Too formulaic

I get that it's supposed to be a weekly workbook but there's a lot of copy and paste and it shows in the typos and mistakes. As a result it also feels very repetitive and like it could have been condensed to half the length. The author asserts in the introduction that the strength of the book comes from doing the journaling and reflection work, and I don't doubt that--but as a guide, it could be more concise, creative, and direct.

Healing from Within: A Chakra and Ho’oponopono Healing Guidebook
by Wendi M. Lindenmuth

I received a complimentary copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A fascinating book to learn about chakras and how they connect with you as a person, emotionally, spiritually, mentally and physically. Ho’oponopono is an ancient art of living, combined with chakras to benefit our lives “in a healthier, happier way.”

Wendi M. Lindenmuth begins in chapter one with the explanation and understanding of the word chakra, and all it entails. As I am a beginner, this was immensely beneficial to me and revealed in a clear and precise manner. The objective is in reading, to explore and work on a new chakra each week for seven weeks, coupled with creating a journal and noting down experiences, thoughts, emotions felt, etc.

Like many self-help books or encouragements, this isn’t going to do the work for you. It is a support and a guide to assist the reader. I personally appreciated the very distinct stated recommendation from the author, that like many elements in our lives, it isn’t handed to us. If we want something, we need to work at it, to achieve the rewards, and so it is with chakras. The difference with this is it isn’t exactly “work“. The reader needs to set aside a part of the day for themselves to concentrate on the discovery and to note in the journal. While we all may complain about not having adequate time to spare etc, the results will be favourable as time passes and each chakra is identified.

An added feature that I found especially advantageous as an assistance to the book is the YouTube links at the end. They interpret each chakra, complete with beautiful healing music are a wonderful thoughtful extra and conclude the revelation.

I read Healing from Within as I have consistently been curious and interested in chakras but embarrassed to say I have lived in ignorance until I began to read. I am so pleased I did and definitely recommend it. Wendi M. Lindenmuth writes in a straightforward style, creating a work ideal for people on their initial voyage of discovery concerning this topic and likewise others who need a pathway laid out before them to work through each one.

I rate Healing From Within 5 out of 5 stars.

When I received this free copy from Booktasters and the authors I wasn't
that keen to start reading this book.

My reservations were:
- What a long title;
- Another self-help book.

However when I started reading, I immediately was interested in the book due
to the personal story of the author, her clear explanations and the practical
guide.

I learned more about the different chakra's and Ho'oponopono healing. I
would recommend this book (with a difficult title) to all people who are
interested in spiritual growth and healing. I would give a 5* rating to this
amazing book.

What an interesting book. Although I have worked with chakras a lot in the past I had never heard of Ho’Oponopono so this was a new skill to add to my health tool kit. This book is easy to follow as you can work with each chakra week by week incorporating both skills as appropriate. Very interesting read to expand your knowledge.

A book everyone should have

Before reading Wendi's book "Healing From Within" I knew nothing about chakras or meditation, and after reading her book I feel more familiar with learning to work with my chakras. This book will help you discover ways to see and feel your inner self in a whole new light. You will be able to have healthy habits and a healthy lifestyle. I encourage anyone looking for something new to help change their life for the better or get more knowledgeable of their inner mental and spiritual being to buy this book.

Learning to work with your chakras will help you discover innovative ways to see and feel your inner self and your life in a whole new way. It will show you new insights to have healthier behavior patterns and a more rewarding lifestyle. Your chakras will connect you more thoroughly with other people and experience inner peace. Each chakra is a window that opens to a higher energetic, psychic, and spiritual knowledge. Or it can remain closed, restricting you to your present limitations.
I learned a lot of information about chakras. It is a interesting book and I learned their was a lot of internal and external health benefits from using this techniques. Using meditation and connection with your spiritual self. It was a fast paced book and I enjoyed reading this book.

Moving away from thrillers, here I am with review for a self-help book in healing. Honestly, it couldn’t come at a better time. I would like to give my gratitude to Wendi for sharing her amazing e-book with me. Also, Booktasters, thank you for introducing me to such an amazing author.

Healing, simply put, is a process of becoming healthy again. Prior to reading this book I was aware of Chakras, thanks to mediation programmes and love for crystals. I had also read about Ho’oponopono practice in Dr. Joe Vitale’s Zero limits.

This book provides a holistic approach towards our physical, mental and emotional well-being.

We are energy beings. Chakras, being our energy centres, any blockages in them reflects in our lives clearly. And practice of Ho’oponopono, an ancient Hawaiian wisdom, allows us to take responsibility for everything. We cannot change others, but we can work upon ourselves.

By combining these both, the author has provided us the best of both worlds.
The author gives us enough background information to give us a basic understanding of both chakra system and Ho’oponopono.

The best part about this book is it is a practical guide book. It’s not too wordy and nor it beats around the bush. It is simple yet profound. Like the author says, we have to follow the steps to get better. A mere reading cannot help. She not only provides us many ways of cleansing and nourishing each Chakra, she also provides us with questions to establish where we are currently.

We need to take steps to cleanse, nourish each Chakra with whichever step we feel at home and combine with Ho’oponopono practice. Following it up by answering the questions again will make us understand how better we feel – comparing with how we felt before doing the exercises. Hence Journaling is necessary part of this book.

The author has also provided additional questions and resources to help us, which I found very useful.

I am still focusing on my root chakra, for it needs all the help in healing. The author suggests 7 weeks (one week per chakra), so I will update my review once again after 7 weeks. So far, I am enjoying the process!
I recommend this book wholeheartedly!

I Recommend this Helpful Book

When I saw the title for this book, I wondered, “Really? Another Chakra book?” I’ve read many of these and found them the same with the exception of the cover. Yet, “Healing from Within: A Chakra and Ho’oponopono Healing Guidebook” really IS different from all the rest.

This is not just another chakra book. Wendi Lindemuth wrote this text based on her own lessons learned and real-life application by overcoming a serious illness. Her book is more than a step-by-step guide; it’s roadmap allowing the reader to make choices based on their personal situation. If feeling lonely or depressed, or there are physical issues present, the reader can find which Chakra to address and get back on track.

The author combined three important resources to help the reader empower their physical, energetic, cognitive, and spiritual health. The key element of journaling allows the reader to be their own practitioner, capturing their present state and making informed adjustments for their own personal care.

I recommend this book; it is an easy read. Yet, if a person wants positive change, they must be willing to take action. Ms. Lindemuth created a resource for the reader to empower themselves.

As a rule of thumb, self-help books often read like stereo instructions from a Sony component set complete with bookshelf speakers and a turntable, and are almost as entertaining.

But if you're looking for a refreshing change-of-pace, you just might find it in Wendi's latest book. She shows how you can achieve quite significant bodily and spiritual restoration, and just as importantly, through steps most anyone can take without first having to undergo a month of survival training in a corner of Siberia that even Russia doesn't care about, in order to have a good chance at substantial and lasting change for the better.

Her prose is solid and her advice, timely. Included are pages where you can enter some reflective prose of your own. To me, this is a true example of a "what's not to like" kind of book. In a nutshell, Wendi wrote it, and Wendi nailed it. 'nuff said!

Healing from within by Wendi M Lindenmuth is about using chakras, the Ho’oponopono method and journaling to make your life better and stress free. You will accelerate your emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual growth and healing if you read this book and will live a happier, healthier life, says the author.

You have to understand your chakras and the four components of Ho’oponopono to transform your life and free it from anxieties. Go through your seven chakras in seven weeks to get started and to feel the difference that they make in your life. Meditate and focus on your chakras and combine it with reciting the four components of Ho’oponopono. This will help you to accelerate your healing process both mental and physical. Focus on each chakra area to cleanse and heal it, says the author.

There is journaling to be used too. Several blank pages have been included in the book to help you to journal your meditations and attitudes. The simple act of journaling is incredibly beneficial for your mind, body, and spirit. It will rid you of depression, fears, stress and anxieties ‘Journaling is a great tool to track your chakra’s health, your thoughts, feelings, and your progress when you decide to
repeat these exercises in the future,’ according to the author.
Reading about the Third Eye chakra is the most fascinating part of the book. The third eye helps you to explore your higher consciousness expanding your awareness of what lies beyond the earth’s plane. In this chakra, you will seek to develop your insight, spirituality, awareness, and intuition. By continuing to practice, you will be
able to learn how to “open your third eye.” It is an instrument to look and feel beyond the physical senses into the realm of other energies.

When you finish reading the book your healing journey will have begun. You will begin to balance your chakras daily to maintain your health. Resources have been given at the end of the book to help you along.

This is an easy-to-read book.

Great book

The book gives you different things to try, like meditation, writing in a journal, and using things like colors, good food, oils, and special rocks called crystals to feel better.

It's not just about reading—it's about doing things to make yourself feel better. The book also helps you think about yourself and understand why you might be feeling a certain way. By doing the activities in the book, you can learn more about yourself and start to feel better inside and out.

It is a good book for anyone who wants to feel better and make positive changes in their life.

What a beautifully written book!

I have a small amount of knowledge of chakras but I'd never heard of Ho'oponopono but I love the concept of using both together for healing and self care. The book allows you to hold yourself accountable whilst still being gentle with yourself. I learnt so much and can also share this knowledge now with friends.

I loved the self-assessment and the workspace which allows you to plan and recap and the beginning & end of each chapter.

This is a book I know I'll be coming back to over and over again!

The combination of chakras and ho'oponopono is excellent.

Really well written, informative with practical steps to take forward. Even if you are familiar it is good practice to take things back to basics. It is a text i keep returning to and the combination of chakras and ho'oponopono is excellent

Ugh......I'm in agreement with another reviewer who (correctly) observed that there was an awful lot of "copy-&-paste" and repetition in this book. A disappointing read.
