Naked and caged in a lab, Apsen has no idea why she's there, and no one will talk to her. After experimenting on her, they let her go into the woods...only to hunt her with rifles. Terrified, she tries to outrun her pursuers. But gunshot wounds and exhaustion take their toll, and she falls, welcoming the darkness that envelopes her.
She's his mate....
Bear shifter Torbin is hunting for dinner when the smell of blood permeates the air. It's not just any blood, it's the blood of his mate and she's dying. He rushes to her side and whisks her back to his cabin, where he tends her wounds and waits for her to recover.
When Aspen wakes in the arms of the sexiest man she's ever seen, she's torn between wanting to succumb to the urge to mate him and wanting to return to the life she knew before. But when Torbin is mortally wounded by the same people who tried kill her, she makes a choice that will change both their destinies.
She has been taken against her will and she doesn't know why. They are doing weird things to her. They've brought in a male and is using him to try to impregnate her. Now they are trying to kill her. This is a quick, hot and entertaining read. Enjoy I did.
Imagine one of your loved ones being held captive in the hands of mad scientists at a semi-known location which you happen to know isn't too far away from where you currently are yourself. Would you dawdle for 4 days before trying to figure out if you could rescue said person? No? Me neither. Not if the person with the knowledge was conscious enough to give even a hint of directions. If something bad then happened due to your negligence, would you then wait another day before informing anyone still worrying about said person? No? Me neither. The above really annoyed me, and totally ruined an otherwise crappy story. Besides that it has some linguistic errors, but only in the beginning. The characters are shallow but ok, and the dialogue is uninspired. Don't get me started again on the story, the plot or the timeline. I think I've ranted enough for one review. In other words; do yourself a favour and find something better to read!
