Saving Prophecy: A Christian Romance

Rate this book
The problem mare destroyed his first relationship. Will she do it again?

Emma has sworn off horses, after the unjust firing from her equestrian job.

Fulton has sworn off women who love horses, after his girlfriend left him with a long scar and a mean mare called Prophecy.

Emma’s move to remote Sinclair Island lands her next door to Fulton. The two neighbors have nothing to do with each other, until disaster strikes and Fulton is forced to solicit Emma’s help with his horses.

But his open hatred for Prophecy bothers her and she asks to retrain the dangerous animal before he sends her to auction. It’s the mare’s only chance of going to a good home.

Reluctantly Fulton gives in and during those daily training sessions, he falls in love with his attractive neighbor. But the pretty black horse has already stolen her heart, and Fulton realizes he’s again fallen for a woman who cares more about horses than him. He becomes even more determined to get rid of the mare.

Emma is devastated; she now understands her true feelings for Fulton. Her only hope of winning him back is to sacrifice the horse she adores to prove she loves him.

But can she bring herself to surrender Prophecy? Can Fulton conquer his deep distrust of women who love horses?

Unjustly fired from her job managing horses, our heroine decides to change course and to buy a house on a somewhat remote island. She discovers that the next door neighbor is the descendant of the original owners of the entire island, and he has three horses on his property. Recovering from a bad breakup from his girlfriend, he is not easy to get to know. He also tends to be bossy, and he can't stand one of his horses (the one he bought for the obnoxious girlfriend, who eventually shows up to stir the pot and plot). The horse has trust issues, which led to the scar on the man's face. Of course, the girl next door knows exactly what to do for the horse, though there are a few misadventures and one disaster along the way to the happy ending.

This was an overtly Christian story, with praying and Bible verses mentioned.

I loved most of the dialogue––snippy banter, done in fun––but both main characters are too recently wounded and sometimes take offense at what the other says. They inevitably return asking for forgiveness, but what a roller-coaster ride!

What more could you want...your very own island, tons of wildlife, and horses.
Add a spicy black mare that prefers women and annoys her male owner no end. A dream for most of us. Hilary Walker definitely knows horses and to a horsey person the book is a great read.

How do you trust again. It takes faith and truth. Both animals and people can know your real feelings. This story will teach you how

Romance novels turn me off, especially when the storyline gets mushy. This book found me revisiting my childhood memories riding horses at summer camp. The warm wind blowing my hair as we canter across green pastures on an adventure, meeting my Prince Charming or exploring the country in freedom! I'm looking forward to reading her next book.

Saving Prophecy by Hilary Walker
Book starts with Table of Contents and why the author wrote the book and the events that sparked some of similar events and there is also praise from others
Sinclair Island Series and it interested me because ti'll be a new series from this author. I even looked up the island online.
Starts out where Emma has lost her job and she's decided she's done with horses and moves to an island off the coast of SC.
She writes financial columns to make ends meet and from the first day there she troubled by her neighbor Fulton. She doesn't know the full story yet but he's got a large scar on his face.
They do end up helping one another when his barn burns and she's able to calm the horses.
Little did she know that his ex girlfriend is the woman who had gotten her fired from her job and she's on the island to do more damage.
By that time the couple have been familiar with one another and have been around town as a couple. Like that it is during the July months so there's a lot of travel and exciting things to do, boatin, etc.
When the ex comes back into his life Fulton and Emma fall apart and she is wondering what to do next when he knocks on her door...
Misunderstandings are righted and there are so many questions she has for him...
Liked hearing of the romance and horse things, author makes you feel you are right there, very detailed descriptions. Can't wait to read more from this series.
Love how she gets him to attend church but she questions God about all the things that go wrong...
Took the time to also read the authors blog about this book, why it was written and other fun things.
I received this review copy from the author via the publisher and this is my honest opinion.

I started this book with a closed mind. But I soon opened my mind when I realised it had a Christian grounding to it. Very well written with very good horse facts for re-training the scared horse/ problem horse and what a lovely outcome for those lovely dogs and the rescue centre. The island lifestyle sounds ideal and I was drooling over the description of the scenery and how the plot grows.
God blessed this lady with talent and having a good horse sense as well. I look forward to reading the next in the series and the follow on to that. As the saying goes; "I am on the bit and ready to engage my whole body and soul to this ride".

I loved this book, the characters and especially the little mare Prophecy.
Emma lost her job at a horse ranch through no fault of her own but swore off horses. She decides to move to Sinclair Island. Her next-door neighbor is Fulton Sinclair who has 3 horses, one being the little mare who has a mind of her own. Fulton has a scar on his face because of Prophecy so he hates her. He is determined to get rid of her, Emma falls in love with her and hates to see her sent away. I almost cried when she was sent away to the auction.
I recommend this book to all who like good clean reading.

A beautiful and touching story. Books like this are sometimes difficult for me to read strictly because I start crying for the poor animals. Emma turns out to be the savior for precious Prophecy, but getting there is the story in this book by Hilary Walker. An excellent read in my opinion about a situation that truly exists. The author has brought to life this age old story.
I received an ARC copy of this book. However, this is my voluntary, honest and completely personal review.

This is a well written book that holds your attention. You will fall in love with animals in this story. The author brings the story to life with her words. This is a wonderful story about learning to trust again. A big THUMPS UP to the author for bringing attention to the problems black dogs have getting adopted from an animal shelter! It's so sad, but true, I know because I use to work at an animal shelter.

New author for me to admire and recommend!

Loved this clean Christian romance that was well written with heart and soul. Started reading and couldn’t stop so completed in one sitting - what better way to spend a lazy summer day. This is a new author that I found on a bookfunnel giveaway and I look forward to reading more. Am not a horse person, but have a sister who is, and this gave me a little insight into that world. Highly recommend.

I loved this book! Getting to know these two loners and the horse that draws them together, makes for an awesome story. I read this book in a day and highly recommend 'Saving Prophecy' if you love clean stories with heart. And with horses as part of the storyline, you can't go wrong!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters kept my interests, and I liked all but the ex-girlfriend. The storyline was well-developed. This book is definitely one worth reading, and I look forward to reading more books in this series.

Love the horses

A good storyline about the horses, but Emma and Fulton never seem able to trust each other's motives in even the simplest things. Can't believe their relationship would ever last.

This is a well written and I story of the plight of animals needing rescue. The human characters have a lot of drama and issues to work through to "find" each other.
