The Living Light

The first attempt to travel at the speed of light has been successful. Transported thousands of miles in seconds, two young astronauts, Rose and Alex, are on their way to explore Proxima b, a candidate terrestrial planet in the Alpha Centauri System 4.2 light years from Earth.

Burning through space faster than any humans in history, they realize the launch into light speed created black holes in their memory, and that all their most recent experiences have vanished without a trace. A long journey stretching out before them, they focus on getting to know each other again. And as they begin falling in love, they also discover strange and marvelous things can happen to people living in the Light. Traveling at the cosmic speed limit is full of surprises, and Rose and Alex soon learn they are not alone as the line drawn between science and the supernatural begins to fade.

About the author

I was born in Havana, Cuba. My family moved to the U.S. when I was eight months old and I grew up in Fairfax, Virginia. Reading, writing and history have been my abiding passions ever since I can remember. In college, I majored in World History, and minored in English Literature and Cultural Anthropology. My most recent works are the Biblical Romance, "Dreaming in Egypt-The Story of Asenath" and Joseph, and the non-fiction "Lucid Dreams and the Holy Spirit."

Before becoming a practicing Catholic, I wrote several erotic romances. An experienced lucid dreamer, I am a member of the International Association For the Study of Dreams, and a regular contributor to the Lucid Dreaming Experience Magazine.

An interesting book (or audiobook in the case). More to it than meets the eye.
The audiobook was read by the author, and she did a decent job.

A different way to look at God

This was an interesting read. First off I have to mention that I would love a purple sparky robe. There had to say that. Now this book takes place on a ship traveling through light speed and strange things begin to happen. Beings emerge from the pool in the gym and state that they are the guides and here to help. This confused me for a bit until I finally figured out that this book was a different take on religion, which I have to say a very interesting take. The way things happened in the settings and how the Light was actually God, I like that concept and I loved the references to Ancient Egypt- that’s my favorite time period.

Thank you Maria for reaching out to me, I enjoyed the concept and definitely makes someone think what life will be like in the distant future.

Very different read somewhere between science fiction and theology. 2 Astronauts travel on a 7 year journey through light speed. They encounter Good (light) vs. Evil(darkness) via strange sensations and out of body experiences which are both wonderful and fearful. Not a usual read for me but interesting.
