When witch, and former cop, Grace Angelo decides to take a beach vacation with her friend Dario, the last thing she expects is to get involved with another mystery. But when she explores the coastal town with her special dog, Noah, their beach walk is cut short when they stumble across a group of people dragging a dead body from the sea.
Local detective Zach Jackson is soon on the case, and just as quick, Grace agrees to help discover what happened to the deceased - a local scuba diving instructor. The mystery deepens when a number of Viking artifacts surface and are sold on the black market.
Suspecting these are connected, Grace starts digging and finds a dark underbelly to the otherwise idyllic town. She’ll need all her skills and abilities if she’s to get to the bottom of the mystery and untangle the teasing clues.
A Tangled Teaser is the third cozy mystery in the Witches of Hemlock Cove series. All books can be enjoyed in any order. They don’t contain any great violence, sex, or profanity but instead feature clues and a puzzle the listener can play along with 0 and of course, Grace’s special and adorable pets.

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...
1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.
2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.
3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.
4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.
5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
I am enjoying the Witches of Hemlock Cove series. In the tale, Grace goes away for a few days of rest with her friend Dario (platonically) and her dog Noah. On her first day she gets up and takes Noah for some running on the beach and meets Maria, who tells her about her job as an archeologist and introduces her to her husband (John, I think.) On the way back she comes upon a couple of people who have discovered a body and have pulled it up onto the beach. Although not giving details, one gets the impression that the body is partially missing pieces. She, Dario and Zach (and Noah) set out to discover what happened and also to investigate Viking artifacts that are reportedly being found and sold on the black market. My one and only (and big) complaint is, if you are going to have so many cast members, give them distinctive names. I'm pretty sure there was an Anthony, an Aiden and an Arthur. I have a hard time remembering who is who. Maybe if we got to know each character a little better before jumping into the next one would help. But do Abe, Ben and Charlie, or something. Please.
I had trouble connecting to the main character. I understand little of what drives her and am not clear on her relationships and those close to her either. I suspect it relies heavily on earlier books for characterization, so this is a more superficial plot-only story. Mystery was okayish but it's hard to care when everything feels a bit flat. I'm sure others will like it better who don't have my expectations of depth.
I enjoyed this book but two things bothered me. The cryptic state of the diver's condition interrupted the story as I tried to figure it out and I knew the murderer halfway through the book. The characters didn't seem as well developed as in previous books, but perhaps that was so there would be more suspects. Looking forward to reading the next book.
I couldn't put my tablet down until I had finished the book. It was very interesting and exciting. I enjoyed every minute reading it. Thank you for writing this book!
I really enjoyed this book, it would be a perfect book to read while sat on a hot beach somewhere. The characters are memorable and the plot had me guessing until the end. I'm looking forward to reading more by this author.
Still not hearing much about hope and joy it would be nice to understand a bit more about them and it would be nice to know why they dont practice witchcraft anymore
Another good book in this series. With every book we learn a bit more the back story to each character. Having pets involved as supporting characters wins brownie point from me :)
It has been so fun to get three books from the A Witch Cozy Murder Mystery series so close together. I have enjoyed all three books but A Tangled Teaser is my favorite so far. This one includes very little paranormal but I love that she can communicate mentally with her lab and her cat who act like real pets beyond that fact that they can talk to her. We are still being teased about who she might establish a relationship with but it doesn't have the feeling the some longer run cozies do. Grace is present when a partial body is pulled out of the ocean near a wealthy enclave. Since she is staying in the area Zach hires her to consult again and despite the fact that she is supposed to be on vacation she is delighted to have official backing for what her nature would push her to do anyway.
Grace never gets a break. While on a vacation, with Dario, she stumbles across a body and must help Zach solve the murder. She meets new faces, friend and foe, while going through clues. There is the murder to solve and the black market dealing of Viking artifacts, are they connected? Chase gives us fun characters, a murder with a few twists and teases us with a possible love triangle. I am dying to know if Zach or Dario will catch her heart, someone needs to make a move. My copy was given for my honest review.
I almost gave up on this series, but this book is improved enough to redeem its author. I see clear signs of better writing, she has toned down the disturbing mom and dad inside the cat and dog element and the characters are starting to develop. I still don't get anything much more witchy than a psychic here, except for sister Hope who is decidedly odd and the animals are smarter than average. Still the book is readable with a pleasant little mystery and it's hard to say anything bad about that.
Loved it. A break with her bookshop owner is just what she needs. However she didn't expect to see a dead body being pulled to shore when she took her dog out. Sunken treasure, black market sales and dishonour amongst thieves throw her into another investigation with the local detective. Can they stop the sale of the treasure and catch the killer. A good quick light reaf that will entertain.
This is a good cozy mystery with very little witchcraft involved. Definitely a very confusing who dun it, with all th various people an names involved. I do wish there was a bit more humor in this series but overall this and all the ones I've read have been interesting stories.
I'm really enjoying this series. The plot moves along quickly, the characters are sympathetic (even the bad guys!) and the setting is interesting. Highly recommended.
Book 3 in a witch cozy murder was just as awesome as the first 2 great characters are back again to solve another awesome mystery this really is becoming a favourite new series
Grace, Noah and Zach investigate to find out why the scuba instructor was murdered. Wading through the multiple suspects and verifying alibis to the answers.
Loved the book, each book is similar in format but different stories; easy to read and readable in few hours, just the thing to while away an afternoon. Looking forward to the next one.
I really like this book, not to mention the whole series. Grace is one awesome lady and I have great hopes for her and Dario. He is such a nice person. Noah kind of steals the show along with Charity.
