Hatching Love
Dr. Thomas cardiothoracic surgeon, self proclaimed “greatest husband” and now ghost believes his wife’s strong and loyal heart keeps him “living” in his home beside her. Tom tells his tale from the point of view of a narcissist that can see everything but change nothing.
The story opens with Tom’s wife, Beth, receiving a shipment of duck eggs. She has watched a YouTube video and was charmed by the idea of hatching a duck egg using her body temperature. She believes, either consciously or subconsciously, that hatching an egg will cure her malaise and set her on the path to finding joy. However, when she carelessly orders a dozen eggs, she must find other people, who like her, are looking for something. She renames her project a “happiness experiment” in order to lure others to join her and posts it on Facebook.
An unlikely group replies to Beth’s her handyman, a young mother and her three young daughters and a mysterious man join her wearing a hatching belt and egg. Each with their own private desire. Tom, derisive of the experiment, but supportive, takes a keen interest in each participant and resolves to discover their motives. By taking an interest in other’s lives, he begins to learn about himself, what kind of man he was and what kind of man he wants to become.
This is a story of how the human-animal bond can heal, connect and redeem us all – even possibly a very jaded ghost!

I won this book through Goodreads and put it off on reading it, who knows why ?? But the other day I figured why not now, I really didn’t know much about this book and no clue what to expect. Well to my surprise it was such a great read and now i wonder why I didn’t read it earlier. It was a quick read and very enjoyable with some sad moments and some good lessons on life . I guess it was better late than never !!!
