Tyson and some of his pack are acting as emissaries to other packs in the state when they suddenly spot something on the side of the road and he picks up the scent of blood. It’s a girl, lying in the road. She’s beaten and bloody.
Alicia wakes up, can’t remember much other than her name and age. She’s hurt. Someone seems to have beat the daylights out of her. And she’s in someone else’s—a male’s—clothing.
Then a rugged hot guy walks in. Now she realizes how lost she is.
Tyson and a few members of his pack are on their way back home, driving through a rival pack's territory when they pick up the scent of blood on the side of the road. They think it might be a setup but they stop anyway. They find Alicia who has been stabbed. They pick her up and load her into their vehicle and bring her back to their pack where their doctor can ptch her up. Tyson and his pack are wolf shifters so now with a human in their house, they have to be careful and not scare her by wolfing out.
Once Alicia wakes up, she can't remember what happens. But she knows she feels safe with Tyson for some reason. Tyson doesn't want to admit it right away but Alicia is his mate. Something really bad happened to her and she keeps getting small flashes of what happened but she knows that there's something really important that she can't remember.
Tyson is so patient with her while she recovers and tries to remember what happened to her and who would want to stab her and why. They can't keep their hands off each other because of the pull of the mate bond but that's ok because they really needed each other. Tyson wondered why he hadn't met his mate before now so he's happy to finally find her. Alicia really needed someone in her corner to be there for her.
I liked the mystery of who tried to kill Alicia and why. The ending was great.
After having read several duds, it's nice to read a book that is both written well, edited well, has a good plot and characters that are well rounded and act their age (it's a long story).
This is a new author to me, but I've gone ahead and bought both book 2 and 3 in the series, and I can't wait to dig in. It's been a while since I read anything paranormal or shifer'y, so it was nice that this was the first book back. I have a feeling this is going to go on my re-read pile of books. You know the pile, the one with all the comfort books that you pick up again and again when you need to read something you just KNOW is good.
Mostly read shifter books and some were very appealing but, this one was a very disappointed story. I was expecting a bit more action or maybe a little more backstory or more time for the mains to catch feelings for each other. Al thought the usage of shifters having other supernatural beings be there mates was very open minded. Only two stars because i really wished there was more into the plot or more characteristics on the world building.
Alicia was brought to Silver claw territory to join the Rose coven. But after finding out their High Priestess. Aedwena was killing witch and stealing their powers Alicia decided to help catch Aedwena and leave the coven. During the fight that ensued, trying to catch Aedwena, she use her magic to send herself somewhere safe.
What will happen to Alicia? Does she arrive somewhere safe? And how can she stay safe once she is there?
Cute, romantic, adventurous and mysterious. The romance is a bit thick but it's not bad. The mystery around Alicia is thrilling and exciting. I think Alicia and Tyson are super cute. Tyson is adorable and I love his protective side. Overall not bad.
I absolutely LOVE THIS read🥰 Hunk, damsel in distress. Wicked villain. The only thing missing is the information for the drugs Silver Pack used since their rules ban usage.
3 1/2****. An enjoyable PNR read featuring a lonesome wolf shifter and a mysterious woman he rescues. This was a fast read and introduces other characters that may follow in the series. I thought that the ending was a bit rushed but otherwise a good start to the series.
First book I've read of this author and I'm hooked... I like how she writes, the way the characters' story developed and the world she introduced. I'll read the next book of this series and see what else I can find of this author...
This writers voice and writing style isn't interesting or distinctive enough for me to realize that I apparently have read some of their other books already. This plot wasn't bad. It wasn't the worst book I've read. It wasn't interesting enough to convince me to buy the rest of the series.
I enjoyed this from the beginning. The characters were spot on. I was surprised by the ending but really got into it. A wonderful short read. Would recommend to all.
