Kal has tricked his cousins, Vin and Sev, into signing up with the Galaxy Mail Order Brides Agency. Well, he’s forged their signatures, but they’re already on their way to Earth, so there’s no turning back. Kal wants to meet a woman, have some fun, and make memories that will keep him company when he’s alone again, back on his home planet, mining ash.
But Kal, Earth name Spark, didn’t count with the strange reluctance of Earthling woman he’s encountered. They can’t seem to run fast enough away from him, despite his honesty. Then there’s the one who told him honesty must come in smaller doses...And then disappeared with a cryptic remark about Fate. He doesn’t know this Fate person, but he’s determined to find him if it’ll help him find the woman again. Everything on this backward planet is strange, from the mating rituals to the language, but he’s determined to master it all, if it means finding her.
This one started promising. The first two chapters, concentrating on the “separate entities” of the hero (and his two cousins) and heroine were good, but it all went downhill pretty fast as soon as the two worlds collided.
The hero sounded and acted like an idiot. I know they’re supposed to be from another planet and the cultural differences are enormous, but still, an intelligent being learns to adapt and seeks multiple sources of knowledge, not just porn and male-stripper videos. Or maybe that’s just what I would do. The heroine turned into a bimbo the moment she laid eyes on the hero, and every attempt at making her not appear shallow (like her background and her charity fork or whatever the hell she did) fell flat, and only made her appear like the one-dimensional character that she was.
The suspense, if you could call it that, felt rather redundant. Almost as if it were added just to create additional conflict and increase the page-count, while also offering an easy, rather deus ex machina solution to the heroine’s skepticism.
The entire story felt redundant, actually. No depth, no personality to the characters and no chemistry between them, it felt like it was written as an afterthought by someone with very little time.
Spark and his cousins come to Earth for a vacation even though they are using the Galaxy Alien Mail Order Brides to get here and that company thinks they are going to find brides but they aren't. They have been informed that Earthlings don't know about aliens from other planets so they need to do everything they can to blend in which isn't easy since they have a strange way of talking. Spark tries to entice a few women to come back to his hotel suite but the way he does it just scares most of them away until he meets Carrie.
Carrie watches the way he interacts with others and thinks he's just really innocent and doesn't understand what he's doing. He's such a big, sexy guy but he's also really fun and sweet so how was Carrie going to stop from falling for him when he has such a great personality.
Carrie is in Las Vegas as a bridesmaid in her cousins wedding. Because she's single she is paired with a groomsman to spend time with but Carrie doesn't like him. So when she meets Spark and spends time with him instead, it makes the bride a bit irritated. There's a bit of a mystery right as Carrie and Spark are getting to know one another and I wondered what was going on because it was a little strange but I liked how it ended.
I had a fun time with this story and am looking forward to reading more.
If like me you've enjoyed the authors Dragon and Var books then you will be acquainted with her penchant for giving readers stories set at the same time but from different points of view. This the first in a trilogy does exactly that as three strapping aliens journey to Earth to discover exactly how welcoming its females are ! So first up is Kal aka Spark and he might not be looking for a permanent relationship but pretty soon he finds himself constantly searching for one very attractive human female. Carrie is doing her duty to her somewhat irritating cousin by agreeing to be her bridesmaid in Las Vegas. She overhears a really odd conversation and pretty soon finds herself both amused by and attracted to the sweetly naive but gorgeous exotic dancer Kal. Trouble is Carrie has no idea just how different Kal really is ! Ok it's quick and perhaps a bit silly but I found it a fun read and it was free ! I did miss the sci fi aspects that this author usually gives her readers but I'm hoping for more from the next book. Not a typical book from this author but still an easy way to see if her idea of romance appeals to you.
I liked this book, but definitely not an Alien lover but Spark sounds pretty HOT, I will definitely be reading more by Author Michelle M. Pillow. I will have to give this book ***3 Stars***
This was a quick, amusing read that gave me "Earth Girls Are Easy" vibe. Kal (Spark) signs up himself and two of his friends for a vacation to Earth. However he did not use a travel agency but a dating agency. They might as well have some fun as long as they're in Vegas. Kal meets Carrie, who is there for her cousin's wedding. She thinks he and his friend are performers since they go by the names Spark, Flame, and Blaze. Kal might have some trouble acclimating to his new environment but his skills in the bedroom need no adjustment.
What a derpy book... Well, not long enough to be a book, just a short, goofy story. Oddly enough, it was so far off the wall, it was actually more fun than most of what passes for romance novels. Should've been a complete book (it ends precipitously in the middle of the story, which is a piss poor way to try to force you to buy more books), but it was fun to see aliens who weren't brainiacs or villains.
This first book in the series is a lot of silly fun. The hero is a sweetheart. I like a sweetheart hero. The humor is slapstick but if you are in the mood for a little awkward hot alien meets earth woman in Vegas, this is a good pick.
Spark, aka Kal, signed him and cousins Flame and Blaze (Vin and Sev) up on a tour of Earth, Las Vegas, with Galaxy Brides who gave them a deal in exchange for reviews. For other aliens of course. Meanwhile charity worker Carrie is the obligatory bridesmaid at her cousin Missy's wedding. When Kal meets Carrie, sparks literally fly, though he's a bit innocent when it comes to earth customs. Pillow has a great sense of humour which always comes through in her books. The trip takes the aliens to Vegas, which means Spark is learning some OTT mating rituals and they're very funny, but he is still a pretty sexy character . These are fun, short entertaining books and I'm looking forward to Vin's story in the next book.
A rather silly, yet entertaining novella. I would have probably enjoyed it a bit more if it had been longer, as some scenes (including the ending), wizzed by so quickly. Where else would 3 aliens go on vacation, but Vegas?
Krátký příběh, roztomilý, ale délka rozhodně uškodila v rámci nějakého rozvoje příběhu (člověk to neočekává od těchto knih, ale já si délky nevšimla, takže mě to zklamalo)
Can an alien male be cute, incredibly innocent, and sexy at the same time? Yep! This novella had me smiling and giggling throughout. Fun and creative. I'm going to have to find the other novellas in this series.
I'm sure a lot of disenchanted single women out there would have no problem switching from Match.com or Tinder to this new Intergalactic Dating Agency, I know I wouldn't. The newest series by Michelle Pillow finds that entrepreneurial Galaxy Alien Mail Order Brides (the ones who supply the brides in the Dragon Lords series) experimenting with the idea of having alien males brought to earth to find brides. For Kal, this looks like the perfect vacation escape for himself and his cousins. They get to vacation away from their hellish existence on a forbidding oven of a planet where they are miners. Their good looks and ability to pass as humans will certainly ensure success and best of all it's free. All he has to do is convince his cousins once they're on the way and he's already forged their names to Galaxy Brides contracts. Luckily his plan works and from that point on I am seriously giggling and chuckling to myself out loud clinching my families suspicions that I live in my own weird strange book world (thanks Michelle).
So Kal and his cousins study up on earth customs and socialization to prep for their vacation where they hope the earth girls won't be able to resist them. (I hear Steve Martin yelling about Wild And Crazy Guys in my mind). Back to the review, this book is hilarious, well paced, over too soon, endearing, and of course hot and sexy. Just so happens Kal and cousins end up learning about human male/female behavior by watching vids of a male strip club, hence they rename themselves Spark (Kal) , Flame and Blaze. Where else does this unlikely trio get sent to but to the Las Vegas strip as Galaxy Brides,in their infinite wisdom thinks anyone can blend in there, even hot hunky slightly misinformed alien males.
Las Vegas being a major hub instant weddings and many bachelor/bachelorette parties finds the heroine of this story stuck at her cousins elaborate event. Coming from wealthy high society families but different as day and night, Carrie must be a bridesmaid for her flashy cousin who has made her part of the wedding party out of familial duty. Being the studious straight A student who has spent a lifetime supporting her parents charity functions, Carrie tries her best to distance herself from her bachelorette bridezilla cousin as much as possible. While enjoying a moment alone having coffee in her hotels restaurant she is intrigued by the strange and funny attempts an amazingly gorgeous but obviously clueless man is making to pick up one of the waitresses. Unable to not check out this guy further Carrie engages in some conversation with Val/Spark. Assuming he works as a flame thrower entertainer (what else with a name like Spark), Carrie decides it's time to enjoy life on the wild side with a gorgeous man, even if the guys a bit on the strange side, and Val thinks he's found his mate.
With crazy funny misinterpretations ,perceptions, and mishaps their budding relationship and adventures lead you on a delightful journey. Mentioning again that this book is hot, it is also exciting, has some suspense and danger, lots of fun new characters including hysterical situations with Val's cousins (can't wait for their books), it's a five star on the entertaining scale so I highly recommend gifting yourself this fun read. Just ask Karma.......
OMG Kal and his cohorts are hysterically funny and true fish out of water!! When Kal secretly signs them up for a Galactic Brides (and Grooms) voyage to Earth, they are uploaded with the weirdest of programming. Think stripper movies, dance movies and other randomness! Once they get over the shock the other boys go with it but none of them have any intention of getting a mate, they just want a vacation!
With their new "earth" names - again those damn stripper movies LOL! Kal now known as Spark, and the boys land in Vegas and do their best to blend in. Enter Carrie. She is the token family bridesmaid at her socialite cousins wedding. She's rather be anywhere else and the groomsman she has been paired with giver her the willies! One look and Kal is in love but his wooing leaves a lot to the imagination!
Take adventurous aliens, new found love, a kidnapping attempt and a truly bridezillafied bachelorette weekend and you have a marvellous romp! Carrie is the epitome of put upon cousin and her reaction to Kal's mating routine is hilarious! Kal and boys will tug your heartstrings as even big bad Sev is just so innocent when it comes to earth!
A great start to a new lighthearted series with some serious thrown in to pace the story. I'm anxious to see how the cousins fare and what women catch their eye and spin their libido.
Any book with Michelle M. Pillow’s name on it is pretty much a guaranteed great read for me. I really enjoyed the new modern day Galaxy Brides or Grooms idea. Ms. Pillow’s worlds and ideas are just downright fun to read about and make readers want more.
Kal (aka Spark) signs himself and his two cousins up to take a trip to earth, he got a discount on the trip, all he had to do was say that he and his cousins wanted to marry earth women. Kal figured it would be easy to meet some earth women, have some hot loving, and go back to work after a couple of weeks – and get a discount on the trip! He nor his cousins signed up for a commitment.
Carrie is in Vegas to be a bridesmaid, not happily, and meets Kal and they have instant chemistry. Kal had a bit of insta-love for Carrie, he wanted to track her down and forgot about other women once they met.
Kal and Carrie are great together; she finds him super hot (of course!) and weirdly innocent and naïve. This is a really fun book to read and the heat and chemistry is off the charts. Highly recommended!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review
I am and Carrie meet and feel an instant attraction. Carrie thinks it is just physical, but as I am pursued her, she read see there is more to it. She thinks he is crazy when he tells her he is from another planet, but realizes the truth when she gets abducted and aliens look into her thoughts. Even knowing the truth, she married him and he decides to stay on Earth with her.
It doesn’t take long to fall in love with those Killian Aliens; we simply need to listen to the three cousins’ banter on their way to the spaceship and how clueless Kal is regarding all things Earth.
The book might be short (it’s a novella, after all), but it is, simply, fantastic.
I already loved Michelle M. Pillow’s sci-fi books, and this one just showed me, again, why I do.
I gave this book 5 stars because I laughed and enjoyed so much. I then bought Fame and Blaze and finished Flame last night and started on Blaze today. They are just fun. Kal is cousin to brothers Vin and Sev. They mine ash on the planet Bravon. Kal signs them up for a vacation on Earth that's free is they agree to look for a bride. The trouble they get into is hilarious. Just so much fun
Kal aka Spark, has signed up himself and his cousins Sev aka Blaze and Vin aka Flame, to the Galaxy Alien Mail Order Brides (GAMOB) and they are on their way to Earth to supposedly find a bride to bring home. They all work on the planet of Bravon and are Killians, a fierce and strong species, who are known to work hard and enjoy fighting. They all work as ash miners on a planet that is too hot on the surface to survive without protective equipment and this is one of the first opportunities for them to have time off together and leave the planet. The organisers at GAMOB have arranged accommodation for them in Las Vegas, as well as training uploads in language and what they would find, with some very weird transmissions of how locals supposedly interact. They have a similar humanoid body and should fit in, but what they have learnt on their stop over, is not exactly up to date or even correct for the situations they will face. Sev and Vin had no idea they were signed up for this, but have no choice now they are on their way. They have everything they should need and even an emergency button in case they run into any trouble! Kal wasn’t really looking for a bride, just a bit of female company, but soon finds Carrie Peterson at a bar, as she escapes from her cousin Missy’s wedding party event. She was forced to attend as a sort of family obligation, due to her wealthy family background ad status, which would look good on Missy’s socials. She was being paired up with a groomsman Greg, but she gets bad vibes from him and wants to avoid as much of the events as possible, which are numerous.
She cries off the pool time with an excuse and ends up in the bar, where she overhears Kal trying to get a woman to come to his bed, in a very open and short manner! He is being extremely honest with the woman he is talking to, but it clearly isn’t working and soon his cousins join him, Carrie is enjoying watching them and listening in and as he gets closer, she ends up giving hm a few hints about his approach to women and the ball gag! He tries to give her his fake name, Spark, but she asks for the name his parents gave him, and he replies Kaldietrichbauer. Quite a mouthful! She wishes him luck on his hunt for a woman and leaves, telling him she will leave it to fate, as to whether they might meet again and that she is around all week. He spends all his time looking of for her afterwards and finally meets up with her and this time she accepts his offer to go to his room and they end up in bed. All of his talk of being an alien throws her and she races off the next morning when one of his cousins comes in and needs his help. When Kal catches up to her, she wants to get away, but ends up in a dangerous situation due to someone else’s problems. Kal’s return flight is leaving early due to Vin and a few other grooms getting into trouble with local authorities, but Kal won’t leave until he sees Carrie again, only to find she is missing! This love story doesn’t end there, as Kal is adamant he will do all he can to get her back and he isn’t leaving without her, or maybe he won’t leave at all. Next up are his cousins’ stories and I look forward to finding out who they fall for and what escapades they have along the way trying to convince human women that they are aliens!
Instant connections with some witty banter and loads of laughs with Kal’s inappropriate mating style, from videos he has seen and thinks are true for all mating rituals! Lots of unexpected situations pop up and bring other sides to the tale, along with love among unusual scenarios and beings. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout, and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
I received this book free as an advanced reading copy, I would like to give an honest opinion of what I read.
This is a really easy reading story and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. It is two people that have real feelings for each other; but at the speed that their attraction was each was afraid to admit to the other how they really felt for the fear of rejection. It also show just how important communication with one another is so important. You never know what is going to happen if you don’t take the risk of stepping out there and taking a chance.
It and only been a month since Amir’s father suddenly past away. Now before he felt that he was ready he is now the king of his country Striberia. His father had wanted to and was in the process of improving the perception of Striberia around the world. He had set up and made plans for an intensive interview with WIRE Network. Now Amir finds himself in the position of representing the royal family as the king. He didn’t feel prepared, he hadn’t thought he would be in this position for an another decade or more. Now he is off to American to try and fulfill his fathers dream and to make he country a better place for the people. He had not been interested in dating for several years. His last relationship in which they had been together years and were planning on spending their lives together ended suddenly when she decided that she didn’t want to deal with the life of being married to a royal.
Meredith had been working at WIRE for two years. She had started right after graduation thinking that she had landed herself a great position. She is a journalist, right now she was running her feet off each day doing chores a mile long. Her hope was that she would soon be doing research, the pitching stories, and eventually reporting them. But after these two years of chores and having one of the lead news casters treat her like a nothing grunt, and yelling at her for no other reason other than to make himself feel more self important was really disillusioned.
When Amir was being given a tour of WIRE by Dan he noticed the pretty red head working in the studio. When he asked Dan who she was his answer was “Meredith is a nobody, just a grunt working there”. This didn’t set well with Amir he felt that each person had a special position and shouldn’t be made to feel like a nobody, He was intrigued by Meredith. Later eventually tracking her down and asking her to show him around the town. Which she did in her own Meredith style. She didn’t see him any different from any one else and he loved it. For the first time since the death of his father she brought light, and life back in his world.
When is time in America is up he doesn’t want to lose her but he is also afraid of scaring her off like his last girl friend. Meredith really does have strong feelings for him as well; knowing that when he leaves she is going to miss him terribly. Then Amir comes up with a deal for her. Is she going to pass it up or take it. What is going to happen when she finds out that she is pregnant? This is such a good story it is one that you need to read and experience for yourself.
Kal (aka Spark)and his two cousins,Vin and Sev, are miners on Frxsolis' They mine ash. Kal had set this up and the cousins were happy until they heard the word Grooms. Kal has to get them to calm down and tells them about the planet they are going to. Earth. Lots of women, games and he's given them all nicknames...He's Spark, the other two are Flame and Blaze respectively. He tells them their names are tough and will have all the earth women thinking they are sexy. They learn their destination is in Nevada. They are told the women are compatible. Sev is worried and states his concerns which Spark blightly brushes off while thinking of what he knows about aliens being found on earth and how they are treated and caught. They arrive at their destination and things go from interesting to dangerous really fast no thanks to their misconceptions of earth culture. Carrie is in Vegas for an obligatory wedding. She's number seven of seven bridesmaids. She's watching all the activity around her and is stunned. She so not wants to be here but it's family and it's required. As she figures out a way to get out of the going to the pool she's sipping her coffee when she hears a male's voice offering up a very cheesy come-on line. AFter listening to him talk to two other males and what he is holding and leading picking up a woman with..yeah he really is clueless. When he finally sees her and asks her if she'll stay she tells him fate will determine whether they meet again and she leaves. As she walks away she finally looks at her surroundings and realize everyone there is happy in one way of the other.Has she ever been happy? Meanwhile Spark spends two days trying to find her. There is something about her that calls to him. He finally finds her as she's hiding from the bridal party and the groom she's suppose to mingling with..that is a very hard pass for her. Spark is excited to have found her and after some confusing conversation with her cousin he sweeps Carrie off her feet and carries out. Now that he's found her he's going to stick with her. For the next few days life alongside Spark and his two friends seem to bounce between innocence and total chaos until he makes his grand reveal and she thinks he's bonkers. Will he convince her before the authorities catch up to the three of them? A funtastic story that will the reader laughing with the inance situations and the total misconstruing of earth words and culture.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Kal and his two cousins are ash miners on Bravon, and he came up with a way to get a very discounted ride to Earth to find brides via the Galaxy Alien Mail Order Brides, maiden voyage. His cousins, Vin & Sev, he tricked and signed them up when they were passed out after a celebration and took their thumbprint signatures. He is a bit of a prankster. The book is fun, funny, crazy, romantic and steamy. A bit scary too. Since Earth’s majority don’t know about all of the different aliens out there, there isn’t politics that they would have to deal with. Kal took the name Spark, and chose Flame for Vin & Blaze for Sev for their Earth IDs. Kal has a very innocent fun quality to him and he is so sincere and honest, it is adorable and hilarious at the same time. He gets in to so much trouble. Everything he knows about Earth is pretty much what the Gamob gave him plus some video transmissions.
Carrie Peterson is in Las Vegas because her cousin, Missy is having her bachelorette week there before the wedding to her Chuck’s. Missy pretty much chose Carrie as the last bridesmaid because it was expected of her, and Missy is a bit of a bridezilla. I felt really bad for Carrie because she really doesn’t fit in with Missy and her posse. I did like Pat of that crew tho as does Carrie. Greg is the groom that she is supposed to walk with during the wedding and he seems to be on the smarmy side and too interested in Carrie’s whereabouts.
Carrie overhears Kal/Spark while he is being extremely honest with another woman and she tries to help him and set him straight on a few things. Hilarity ensues. As does mischief and mayhem. Carrie leaves and tells him that if he is to see her again, it is up to Fate. We hear that Vin gets detained by the police and Sev goes to handle that while Carrie and Kal get “natural.” lol. Cultural misunderstandings happen and Carrie is sad that she has ended up with someone who is so hot but is either schizo or delusional. Then someone kidnaps Carrie and Kal snaps into action. A fight, a riot, and a bunch of ther stuff happens and things get sorted out. I loved this book and the series. It’s so cool. I can’t wait to read Vin & Sev’s story.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Kal and his cousins Vin and Sev are from a mining planet with few females and no good options for having a family. Kal signed himself and his cousins up with Galaxy Brides Corporation. Mostly he was looking for a free vacation. If he found love while he was there, he would be very happy. His cousins aren’t very happy when they hear what Kal has done but they are already on their way and there is no going back. They decide they need earth names so Kal becomes Spark, Vin becomes Flame and Sev becomes Blaze. They spent the trip learning about the earth females and their mating customs. Unfortunately for the boys, they are a few hundred years out of date!!
Carrie Peterson is in Vegas for her cousins wedding. She hates everything about it so she is always sneaking off. She sees Spark trying to pick up women and is amazed by his awful lines. When Kal approaches her, she tells him he is never going to find any women with his horrible approaches. She fills him in on what he is doing wrong and then runs off. Spark is infatuated with her and spends two days looking for her before he finally finds her. When they meet again, he convinces her to spend some time with him. She is captivated until he tells her he is an alien. She thinks he is crazy and runs again, only to be kidnapped and held for ransom.
This is a very cute story of three guys trying to blend in and doing a terrible job of it. If you have read any of Michelle’s other books with the Galaxy Brides Corporation in it, you know they obviously have a long history, but I don’t think they got off to a very good start!! I can’t wait to see how the other two find their brides!

Well what can I say other than I had higher expectations for this book. I mean after I read the blurd about 3 alien hotties that work in a mining planet who end up going to earth in search of brides.... sounded interesting to me. But instead what I got was an insta-love story full of cliches. You have the bachelor who's anti commitment who only wants to have a good time with the ladies. Then you have the leading lady who's oh so good and sweet who's always done the right thing and never had any fun or done anything reckless. They meet and its love at first sight especially for him, he cant get her out of his mind so he goes to find her. Once he does he makes quick work of seducing her and she decides to be reckless for once in her life and so they end up spending the night together. It was the one and only sex scene between them in the whole book and it was very quick and brief. I felt a bit cheated to be honest, I was looking forward to an amazing hot moment between them I mean the guy was HOT! Tall, buff and with tattoos covering one side of his body oh mama I was fanning myself. The scene was more comedic than anything else with misunderstandings galore. When something was about to happen Carrie took the lead, threw him on the bed and rode him for all of 2 seconds. Spark apart from touching her for all of a second did nothing letting her take the lead, he seemed to not know what to do, timid even which couldn't be right since he'd admitted at the start of the story that he'd been with plenty of women. So what was that about??? I have no idea. The morning after surprise surprise after having sex just once he's in love and knows she's the one (oh please). Same day she is suddenly kidnapped right out of the blue which seemed to me a filler to keep the story going, it was just so random even if it was explained later. We also have in the middle of that, one of Sparks cousins being thrown into jail to give us the plot of the next book in the series. I'll give the 2nd book a try to see if it's not as corny as this one was with its insta-love plot but if it is I will definitely not continue with this series.
