A cursed treasure. A haunting scream. Drown your tears in Raven House wine.

Finn is devastated. Struggling to reconcile with his mother at his father’s funeral in Southern California, Emmie and the gang do their best to support him. But after his father’s ghost warns them of a legendary curse, the truth is undeniable and his death was anything but natural.

Still reeling from his brother’s suicide two years earlier, Finn seeks answers at his Godfather’s historic Raven House Vineyard and home to his childhood playground—a decaying Spanish mission called “the ruins.” But nothing is what it seems when the visit leaves them with more questions and a troubling problem.

Haunting cries for help are tormenting Sarah’s dreams.

Who can they trust when a looming evil permeates the sprawling property, and the lure of lost treasure still beckons the living and the dead?

The curse threatens to drag them all to hell if they continue.

Even worse, it might already be too late.

When Emmie, and Sarah accompany Finn to California they know it’s going to be an emotional and trying time … but NO ONE is prepared for the evil unleashed at “Raven House”! Mystery, betrayal, suspense, a healthy helping of paranormal noir, and more twists than a kite’s tail in the wind, “Raven House” had me loosing sleep, and muttering no, no, no … please no! … as I worried and fretted over the futures of the characters I’d come to care so much about! The plot is AMAZING! Meticulously detailed, beautifully and interestingly explained in a way that becomes part of the story, complete with a delightfully dark “feel”! I was transported to another world! A world where those who covet riches and treasure would do anything, and use anyone … to fulfill their evil dreams! A world of characters delightfully defined, incredibly developed, and beautifully human … some likable, some to be pitied, and some to be truly despised. I’m giving no names … as you listen, you’ll see who fits where! The scenes, the characters, the feel, brilliantly brought to life, transporting me into the vision of the author by smooth flowing, perfectly timed, perfectly paced narration! I felt like I was there, watching everything happen in real time, breath held, emotions raw, as this magnificent story played out, and I loved it! I loved everything about “Raven House”! Five stunning stars!

Another thoroughly enjoyable and well crafted romp through the spirit world. Murders and the supernatural normally follow Emmie around but, in the introduction to this mystery, it was complete strangers who died in an interesting manner without her involvement. The connection becomes clearer later in the book when the usual 'gang' gather to try to solve a family suicide and a covered up murder.

Red herrings, twists in the plot, unexpected supernatural appearances and turns along the way all entertained me leading up to the eventual confrontation with the 'missing' Liam.

Distressed spirits as a result of centuries of greed, pilfering Spaniards and parents desperate enough to go to extremes to discover their daughter's whereabouts were all in the mix. I had hoped that some of the spirits trapped with the treasure would be former slaves who could have helped the gang but the story took another route which almost led to Sarah's death.

All in all up to the usual standard.

I received an ARC copy but the views are my own.

This book was so fun to read on so many levels, and scary too of course. One of the main things I enjoyed as a long time reader of this series is the resolution we got to one of the character's backstory. It was satisfying to see it come to a conclusion that was more peaceful for all involved. I also enjoyed the mystery surrounding the disappearance of some key characters, the thrill of a treasure hunt, the search for clues and the creepiness of the ghostly nightmares and spirits that surrounded our friends throughout the story. This series keeps getting better and better with every book and I don't mean that as a slight to the first book, as this series started off on a stellar note. It's just that you'll get more and more invested in these characters as you go along and the stories become more involving and fun. It's like returning to friends you haven't seen for a while and have missed. This book was set in southern California and that's also one of the things I enjoyed, as it was different from the usual Minnesota setting and provided a unique experience for our psychic friends. I can't wait to see where their adventures take them next.

I love the Emmie Rose series. Emmie, Sarah and Finn return to Finn's hometown for his father's funeral. While there Emmie sees Finn's dad and knows what it means. He was murdered. Sarah is having weird dreams and the deeper they investigate, they find that there is a curse on an Aztec treasure. I like the way the group work together to find the answers and solve the mystery. I would highly recommend it. I received an advance copy of this book and this is my honest review.

A Spanish curse

Finn is at his father's funeral and dealing with his emotions concerning his family and the death of his brother. Emma and Sarah are with him and trying to help him deal with these emotions. The quest for answers takes them in many directions and the ending is not what you expect. Definitely a good story for paranormal fans.

I just love Emmie, Sarah and Finn! I enjoyed the background of Finn's life, especially his brother. His brother's suicide has always haunted Finn, I was happy he finally was able to connect and learn the truth. Story line was enjoyable, as always.

Good read although a little predictable

I am really enjoying this series of books. This one was a little west to guess at but that might be because I'm a regular reader of this author and stories similar to this one

Good plot

Good plot needed development. Characters also could have used some fleshing out . descriptions, personality, history etc.. More back ground on the evolution of the curse.

Received as an audio review copy from Story Origin, this is an honest review. Breathtaking narrated by Kasi Hollowell, delivers one hell of a harrowing performance as Raven House is a very darkly personal story. Finn's life is truly shattered in the wake of his father's death but it's during the funeral Emmie witnesses the man's ghost and knows something isn't normal and this soul is in turmoil. The return home for Finn plunges him into the trauma of the profound of his brother and the struggle to help his mother handle another tragic loss cutting the family apart. Seeing the suffering of Finn's brother spirit, forces Finn, Emmie and Sarah to find the truth behind the two men's deaths from certain people that has a deep influence upon Finn's life. The sick greed surrounding the desire to hold an ancient treasure and a crumbling ruin of a once magnificent old Spanish mission haunted by the lost souls become the setting for a whole lot of anger, desperation and sadness with a dark truth that's leaves its mark upon the group that no other paranormal encounter has done better.

Highly recommended.
