Jack Hammond has become the Director, now responsible for the same government black site that imprisoned him.
But now she is free as well.
With a target on his back by forces above and beyond understanding, Jack must juggle the dangers of his new position along with the ladies he let loose.
It's not just beautiful humans he has to worry about, but a female entity he can only describe as other.
The stakes were raised in an intelligent way in this follow-up to book one. It’s too easy to fall into the trap of overpowering your protagonist. Instead, Jack rises to each challenge and grows through it.
New characters and antagonists were introduced and fleshed out nicely. Jack continues to add to his harem of followers, though mostly redacts were added.
A freaky, confusing, sexy, haunting, swoon worthy, touching, and trippy addition to the already exciting first book. A.V. Ray took everything great about the first book and made it bigger. SCP's met Lovecraft and then decided to get sexy. A lot of new questions, not many answers. And yet I'm so looking forward to what comes next.
So I've loved the SCP vibes that this series has. That being said, not my favorite series from the author. Some of the connections feel a little fast paced. Not the worst, but a little less natural feeling in spots.
Still, overall solid. There were some grammatical things that were a little off but decent. I'll probably read the next one
Well developed characters, broad world building, complex tapestry of a back story. Getting the distinct feeling the next book is gonna be a bumpy ride! Can’t wait!
