The Interview
The past never dies.
Mo Williams is cursed. Cursed with the loss of his football scholarship. Cursed with the loss of his mother. But life goes on, and Mo needs a job, preferably a good job. Menial jobs pale in comparison to the roar of 106,000 fans at Beaver Stadium.

Fascinating and fast read that will leave me pondering a long time!!
This was a huge story crammed in a very, very short novel! Only seven characters are named yet they are well detailed and unforgettable! The action is tense from beginning to end -- truly a real page-turner!! I read the whole novel in two brief sit downs (could easily be read in a single afternoon) and yet this is one of those stories that are much larger than page count!! It leaves me pondering not only the story but life itself and human character!! Phil M. Williams is rapidly becoming one of my favorite authors!! Read his books!! Read this book!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed Phil Williams's "Against the Grain" so I was delighted to see this one come along. A psychological thriller, "The Interview" is one you will want to read in the light of day. Featuring young adults, it is peopled with folks you probably know - the high school football star with a ruined knee, Mo Williams leads the way. Cora Henton lives with her TV-addicted mom and is fed up with her job as a barista at a no-name coffee shop. Troy is a good-looking misanthrope known for his success with girls, though they are not always aware or willing. Allie Gillespie was that most popular girl in high school but had developed no discretion or sense of loyalty at all. And Brian was the loser geek, with no real friends, no girlfriends, and was easily influenced by boys like Troy.
They all passed the first interview for these three wonderful jobs, with lots of money, prestige, and a way out of their life as they know it. The second interview will be the kicker, the one that will narrow the field. And they all plan to ace that second interview.

Audiobook: I was captivated while listening to this audiobook. As soon as I started it, I had to listen until the end. This story kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next. The author had a way with words that painted pictures within my imagination. Phil M. Williams presented some difficult and thought-provoking subjects within the material. Tristan Wright's and Mis Valyn's dual narrations were good, and their performances kept my attention. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Be scared to read this book. VERY SCARED.
Well, Phil, I have to say I am delighted this was not a 400 page book. It came close to scaring me to death, and I would not have survived 400+ pages. I could hardly set it aside for even routine things, like restroom breaks!
Anyone who likes mystery would enjoy the book.

Original, well-written, quick read, thoroughly enjoyable.
Along the lines of Black Mirror, very thought-provoking and with a great balance of action, characterisation and tension. Highly recommend, would also be a good one for young adults because of its pace and length.

The book was a freebie and I can't always afford to buy a book, so I look for the free ones. This book was incredible, written to make you think of what could happen! Loved it.

This is my second Phil Williams book and it does not disappoint. It's a good thing that this book is short & to the point because the writing is very gripping & very hard to put down - I finished the book in one sitting. Mr. Williams's choice of words, writing style & attention to detail are what set the story apart and gives it its unique flavour.

This is a dark story about consequences. A group of young people are lured to an out of the way mansion under the ruse of attending a job interview but things take a very dark turn. Phil M Williams gives his readers an entertaining story that is full of terrified characters and scary situations. A short, dark tale that is sure to keep you hooked from the start.

I just had a problem with a bunch of kids entering into unknown links or even allowing a car to take them into the unknown.
The twist in MO story was a nice touch, and the few ending lines that can cause the assumption of another ending was a well thought idea.

Yeah the author was definitely on they young adult bullsh*t on this one! They must've have gotten a migraine with every penstroke going through the emotions of the life of writing each of these characters. Just reading them was exhausting and disturbing in the most honest way. That bullying life can take a person to another dimension.

I really enjoyed the build up of the story about teenagers looking for their dream job and thinking they found it and agree to an interview only to find out they were wrong. The build up to the interview and what happens next is unbelievable in a good way. It's well written and suspenseful and hard to put down. I enjoyed the book!

Thought provoking.
Great psychological thriller that makes you think about the choices and decisions you make when you are younger that can come back to bite you later in life.
There's a moral in there and if it can make people be better and more tolerant then the book is doing a great service as well as being an entertaining read.

A Short Cautionary Tale...
A quick read points to the potential misuse of personal information for nefarious ends. Several of the characters in the book are hard to pull for their survival when things take a dark and twisted turn. Good beach read for an afternoon in the sun.

Short and predictable. I’m sorry I wasted my time on it. The characters were flat and never developed. Not much to the plot. Very little in the way of scene settings. I now know another author to avoid.
