Maybe I had to settle for the fact that, no matter how hard I looked, I would never find anyone that fit with me the way Maggie did. She was just…my person. The puzzle piece that clicked with mine.
THE BED MATE is a ”friends-to-lovers” romance between two people who have been “besties” for over eight years. This is the final installment of the ROOMMATES series and I’m glad we are finally getting to the end. I really loved the first two books but the last few were just “ok” for me. This wasn’t the best book I’ve read under this trope but it also wasn’t the worst. It started off pretty good but then after a while, I found the Heroine’s obliviousness to the situation to be completely absurd, and I thought the Hero was a little too sweet and too good to be true.
Sam and Maggie have been the best of friends since they met in college. They’ve been there for each other through numerous failed relationships. They've never let their romantic relationships affect their friendship. In all the years that they’ve known each other, neither of them have been single at the same time. Sam has a plethora of relationships that have gone wrong, while Maggie has only had a couple of long-term boyfriends. Finally, right before New Year’s Eve, Maggie ends up breaking up with her boyfriend when she catches him cheating on her. She planned to hide away in Sam’s apartment while he was on a skiing trip in Colorado but he buys her a ticket to fly out and join him.
Sam has been in love with Maggie since they first met but never had the chance to reveal his true feelings for her since he was quickly placed in the "friend zone". This holiday in Colorado might be just the push he needs to make his move.
Maggie has always thought Sam was gorgeous and at times she has had daydreams of him but never pursued her feelings for fear of ruining their friendship. Will she finally get a clue and see what everyone else has been trying to tell her all along?

The Bed Mate is a short and sweet story that perfectly delivered the friends to lovers story even as a novella. It didn't feel rushed or fast-paced, and I felt the chemistry between Sam and Maggie from start to finish.
Sam and Maggie have been best friends since they were in college, and Sam has loved her for just as long. When they both find themselves single—Sam broke up with his girlfriend and Maggie with her long-term cheater of a boyfriend—Sam flies Maggie over from New York to Colorado to join him and his friends for a holiday by the slopes.
Their only problem? The hotel where they're staying is full. Maggie has no choice but to stay with Sam in his hotel room, and she's starting to feel something she's never felt before when she's with him.

I loved this friends to lovers novella from kendall Ryan! Both Sam and Maggie were awesome characters and the hint of attraction and then the slow build up to these two becoming lovers was awesome. Kendall Ryan is a great writer and to write a satisfying ending wrapped up in a novella is what I like,no leaving you hanging. I adore the 1001 dark nights series!!! This is a super cute novella!! I really enjoyed this story of love, friendship, and finding the perfect fit! Kendall Ryan hits the mark again.
Have you ever been in love with your best friend? I have and could totally relate to this friends to lovers novella. Sawyer and Mags are the absolute cutest! They're always there for one another. Through each failed relationship, they know they can count on each other. So what happens when they realize their perfect match has been right in front of them all along?
What I loved: The trope and storyline are absolute favorites of mine. There's just enough angst and sexual tension to get my motor revving, but not too much.
The characters are great and their friendship and trust of one another really comes across. I love how easy going they both are.
The story is short, but I didn't feel it was rushed at all.

I’m a big fan of Kendall Ryan’s Roommates series, but I usually don’t read a lot of novella’s because I don’t seem to have much luck with them and I tend to find them lacking in story and character development, they feel a bit rushed. I finish them feeling a bit meh! But I’m happy to report The Bed Mate hit the mark for me with this cute, friends to lovers story.
Sam and Maggie have been best friends since college and they have been through a lot and mean more to each other than anyone else in entire world. They have always kept their relationship purely platonic and it poses the age old questions; “would you risk your friendship for the chance of something more?”
When Maggie and her long term boyfriend call it quits, Sam invites her on his boys skiing vacation and this was the turning point of their friends only relationship. They start seeing each other in a new light, forcing their relationship to start changing and develop into more.
I am a massive sucker for the friends to lovers trope and even though this was a short and sweet novella it sure packed a punch. It was jammed packed full of intense chemistry, attraction, longing and desire. Sometimes everything you are searching for is right under your nose the whole time, but you just didn’t know it.
OMG… this story was so sweet with just the right amount of angst that I love. If you are looking for a short and sexy story to read on a lazy Sunday afternoon or you just adore your friends to lovers trope then I definitely recommend one clicking this one.

Awww… this was such a sweet friends-to-lovers romance. This is one of my favorite tropes and Kendall Ryan did a remarkable job of bringing Sam and Maggie to life. They were always there for each other and enjoyed one heck of a beautiful friendship. Every up or down, every failed relationship, these two held each other up. It was obvious that they were meant for each other. They just needed to figure that out too. A short book gets a short review, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t more words to extol the virtues of this read. I simply don’t want to ruin it for you.

When Maggie’s long term relationship ends, they are finally both single & available. Sam doesn’t want to waste anymore time. He knows they belong together & he’s just been waiting for her to figure it out too.
Sam is on a big guys snowboarding/skiing trip in Colorado when Maggie and her boyfriend break up. He flys her out to spend New Year’s with him & they end up sharing a hotel room. The Bed Mate is a sweet easy, fast read. If you want something quick, light and fun then this book is for you.
I guess I should say I don’t like novellas. The only novellas I read are smutty ones, and that’s nothing to brag about. I wanted to try The Bed Mate because it’s duh by Kendall Ryan, but also it’s part of the 1001 Dark of Nights series and I haven’t read any of the books a part of it. I finally did it!
This is a good friends to lover romance with an adorable couple and it’s the perfect book to read now (since it’s so close to the holidays). This book isn’t a holiday book, but with the snow and mountains, it puts me in a wide-smile mood.
I love how Sawyer and Maggie are best friends and they truly care for reach other. Nothing brings two people closer together when they share a bedroom during a vacation!
If you are a fan of the 1001 Dark of Nights series or love Kendall Ryan or love novellas or love sweet reads, then this book is 100% for you.

The Bed Mate was a novella in Kendall Ryan’s Room Mate series.
It was a really sweet and quick read. Sam and Maggie had been best friends since college. Maggie was in a relationship so Sam settled for friendship. Now eight years later, Maggie’s relationship had gone south. The characters were awesome with substance and humor. Ryan then took us through the mindset of each on whether they should transition from friends to lovers.
It’s recommended for those looking for a well written quick read, no angst, simplicity, a cute storyline and an HEA.

The Bed Mate was such a quick, fun and very adorable read! It has that classic (best) friends to lovers story that will satisfy your romantic cravings just right. And let me tell you, you will be falling for Sam and his sweetest gestures by the end of this novella. Hard.
Sam and Maggie has been best friends for eight years. They're basically attached at the hip, so comfortable around each other, but they've always had boundaries. They knew where they both stood, especially with how Maggie has been in a committed relationship since they met. And Sam was just biding his time, spending nights with his fair share of flings here and there. But then Maggie finds herself single again after a long time and being with Sam this time is like seeing her best friend in a different light.
Suddenly, the stars align for these two—like it was just their time to go for it and explore how taking their burning friendship and sizzling chemistry to the next level will be. And hell, was it the best decision both of them have ever made. It just took them a little longer to see it for themselves. For what it was and what they truly had for one another. Eight years might've been a really long time to realize that it was beyond friendship, but I think the bond they built between each other—the way they knew the other inside and out—was just stronger than any relationship because of that. So it was definitely worth it.
Regardless if this was a novella, I still vastly enjoyed the plot and the swarm of butterflies it brought onto my tummy, witnessing these two best friends fall in love with each other. Sam was absolutely the perfect guy you can ever fall for. He was an amazing support system, even before they delved deeper into their relationship that I can't remember how many times I've told Maggie in my head how freaking lucky she was to have him in her life.
If you're looking for a cute, short and easy read, just enough to fill your need for a heart-melting, tummy-fluttering (best) friends to lovers story, go for Kendall Ryan's The Bed Mate. You'll end up heaving all the happy sighs by the end of it.

I love the roommate series.
The Bed Mate is another friends to lovers kind of book. I enjoyed it because of the MC's, Sam and Maggie. They met in college and became quick friends. Both of them haven't had successful relationships and they never let them interfere with their friendship. So, I was just casually twiddling my thumbs for them to take a chance on one another.
Now of course, one of them has had a crush on the other. Sam, my man, has been in love with Maggie for a while. So when she breaks up with her cheating ex, he buys her a ticket out to Colorado. Where he is vacationing.. so ya know what's going to happen right? RIGHT!
Smut on glorious smut. I loved it! Their chemistry was amazing and I could totally see the whole risking friendship being a huge factor for them not to dive into this. However, I am so happy that they took that giant ass leap. I loved these two and I can't wait to dive into the next book of the roommate series. I don't think I have read them all (yet).

You will fall in love with Maggie and Sam's story. Best friends since College, their lives have never seemed to give them the opportunity to really dwell on the possibility of digging deeper into their feelings.
When Maggie's relationship falls apart and Sam flies her to where he is so they can spend New Year together, it's the first time both of them can really go into deep about what their relationship is really about.
Both of them are scared to ruin their friendship for something that may never work and neither of them wants to be the first one to say something. Throughout this novella, they tiptoe around the subject which cause more confusion for one or the other.
Sam is really the kind of guy anyone would be lucky to have in their lives, either as a lover or a friend. He's simply a good guy who loves to have fun and take risks. Maggie is more careful, but she is such a sweet girl and I just loved her personality in general.
I just love how they interact with each other; how they seem to complete one another.
Overall, it was short but it's the perfect holiday read if you ask me. If you are like me, a sucker for friends to lovers stories, I totally recommend you to read this novella. Once again, Kendall Ryan made us fall in love with her characters.

You will fall in love with Maggie and Sam's story. Best friends since College, their lives have never seemed to give them the opportunity to really dwell on the possibility of digging deeper into their feelings.
When Maggie's relationship falls apart and Sam flies her to where he is so they can spend New Year together, it's the first time both of them can really go into deep about what their relationship is really about.
Both of them are scared to ruin their friendship for something that may never work and neither of them wants to be the first one to say something. Throughout this novella, they tiptoe around the subject which cause more confusion for one or the other.
Sam is really the kind of guy anyone would be lucky to have in their lives, either as a lover or a friend. He's simply a good guy who loves to have fun and take risks. Maggie is more careful, but she is such a sweet girl and I just loved her personality in general.
I just love how they interact with each other; how they seem to complete one another.

Novella carina, ma abbastanza superficiale. La storia seppur breve arriva bene al lettore, il problema che ho riscontrato è proprio nell'evoluzione dei sentimenti e quando i protagonisti decidono di metterli in atto, come se fosse stato gestito alla svelta perché doveva chiudere la storia. Peccato. Comunque una lettura piacevole, si legge in pochissimo.

As I was starting to gather my thoughts for this book, I realized that I didn't have much to say. Pretty much nothing to be honest. I thought that the reason I had nothing to say had to do with how much I liked or not the book. Well, I liked the book. I liked how this novella is not about sex or something like that. The book almost didn't include any sex scenes, which would have been a shame. This is the story of two friends who realize that they have feelings for each other and they can no longer contain them. There is a simplicity about this book and a lack of drama that made the story perfect. The thing is the everything worked so well in this book I have nothing to complain about. It's a great friend to lovers story and I am sure you will fall in love with Sam and Maggie. I did.

A friends to lovers novella that packs entertaining flirtyness! It’s perfect for a light, quick during the holidays!
Sam has been in a relationship slump. Every one of his ex-girlfriends have turned out to be some kind of crazy, and Maggie just dumped her cheating boyfriend. The good news is that they can always count on each other to be there through the good, the bad and the ugly cray-cray. Because Sam and Maggie have been best friends for years.
Now that they’re both single and unintentionally sharing a hotel room in a cozy ski resort, an awareness from both sides starts to surface and make them want to take their friendship to a whole new level. But can they risk their solid friendship?
I really enjoyed this holiday romance. Even if it’s a novella, it has all the right ingredients for a good read. It’s well paced, the characters are charming and relateable. It was easy to like them both. Their friendship feels genuine and their transition to lovers, even though with a bit of angst, was organic.
I loved how much Sam loved Maggie and the fact that he took a risk to get a chance to have everything with her.

The Bed Mate is a novella in the 1001 Dark Nights series, and even though its a short book, it was lots of fun to read. I’ve always been a fan of the friends to lovers trope.
I’ve only read a couple of Kendall Ryan books, but she’s become one of my go to authors. It’s just catching up with the TBR thats hard for us all, am I right?
I really liked both Maggie and Sam and this one, and was really hoping for them to wake up and see what everyone around them already knew. Although Sam was already pretty much there. The way they connect with each other and everything is so easy for them, is really sweet.
This was a fast, fun and sexy novel that had me cheering for the happy ending to hurry up and get there.
Would definitely recommend.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of the book.
I can always rely on Kendall Ryan to give me a satisfying read and this was no exception - The Bed Mate is an adorable, friends-to-lovers romance, perfect for an interlude between dark and heavy reads or just when you need a little pick me up. Maggie and Sam were so cute and I loved how everyone around them knew that they were meant to be, while Maggie lived in a bit of denial for a while. The book is a bit of a slow burn (if that is possible given its short length), with much of the book devoted to their individual inner monologues as opposed to interaction with each other. It's actually remarkable that the author was able to craft a story that really made me like and root for the characters in such a short time without making the story feel rushed or haphazard. Just another fine example as to why I love Kendall Ryan and 1001 Dark Nights! 3.75 out 5 wine glasses.

This is what Kendall is so great at - writing amazing novellas that leave you smiling and feeling all sorts of gooey inside.
I devoured this book in one reading - it's a very fast paced read and extremely entertaining. It's a best friends to lovers romance without all the drama and drawn out angst you get in other books like this. It was a sweet read and a perfect addition to the 1,001 Dark Nights series.
Kendall played this story out perfectly and left me loving both Maggie and Sawyer not only separately but even more so together as a couple.
And this book is perfect for this time of year - it's not a holiday read, but with background in the snowy mountains of Colorado and everything happening around the holidays, it helps get you in the mood.

The Bed Mate is a FEEL-GOOD friends-to-lovers romance that makes the heart dance all the way to Cloud Nine!!!
Hands down, when I began The Bed Mate, it was INSTANT LOVE!!! The witty writing, believable plot, compelling and charming characters, and overall fairytale feel of this romance were EVERYTHING!!! I was BEGUILED!!! The Bed Mate latched onto my heart and never let go.

WHOA!!!! The Bed Mate is a super cute friend-to-lover romance. For a novella, it was definitely packed with angst, passion, fun and sexy romance.
Sam and Maggie have been friends since college. They have always been there for each other through thick and thin. However, their friendship is strictly platonic as neither wants to take the next step, afraid of lose each other as a friend. Sam has just broken up with his girlfriend citing “irreconcilable differences” in the bedroom . Holidays is around the corner so Sam and his buddies are planning a ski trip to Colorado. Maggie did not want to join the gangs because she hates skiing and she also want to spend time with her boring boyfriend. Couple days before New Year, Maggie walked into said bastard in a compromising position - balls deep in his assistant. Once again, Sam came to the rescue – he flew Maggie to Colorado to spend the holidays with him. Sam has been in love with Maggie since college and for the first time she is single. Will Sam finally come clean and bare his soul to his best friend before he loses her again to another?
Geez! Sam and Maggie is so freaking adorable. I can’t believe Sam waited that long … all the years wasted when it could have been so much fun. But hey, that what makes the story so good with all the flirting and angsts leading to the delicious sexy scene and the cutest romance. The Bed Mate is an amazing read – short and sweet. This novella was the perfect cute and sweet friends to lovers story I was looking for! It's no secret that the friends to lovers trope is one of my very favorites, and Kendall Ryan did not disappoint! I loved the longing and angst between Sam and Maggie, as they each struggled with their desires and whether or not to tell the other and possibly ruin their friendship. I am a huge fan of that moment when the main characters finally figure out what everyone else around them has known all along - that they're perfect for each other.
Sam was such a wonderful hero. Even though he was more sure of his feelings, he has always been a friend to Maggie first, taking care of and supporting her through thick and thin. His vulnerability and thoughtfulness though were so swoony, that I found myself wishing that The Bed Mate was longer than a novella! The build up and sexual tension was delicious and I couldn't get enough of these two! The epilogue left me with a huge smile on my face and you really don't want to miss this sweet and sexy novella!
