I think this movie would make a great action movie. Harrison Ford, Naomi Judd, that kind of flick.
This isn't my usual genre of books but the synopsis was interesting so I gave it ago. And as it turns out, I could hardly put it down.
For the first time, I read hand fight scenes that you could picture completely, they were very realistic both in technique and damage done. The gun fights seemed to be repeated, lots of shooting in the face and the silencer 'made a sound like a soft cough' at least half a dozen times.
I did find some rather silly typos, like "keeping your eyes pealed" and other homonyms. A few times words were missing, but none of the errors were anything that obscured the meaning.
The last critiques are about the cover and the title. There is nothing about either that would have spurred me to purchase this. If it hadn't been free on Kindle that day, I would have passed it by. Neither the title nor the cover tell me anything at all about the book, the plot, just the name of the boy.
I felt everything about the plot was right. I didn't feel like this or that was a stretch, and the surprise ending was a surprise, but not in a The Village way. It was more like Shutter Island.
I loved Dunn, he was an amazing, believable veteran Secret Service Agent. His collected manner, his skill at protecting his charges with surprising materials, it was all great. I would like to see more stories of Dunn, but at the moment I can't think of anything that would be as captivating as his story in this book.
I chose the 5 Star rating because I thought I knew what was going to happen a lot of guessing I did not to give the outcome away but you will end up second guessing yourself threw the whole book you will not believe what you read. All I can say is read this book you will want to read more of this author's works.
