The Intern: A Football Romance Short

Rate this book
Why did my first interview have to be with the football superstar?

Vincent Lee was a known playboy. He went through models and cheerleaders on a monthly basis. Girls will do anything for his attention. Can you imagine the death stares I got in the office after being selected for the one-on-one?

The last thing I need to worry about is falling for a hot football pro. I just need to hold it together and survive the interview without lunging at him.

I’m scheduled in last. So there’s plenty of time for my imagination to run wild....

Oh, and did I mention he moved the interview to the locker room so he could shower? How am I going to get through this without getting in trouble?

The Intern is a football romance short with a very HEA. My first attempt at audio.

On her first assignment for “Sports Illustrated” as a reporter, Natasha Belman was very nervous. She would be reviewing NFL quarterback Vincent Lee on the Dallas Cowboys team. She was already taking heat from her co-workers for being the one selected to interview the notorious playboy!

She arrived late, not having seen the ESPN reporter finish up his interview and leave. So Vincent was wrapped in a towel and in front of his locker. He sat on a bench and told her to go ahead and get started. The interview went well, the questions not run-of-the-mill ordinary but going deeper and making Vincent even squirm a little. When they finished, he asked her to dinner, fully expecting her compliance.

After dinner, he flirted with her and touched her leg under the table. It was difficult for Natasha to not moan in public! When he saw she was enjoying his company, he stood up, threw money on the table, and said, “That is your punishment.” Apparently the difficult questions she asked had upset him more than she knew! He had totally played her!

A week later, there was a knock on Natasha’s door. A driver was there to take her to the stadium where she was seated in the luxury sky box to watch the game. She knew this time Vincent was up to something, but she was ready for his trickery.

After the game, he came up behind her and asked her to come home with him. This was her chance to teach him a lesson! Was she strong enough to carry it out? Would revenge end the game they were playing? Or was it not a game at all this time?

For a short story like this one, the author managed to pack in a ton of story line, character emotions, and something actually believable! I really thought this was well done. I can wait to listen to the audiobook version as well!

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is a short and steamy read about a young woman named Natasha who was starting a career in sports reporting and her first assignment was to interview Vincent Lee, a star quarterback. Vincent was known as a playboy and when Natasha interviewed him, she asked him tough questions, that made him more interested in her. Vincent asked her to dinner and then made a move, but left her frustrated in the restaurant. Natasha was angry and thought Vincent was a jerk. When they met again, Vincent wanted to see Natasha again, but she wondered what his motives were. This was a good story. I liked Natasha and i thought Vincent was a bit of a jerk, until Natasha put him in his place. Good one.

Very short and hot story
I liked this micro romance knowing that there are less than 20 pages and that the author has still managed to maintain his style and my attention.
For her first big interview, Natasha finds herself in the locker room with the notorious playboy Vincent. At the end of a rather aggressive interview she conducts, Vincent's attraction is relatively visible, and he invites Natasha to dinner, without giving her too much time to answer, leaving her only with the choice to come or flee. But what happens next is not really what she expected from this meal.

After an interview that she's been dying to get in order to get her feet wet at work, Natasha is swept up in lust with Vincent Lee, football player in every sense of the word. Though very unsure of his motives, Natasha still is intrigued enough to try to find out what he really wants from her. Vincent, though a bit cocky in the beginning, can't forget about her and pursues her. A good story.

This is a short, insta-lust story that turns into a romance.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book.

This novella is about Natasha and Vincent. The plot was entertaining and the chemistry was good. Natasha was very likable and Vincent grew on me. For its length this read offered a lot of emotional intensity. In my opinion it is a good read but would have been better with an addition to the length. This is my honest, voluntary review.

The short story was similar scenarios to the "player genre".
However, I found the narrator the most interesting part of this audiobook. Although not as polished as most narrator's, with just a straight read, without voice characteristics being used, the reader added enough panache, to make it enjoyable.

Short and to the point. Steamy love a first sight, I really like that although he is a football player, he is not playing games when it comes to her and although she is attracted to him instantly she is determined and focused on getting her job done. I am voluntarily reviewing a free copy.

Natasha and Vincent will heat up your Kindle before the opening toss. A lot packed into this short novella. Steamy with some drama and an HEA. I read a reader copy and voluntarily chose to review.
