This is the second book in the Dark Mafia Romance Series. The series just gets better and more intense. This is a real page turner and hard to put down once you begin. A great read that is well written with captivating characters and an engaging story line. This is Damien's and Everly's story and is it ever steamy. Damien is a former Navy Seal and a friend of Zayn that we met in the first book. This book has it all, the mafia, murder, kidnapping, revenge and lots of suspense. The attraction and chemistry between Damien and Everly was intense. Damien's sister Penelope and Everly became friends at work and school and that is how Everly met Damien. Both girls had a lot in common since they were both from big mafia families. Damien and Everly both had lots of issues with their father's and the road for them was not an easy one. Damien has lots of concerns and questions about his lifestyle. No spoiler here, but the book does have a good ending. I read an arc from Bad Boy Update and voluntarily chose to review.

Eric know how to write the MOB! Seal + Nurse = Brilliancy in the making! This has everything you could want...Panty Scorching love scenes, Drama, Intrigue, Suspense, Romance. Damien and Everly are a match even though neither expects it. This book was enlightening and intriguing. Eric sets this world in such a fashion that you can't help but fall in love with each of these characters. I learned a lot about the mob reading this book. Some was very diagrammatic and some scenes were illuminating. Eric must have a vast knowledge of the MOB as he writes like he has lived through these characters. I found this book to be expressive and very well thought out. Every scene was directed as if it was written directly to the reader. It takes a pretty good writer to achieve that and Eric has succeeded in doing just that! Wonderful story and I am going to say that I want more from this author!

Damien and Everly fall for each other and he is ready to leave the mob for her. Will he be able to break away from his mob family? This is a fast-paced read with plenty of drama and steam. The story is action packed and entertaining. I liked it.

Bad Boys Can Be Good Men...

Everly has been working tirelessly to improve herself and the finish line is finally in sight.
Although there are moments that she felt trapped she'd do what was required of her just to keep the peace.
Damien envied his friend Zayn he personally felt nothing for his father the only person he cared for with his Last name was his sister and their father would do anything to crush her.
Life was good his best friend was married to the girl he loved an their baby could wait to join them when his cellphone rang and his world crashed.
Everly never thought she'd be in this position but here she was with her new friend facing uncertain danger from a very real threat.
Damien would move heaven and earth to find them and when he did he was going to make them pay and pay dearly. As always bad pennies will pop up when you least expect them and getting rid of them can give you major headaches.
He knew she was special and he wanted her now more then ever however his father hits him with a demand out of left field that leaves him horrified.
Things are never simple when you have to many people trying to manipulate you but Damien doesn't have time to play games he needs to put and end to it once and for all before someone he loves gets hurt.

I received this ARC from Bad Boy Update. I love Book 2!! Damien knows his life is not his own since he left the SEALS. He works for his father and is trying to keep his sister out of the life. She wants to be a nurse and he will make sure she can follow he dreams. Everly loves being a nurse and is almost finished her Masters. The long hours are worth it, but with her father always calling her to attend to his men, to avoid hospitals, she wonders if she will ever be free to choose her own future. Her one bright spot is her new friend who is a student to and gets what it's like to be in a "family". Everyly isn't looking for romance, but when she meets Damien she can't help herself. Everly is the first woman that interests Damien beyond a quick few hours. Soon they are wrapped up in the danger that is targeting both their families. I love the drama, secrets, snark and passion...just so good!

WOW! I really liked the first book, but I think the second book was even better. This story had everything you could ask for – great characters, great storyline, drama, intrigue, action, passion, chemistry, and finding out what you are really made of. This is the story of Damien and Everly. Both are children of mob bosses. Damien is doing everything he can to make his Dad proud of him and show him he is capable of taking over the family business. Everly just wants away from the mob lifestyle. She wants to be free to do what she wants. Both mob bosses are trying to get Damien to be interested in Everly to help promote the family business and be united. Damien wants to the do the right thing and let Everly choose how she lives her life after everything she has been through. Another great read and I am anxious to start on the next book!

2 1/2 Stars....
This is the second book of Eric Steele's had some issues. You can tell by the cadence of speech and how sentences read that English is not this author's first language. This book sometimes reads like a YA book, the characters think and act little young. There are some inconsistencies in the storyline, awkward jumps, scenes ended and started up oddly. Damian never felt like a SEAL, had no brothers in arms, etc. Was Everly studying to be a nurse or a doctor? If you can get past all that, there isn't a bad story here, just tough to get to.

Book 2 in this series can easily be read as a standalone. I really enjoyed this book, the plot was great, and I liked the characters, there was enough depth to make the story easy to follow and enjoy. I’m really getting into this series and looking forward to reading more. I like how the author tells the story from dual points of view and also puts in the characters thought processes along the way and not just their actions and dialogue.

When I started this book, I was all for Damien and Everly. But as the book went on, I felt there were too many basic grammar errors that his editor didn't catch. And by the time I finished I had not felt touched by the romance. And the ease with which the pair escapes Mafia work didn't fit with the rest of the plot. Parts of the plot never made sense, like what was Everly's mother doing? I volunteered this review after reading an ARC.

This is the story of Damien and Everly. This is the second book in this series and it is getting better and better. The story is full of suspense, romance, mafia, sizzling chemistry. You will not be disappointed in this book. Looking forward to see what comes next.

I really enjoyed this book. Damien and Everly are great characters and find love at the most inopportune time. Damien is now my go-to alpha character; having all the qualities of a dark character as well as a character that finds the light. It's a great combination of both dark and light. Everly's character is well developed and well suited to Damien's character. Each character has their share of baggage which is well defined throughout the story. It's got it all; hot sex, romance, intrigue, and suspense.

I look forward to reading more of Eric Steele's novels.
