand why the majority was written through Ruby’s eyes because it was her journey and I enjoyed the other characters being able to play a bigger part of the plot! It allowed for more things to happen in the plot because the main characters spent all of the book apart and it helped me connect with all the characters as well! I now can’t wait to read the next book in this series! The ending was left at the perfect place to lead into the next book and it wasn’t left at a big cliffhanger! The next book releases in July, which isn’t long of a wait at all! I’ll definitely be reading it as soon as it releases! The cover for this book also suits it perfectly! I love how well it matches the cover for the first book and that it has the same cover model on it! It would draw me to the book as well if I didn't already know the author's name! Big thank you to Michelle for an ARC of Shadow Moon!

I absolutely love Michelle Madow, and for the most part I’ve loved her books. When she announced that she was going to start this series in a whole new world, I was so excited. When I read Blood Moon I absolutely loved it.
When I read this book, I wanted to love it. But honestly I just didn’t. I generally like books where you can’t tell what’s going to happen next, with twists and turns to keep you on your toes. With this book though, I didn’t like it. When Ruby gets kidnapped I was genuinely surprised and intrigued to see where things would go. However I was disappointed with everything after that. I feel like her interactions with the humans could have been more meaningful or just more in general.
I like that Ruby is still thinking ahead and not blindly trusting the coven, reminding herself of what’s important to her. What I didn’t like though, was how blindly she trusted and quickly fell for Tristian. In the first book she seemed to be growing and becoming a more confident and assertive person. But then In this book that progress is ruined in moments. I appreciated that the author had Ruby and Tristian meet prior to her captivity, to establish an original attraction and spark between them. Even if the bar scene did seem a little too much too fast at the time, and slightly unbelievable. However I don’t think that was enough to be a basis for Tristian to love her and want to be bonded with her from the start. What reason did he have to go along with the coven’s plan, and bind himself to someone he had only meet once and spent limited time with. I think that if they were given more time and interactions together, they really could have fallen for each other outside of the blood bond. However, many scenes, and this book as a whole, seemed rushed.
I am still interested in seeing where things go with these characters, finding out more about the coven and their plans, and of course seeing what happens with Ruby and Connor’s mate bond as well as her blood bond with Tristian. And I will impatiently wait for the next book in this series. However, I am disappointed that there wasn’t more happening in this book.

I volunteered to review an advanced copy of this book

I read this and blood moon in a day and omg, the amount of stress this book gave me. I cried so many times while reading and let me tell you how hard it is to hide tears while you are commuting or at work, even after finishing this book I thought about things and kept crying. Ruby has gone through so much in just a couple of weeks after knowing the supernatural world; Connor... Goodness, I hope he comes to his senses before the date he put in, but I feel that because of the character he has something has to happen to make him wake up; as for Tristan.... Nope, just nope, I feel like I could have given him the benefit of the doubt but he has been manipulating things since the beginning and even though I feel like I still could have forgiven him for it, he is still doing it and at this point in their relationship it's too much, also I feel as if Ruby deserves better, she has being lied and manipulated multiple times and for the little I've seen the only way for her to be with him is to reject her shifter side, which she still hasn't been able to fully come to terms to.
So for now, I'm rooting for Connor, yes, he rejected her but I can understand his reasoning and respect him for it, I feel like the biggest bad thing he's done is trying to rush thing while he still so confused.
I really really hope that for the next book Ruby find out the truth, but I really don't see how she can get out and who she can go to for help, maybe alert Connor about the snake but I also don't want to make things easy for him, that boy needs to grovel for a long long time, my girl needs to make him work for it, something that shouldn't been hard, given how much she has been betrayed in such a short time
I usually don't write reviews with spoilers, but my gosh.... I had to rant xDD
I'm so soo looking forward for the next book, stressing about it really....

Ruby is kidnapped by her “friend” Hazel and thrown in a prison. Come to find out Benjamin and Tristan are actually vampires working with witches. Ruby is being held in New York at a different wolf clan who is working with the witches. These witches are called the blood coven. They are obviously evil. Ruby finds out that the kidnapped humans are down in the cellar where she is being held. They are being held for certain vampires to feed off. Except when you are bitten and fed from a vampire you create a bond and they are in love with their captures/vampire. Ruby gets close to Tristan. Hazel and the witches goal is to gain Rubys trust through him to help them do their dirty work. She eventually agrees to help and is freed from the cell and given an elaborate attic to stay in. He and Tristan begin getting closer but finally after being drugged her inner wolf has a thing or two to say about being close to a vampire. In order for Ruby to surprise her wolf she has Tristan feed off her more often. Which in turn creates a bond of love between the two.

This book was more focused on Tristan and Ruby becoming close but there’s something at play here. I’m curious to see how it comes together and all the secrets. I also can’t wait for Connor to find out that autumn was involved with Rubys kidnapping.

Not bad but the book is too short in my opinion. It needs to be longer.
What bothers me is that we have yet to find out why FMC was told to tell no one about her real eye color, we didn’t really learn anything about the north star tattoo.
It got annoying that the FMC wolf would get involved when she kissed Tristan but Conner’s wolf was quiet when he would fornicate with Autumn.
Other than that this series isn’t bad, but it’s hard to get anywhere when the books are on the shorter side.

I feel bad for Ruby, she literally has no one. I keep hoping the moon goddess will visit her and tell what she should do because she seems to have a lot of bad things happening to her.

Added note: I still don’t like Conner. At one point, when the FMC first met Tristan, I thought maybe she had two mates.

It's a good book.. until it's not.. I was having a lot of mixed thoughts about whether I should continue the series or not. So I went and read reviews on the next couple of books and realized, "You know, it's just not gonna be it for me." I read a great review on the last book, and I agree with her. There's just a lot of things that are happening all at once, and she stated that so many things were left unresolved in the end, and I'm good. It was really good, it had me interested, and I was really involved and into the story, and then I just realized the main female was just dumber than a bag of rocks and there was so much potential in what could happen and just not executed the way I would like.

OMG, this second book is incredible and every bit as good if not better than book one. Rejected by her mate, wolf shifter Ruby who is also been star touched by the gods has been shunned by her pack and sent to live with a coven of witches. Then if that wasn’t bad enough Ruby is kidnapped and trapped in a cell with a vampire, Tristan who the blood coven want him to feed of Ruby and force a bond with her so they can control her powers. It’s exciting, it’s thrilling, it’s captivating and full of twists and turns and surprises as we see Ruby and Tristan grow closer, but we are left with some questions. This is an amazing addition to this incredible series and I am anxious for the next book.

Oh. Em. Gee. I’m not even sure what to say. Since the beginning of this, I kept thinking it would go one way, and instead- I kept being wrong. I kept thinking Conner would smarten up. I kept thinking hazel was a good guy- or mostly. I kept thinking Tristan wasn’t a real contender. I kept thinking ruby isn’t being forced to make all these crappy decisions and have more devastating things. Wrong…. On all accounts lol. And autumn…. Yeah I don’t have anything nice to say. The rest- I’m going to leave up to you to read so y’all can be speechless too! I’m going straight to book 3!

I dnf at about 70%, because of the odd relationship that Ruby and Tristan had. Fated mates are one thing but a blood bond that's basically forced on a person who's options are to either die, or kill someone from hunger, are two wildly different things. It's not a horrible book at all, just not my cup of tea. Where it lacked action and intensity, was replaced by stubborn alpha and a girlfriend who "valued fated mates over all" and saw it as "respected", was a liar who wanted Ruby dead.

Gotta love a fake girlfriend who is sweet in front of the alpha and a despicable, conniving woman with the fated (rejected) partner.

I was really disappointed in Ruby in this book. In book one, she asked all the questions while trying to understand shifters and her new reality. But suddenly, she meets a vampire and asks absolutely nothing? Not even the kind of questions you’d expect from someone who grew up devouring fantasy books. The romance also felt very insta-love, which left me wondering if this is supposed to be a “vampire thing” or if that’s just how this story is written.

I’m hoping the next book gives us more explanation and depth, because right now I have questions Ruby apparently doesn’t. That said, I bought the audiobook box set, so I’ll be sticking it out to see where this goes.

This second book is every bit as good as the first.

Ruby is rejected by Connor and is now living with the witches affiliated with the pack to whom she is supposed to belong. she goes out for a girls' night out and is introduced to a gorgeous guy, to whom she is attracted.

The next thing is that she finds herself drugged and locked in a basement cell with the gorgeous guy - who turns out to be a vampire. It seems that he doesn't want to be there either, but how long can he hold out before he is hungry enough to drink from her?

These other witches want her to join them, but will she?

This book was just incredible and I couldn’t put it down. There were so many twists that I didn’t see coming and I couldn’t believe how much Ruby had to go through. I love Ruby as a character and I’m really hoping that she’ll get her revenge on quite a few of the other characters in the next book. She’s been put through so much and things need to start going her way!

I loved book 1 but book 2 was even better and I really can’t wait for book 3. You won’t regret reading this series, Michelle Madow has written another amazing story.

Not bad

I would have enjoyed the book more if part 3 was out and I had more patience. But it isn't and I don't. I like the storyline and the characters. Not Hazel. But we are basically playing a pawn in this book moving to the beat of someone else's drum. Doing what they say and what they want. Super bummer it stayed in that pace because it annoyed me and I wanted some kind of revenge or retaliation and I got none. With that being said book 3 should deliver what I wanted from this book so deff looking forward to the next book and hoping it delivers.

Fast paced easy YA book. 0 spice, but slow burn. MFC Ruby was fated mates with the alpha heir from a pack when a powerful witch stole her and kept her hostage working with the vampires. Their goal was to break the mate bond and make her blood bound to a vampire named Tristian by keeping her locked up with him and forcing him to feed off her creating a blood bond. He makes her feel loved and cared for unlike the alpha heir Connor who wants to marry his long term gf and reject the bond.

I tried to make this work but when the FMC has to go to the Fae Summer Court on a quest with a vampire she is in love with after 9 days...I gave up. The first two books span days, literally days, and she has found out she can shift into a wolf (but only once), has magical powers, been erased from her parents memories, and rejected by the future alpha (who is also her mate) . It was too much too soon for me...and with no spice whatsoflippingever I regretted ever having hope this series would turn out good.

Interesting twists and turns in this second book of the Star Touched series. Ruby spends most of it locked up in a cell, and her supposed "friend" Hazel locks Tristan ..... a hungry vampire .... in with her. Hazel had her reasons .... but can she be trusted? What about Tristan? Does he truly care for Ruby or does he too have ulterior motives? Can't wait to read the next book in the series to see!
