He was the biggest a--hole in high school. I never thought I'd have to see Chad Taylor again. It's day one of my dream career as a dietitian, and I run into him. He's a personal trainer at the gym where I just started working. Sure, Chad's charming and handsome, with the body of a Greek statue. But has he changed, or is he still the same jerk that I remember from high school?
Chad
Everything comes easy to me now - too easy. I'm a famous fitness model/trainer with a booming supplement company, and more women than I know what to do with. But I'm also a man who loves a challenge - a man who needs to be challenged. When I first lay eyes on Emma, I know that I have to have her. She's drop-dead gorgeous and unlike any of the women who regularly throw themselves at me. The only problem is that she thinks I'm an arrogant alpha male jerk - which I am. I won't try to convince Emma otherwise. But I will do whatever it takes to make her mine.
This contemporary romance novel is a (very) steamy standalone with no cliffhanger, no cheating, and a guaranteed Happily Ever After!
I have to admit that I have read more books this past month with the heroine's name Emma that I am thinking that there is no other name available. Anyway that was off topic.
I enjoyed Emma but was having some trouble with connecting with Chad. He was not a bad person just one that I could not connect with. This was still a good read. Just not filling.
As a newly registered dietitian, Emma has just started her first job at Fit World. She is ready to help others lose weight by changing their diets as she once did. Her first day is a successful one until she sees someone that she did not ever expect to see, especially someone from her past, when she was overweight. Chad Taylor, as world famous model and personal fitness trainer, he can get any girl he wants. So when he sees the new dietitian, he knows he is going to be scoring another notch in his belt. However what he did not expect was when she showed no interest in him, or when she informs him that knew each other in high school. It does not help when he calls her past self "fat as fuck." Chad can not get Emma off his mind, even with all the other women around him begging for him, he just knows that he can not let her go. Emma does not understand why Chad wants to ask her out, especially after his remark. She does not believe he has changed nor will he ever, but she gives him a chance to prove her wrong.
I give this book a 4 out of 5 stars. A well written and exotic book to keep you on the edge of craving more. This can be a very inspirational book for those who are struggling with being overweight and want to change themselves for the better.
I loved how Emma, after having such a hard time in high school with being overweight, took the steps to change herself and than afterwards had become so inspired to help others the way she was helped. I have been in her shoes. I too was overweight in high school and was bullied to the point of switching school. I applaud the author for her hidden message about bullying.
I really wished that during the two tour gasp in the book that you got a small peak at what Chad and Emma were doing and thinking at those times. Especially the ending tour, that was such a big gap, left you wanting to know what happened. While it ending on a good note, it seem to lack foundation.
I recommend this book to adults as an women's exotic fiction.
I received this book from Exclusive ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Great romance about a popular high school jock turned into world famous fitness model and the formerly chubby, quiet girl he completely ignored throughout high school.
Emma has just started her first job as a dietician and at the gym she notices a familiar face from her past, but not a welcome one. Chad tormented kids in high school and it looks like he hasn't changed much. His ego takes up more space than his muscles and that's saying something. He is a total jerk at the beginning of the book, but the chemistry between him and Emma is hot from their first re-encounter.
Has Chad changed at all or is he just trying to get something he can't have. He pours on the charm to seduce Emma into his bed, but she remembers him as arrogant and cruel. Will she give him a chance to prove that he's a new man?
Emma and Chad knew each other in high school were she thought he was an arrogant jerk. In high school she was 100 pounds heavier and he never gave her the time of day. They are thrown together again when her new job as a dietician is at the gym where he works. He has become very successful with his supplement business and has more women than he can handle. He is attracted to her but she blows him off. Liking a challenge he continues to pursue her. They both grew in personal development during the story. She became more confident and he toned down his arrogance. A good read and lots of twists, but no spoiler here. A good read that you will enjoy. I received an arc copy and voluntarily chose to review this book.
A fresh take on a familiar post-high school transformation. Former "fat chick" Emma is now a thin nutritionist hired at an elite gym. Chad (perfect douchebag name, no? Lol) was the cocky arrogant jock who is still cocky and arrogant but is now a famous fitness model and world class trainer employed at the same gym and even more in love with himself now.
Now it's Emma's turn to pretend he doesn't exist but that is immediately obvious that that's an impossible task. But is there more to Chad than his cocky douchebag public persona or is he still as superficial as always?
This is a really unique story. These are really fun characters and once they get together it is hot! Despite Chad coming off like a jerk in the beginning of this book he really finds a way to motivate or inspire her to write her book. Chad ends up having this huge heart and has a romantic side we catch a small glimpse of and it is swoon worthy!! The professions of the characters are wildly creative and add in their unique personalities and you have a great book you don't want to put down! The ending is really sweet and it is just the perfect way to end this story!
I have a lot of mixed feelings about this book. It was a little hard to get past what he'd done in the past. Even though he'd 'changed' he still was a jerk when he was younger, and I don't like my male leads to be jerks. That put a taint on the story. It was interesting, just would have liked it if he had been more likable. I was gifted an exclusive copy.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. Wow. Loved this book. I could relate so much with Emma...but Chad was a piece of work...& not in a good way. I cringed at a lot of his comments...

My first book by M.L. Sapphire and certainly won't be my last. The main characters has a great well described chemistry between them but they also both have a past that they have to handle before they can have a future together.
"Don't judge a book by it's cover" An enjoyable read with a fresh story-line and likable characters. I voluntarily reviewed an Exclusive Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
