Characters:
The girl is fiesty, fearless & strong. A great female lead. Doesn’t cower behind a man. Takes a lot to be this strong but she is. The story doesn’t look back on the family or the recent past of the girl, it only went and gone to review its past when information was being asked in the end of the story. Suspense is great in this respect.
The make lead character is also strong, loyal, fearless and practical. He is so direct that romance on this novel is not really that deep. Deeper feelings of love or devotion was not expressed until the very end of the novel.
The story is a good one. It is contemporary, set in the city. Would benefit if there is more expression of feelings and romance between the two lead characters instead of all the suspense and action.
It is a story about everything from paranormal, lots of action and suspense, a little bit of thriller, horror, betrayal, chemistry and romance.
The writer wrote this will good planning of the story. Also have good grammar with just some words wrongly typed or missing.
The title of the book should not be what it is right now since it doesn’t revolve around the alpha. It revolved around the girl. It should be the Huntress fated to the Alpha.

It's an excellent book. Some paragraphs repeat a couple of times in the beginning chapters. The epilogue has a few spots that divert from the first person into the third. But as this is a review copy before the release, I know some final editing can fix these bits. And aside from the repeated paragraphs, it does not detract from the story.
A few things, though: it started great, but some parts felt dropped, and others felt rushed. Though the character development of Selina finding out who she indeed was flowed, I want to know what happened with her job. Also, we don't see anything of her friend from the beginning, only a mention of her in the last few chapters.

Selina is just coming home from a good evening with her friend, when she is saved by Vincent from a vampire attack. She gets home realising that monsters are real but not entirely sure what had saved her. When they meet again at a club there are sparks between them and after leaving together numbers are swapped.
Fated to the Huntress Vincent belongs to a small pack of 4 who are looking into vampire massacres. When he's out with Selina again and there's an attack they discover she's not entirely human and when she questions what she is, the answer she gives herself is Huntress.
She joins forces with Vincent's pack to work out what is happening in the city; in doing so she discovers more about herself and a history she didn't remember.
If you enjoy shifter romance with fast paced action and an enjoyable story line, this will not disappoint. A well written story with great chemistry between the characters, action, murder, romance, some clever twists and a fantastic ending.

This story had me gripped from the start. Selina has moved to NY with her friend. She enjoys the night life but one night on her way home from the club her life changes. She witnesses something she can't comprehend.
Vincent is a werewolf shifter, he and his pack hunt down and kill vampires. On one of these hunts Vincent encounters Selina while in his werewolf form but Selina flees the scene. The following week Vincent sees Selina while at a club and they end up leaving together. The following week Selina notices strange things happening to her, vivid dreams and someone talking to her in her mind.
Another chance encounter with Vincent, sees Selina agreeing to go on a date with him. While on that date, things forever change for her. With this change, things are set in motion that Vincent, Selina and his pack must see through to its conclusion.
I really enjoyed this storyline, Ms. Brinks kept my attention throughout. A couple of twists and turns in the book, made it even more thrilling. A definite 5* from me

Selina is a young lady who works hard. She's out with her friend enjoying NY. On the way home the cab has engine problems so she sets off on foot since she's not too far from her place. As she is passing an alley she hears something. When she goes to investigate she sees something out of a nightmare. Then another nightmare comes along. She runs for home.
Vincent is out chasing vampires and finds one heading to another victim. He kills the vampire but for the week after he can't get her out of his mind. He heads to a club and comes across her. They get together but a week later Selina convinces herself he isn't worth of time. Now her friend has challenged her to really think about her decision. Vincent is on the move to try to find who or what is killing vampires. This is a strategic move to eliminate players for someone to take over the city. The clock is running and Selina's life may be on the line. What is coming? And what is Selina's role in it? Will she and Vincent get a happily ever after?

I received an Advanced Reader Copy and am voluntarily reviewing it. Ruby has a different take on werewolves that I really enjoy. It's not all about mates and not everyone knows they are werewolves. Ruby's werewolves don't necessarily have huge packs. Everything readers believe they know about werewolves is tossed out. Ruby gives readers a whole new world to explore.

This is a beautifully written, exciting, action packed, thrilling romance story 🥰. Selina witnessed a vampire attack and rescue by werewolf. She convinces herself that it never happened. Selina and Vincent meet go on date, have wild steamy night together. Selina is feeling very stressed, confused, stressed. Vincent alpha wolf of his pack, Kylie, Simon and Jason are his pack. They find a massacre of friendly vampires aligned with their pack. Vampires do not fight each other, attacks are vicious and brutal. Something very bad is happening, things will get much harder, dangerous enemies, battles, sorrows, betrayal, kidnappings and death. Heartbreak and betrayal, spellbinding surprises and joy. Happy ever after 🤩🥰.

This book was an easy to read page turner. It starts out with Selina almost being attack which triggers some life changing capabilities Selina was unaware she had. Now add in a very sexy alpha that makes her lady bits scream. Selina has alot of change to over come and let's not forget all the random serial killing helping in their neighborhood. Join the story to see how Selina deals with creatures that go bump in the night. Enjoy 🥰.

Vincent and Selina were both instantly likeable which made this book flow seamlessly.
Their attraction was magical and Vincent brought out a side of Selina that she never knew existed.
This was my first Ruby Brinks book but it certainly won't be my last.
The plot was interesting and progressed quickly to a fabulous climax.

This was an absolute page turner, I couldn't put it down! What started as insta-lust between Selina & Vincent changed into something more, something bigger. Fated mates. As the violence increases in New York and The Vampire Lord closing in, Selina was quick to accept not only who she was but also what she really was. The fast-paced plot mixed with the riveting plot twist and ultimate betrayal kept me drawn in. The end was mind blowing.

Ruby continues to write exceptional stories for us avid readers as she doesn't disappoint with this novel. It is an "action-packed, can't put down book until the last page is read" kind of story. There are lots of twisting turns that will keep you glued to Selina and Vincent and their encounters. It's a suspenseful paranormal romance I would highly recommend to others.

The idea behind this story is so easy to fit into today's reality. Ruby Brinks spins a great tale of the fight between the light and dark of this world. Her female lead is so strong and her Alpha mate is amazing with how he handles all the changes around him. Really worth a read.

A fast paced fun story where Selina & Vincent end up is trouble as evil is unleashed and they must deal with that drama along with their relationship. Plus add some intrigue, secrets and danger to make things even more interesting.

Highly recommend this book. It was full of suspense, action, romance and fun. The female lead is strong and feisty and I love that. She doesn't hide behind a man and stands on her own 2 feet. Male lead is strong, loyal and fearless. Lots of twist and turns. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is a good PNR storyline with defined, strong MCs. There is drama, chemistry, and the past is revealed near the end of the book creating some suspense. I liked it.

Selina doesn’t know she is a werewolf. She finds out she is the fated mate to Vincent a Werewolf Alpha. The pack finds out there is a Vampire Lord killing vampire nests who are friends with them and other werewolf packs. There is a traitor in their midst.

Oh how I enjoy a fluently articulated story.
This one was one of the better I have read this year.
Actually this isn't the first book I have read by this author and she has a way of drawing you into the story.
Charismatic characters and a captivating storyline.
I encourage you to read this one.
