London was the last place in the world that Miss Fredericka Hedgeworth wished to go, and marriage was most certainly the last thing on her mind. This beautiful, high-spirited young lady desired only to stay at home, where saving the family estate was her deepest duty and riding the finest of horses, her greatest joy
But Fredericka's ambitious mother was eager for her to make a marvelous match in the marriage mart. Neither woman, however could dream what would happen when Frederick met the Countess's heartbreakingly handsome son, Lord Sebastian Satterwaite, who could have any woman he wanted and wanted everything but marriage. Frederick had been led to London on the rightest of reins – but no one could rein her in when she took it into her head and heart to run wild and free....

"Fun read. Sebastian's autocratic behavior toward Fredericka, the exact same behavior Sebastian can't stand in his father's treatment of him, ordering that he knows what is right, is hilarious...when it isn't annoying. In the beginning, Lady Chalmers is awesome and crafty in getting her son to go along with her plans by explicitly warning him away. But at the end of the book, where she wants to wash her hands of Fredericka without hearing the whole story, is too much like a spoiled old rich lady who no longer wants a pet because it has grown up. Would have like to read more of Lord&LadyC's love story

I did like the book and the relationship Fredericka has with her family. Who I did not care for was the lead male Sebastion was spoiled entitled who did not want the responsibilities that his future inheritance will require .
The heroine repeatedly used the word "tedious" referring to something she was doing. This book is, in a word, "tedious". It could have been one-half to one-third the size and it would have been OK. As it is, way too long, about people you wouldn't care to spend time with.
