First of all, are the enemies to lovers in the room with us??? Because I’m so sorry, if they’re not still being vicious to each other by the 100 page mark it doesn’t count babe. And then secondly, all that and they don’t even fuck nasty in or on the car??? I could read unpublished F1 fanfiction better than this!! Actually, I could write my own unpublished F1 fanfiction better than this, and you KNOW I’d do enemies to lovers right (have Violet try to run him over with his car).

the thrill this gave me sent me back to the early lauren asher days!!!!

my love of f1 romances started awhile ago and i have yet to find a really good one to bring me back into the genre. i heard really good things about the first book in the series but i didn’t feel like buying it so i requested the arc of this. i’m happy to report that i loved this romance !!!

violet and chase started hooking up and then they come to work for the season realizing they’re working for the same team. #drama. chase is an f2 driver who got called up and violet is the head of pr. the book is them hooking up and eventually gaining feelings. they chapters moved so fast and the plot wasn’t huge so we spent lots of time with the characters and their careers. the added elements of jealousy were put into the book at just the right moments and i loved it. violet was the star of the show for me though. as a girlie who is angry, mean, and scared…. i loved her endlessly.

i probably won’t go back and read the first book but im really happy to know that if i need my fix of f1 romances i can count on this author/series!!

This book was so enjoyable, not once did I get bored while reading it! Chase Navarro, mmc, is every girls dream 🥰 As a f1 fan, I love that there was a lot of the sport involved which kept even more entertaining!

Chase and Violet’s relationship was chaotic yet slow building which I loved, it only made me more excited for their relationship throughout the book. Their chemistry was impeccable, intimately and emotionally! The reverse grumpy x sunshine was so much fun to read!

Okay okay okay. Let’s get RIGHT into it because this book? This book is a GEM. It’s got tension. It’s got steam. It’s got growth. It’s friends with benefits turning into "it's always been you" and I am currently screaming into the sky. Amanda, what have you done to me.

Also, fun fact: my TikTok algorithm now thinks I’m a full-time F1 bestie. I have no idea how pit stops work, I panic-watch races and immediately skip to the end, but suddenly I am very into behind-the-scenes drama and driver interviews. Who am I.

This is book two of the Racing Hearts series! You get to follow Violet and Chase!!!! Violet is feisty and no one does PR better than her. Chase has been promoted to F1 and is looking at making a name for himself! Get ready for intense push and pull between our two main characters because wow!!! I don’t think they were ready for what hit them and watching the fight it made it all better because their chemistry was chefs kiss! I also enjoyed watching them try and make this losing F1 team into something better, it was so entertaining!

Kiss & Collide we get our girl Violet’s story. She was the PR bestie from the first book. She is a take no names baddie who sets up all the pieces of the board and makes everything happen. Chase is a F2 driver and when he is basically brought in to replace one of the F1 drivers she now needs to make him shine. But they do have a past.
I love Chase. He is that golden retriever type of character that you just can’t help but loving. He is the opposite of Will in a way that he isn’t a player that you get from the beginning of the first book. He wants what his parents have. Violet has been burned and she is that hesitant person to jump into anything. And While this book does contain some miscommunication in it I think it was done well and it wasn’t stretched out completely and fit the plot of the book well. It wasn’t just put there as a means to initiate discourse but becuase of things the characters went though.
This year I am newer to the F1 scene and books but if Amanda Weaver is going to keep writing them then I will be purchasing and reading all of them becuase she is becoming my top F1 author!

I unfortunately ended up DNFing this at about 15%. There was a couple of reason for this, one being the format (PDF on the netgalley app with the abhorrently large margins), the rest were book related. I read the prologue and wanted to give up because it was really clunky but I kept going. The rest of it flowed a lot better but the plot and characters kind of lost me. One thing that made me give up was the fact that the MMC (male main character) was repeatedly said to be a “low rated F2 driver”. For those who don’t know, F2 is the feeder series to F1 but most F2 drivers won’t make it unless they have team connections, money, a really great F2 season or a combination of all three. So basically, the MMC isn’t going to be great and is repeatedly called kind of useless. I don’t want to read about a highly qualified woman with a guy whos jsut kind of there. I mean I know its a book and he’ll probably end up being great but I just couldn’t. Then theres all the American/British stuff. This was written by an American with a bit of awareness of american stereotypes but it still felt king of uncanny valley (I don’t know if thats the best way to describe it but I can’t think of anything else).

Anyway, wasn’t working for me for a number of reasons. Maybe in a different format I would have read longer and fallen in love with it but as an avid DNFer I think its unlikely. If a book doesn’t start good I don’t think it’ll get better.

This was so enjoyable and felt like one of the more authentic F1 romances out there. I think this is in huge part to the characters. They felt like well-rounded people instead of the same stock characters that I tend to see in a lot of sports romance. I loved the way Violet and Chase's backstory was seamlessly woven in to show what (*coughs*) drives them. It's refreshing to see a gender reversal with the female character reluctant to commit (for good reason). Chase was an utter sweetheart and wore his heart his heart on his sleeve, while Violet is far more reluctant to openly date him given the misogyny women in sport face. It was also welcome to see Mira and Will make cameos.

Thoroughly addictve. I can't wait for more from Amanda Weaver.

Y’all I cannot wait for this to be released! I loved this book! I do wish it was a dual pov instead of third person but I still think it was easy to follow and connect with the characters. Chase is so sweet and patient and I just adored him. There is a bit of miscommunication but honestly i totally understand why. It really puts the reader in a position to feel what these characters are going through and not every relationship is sunshine and rainbows. Go read this book! IT’S RACE WEEK BABY. So because of that, I binge-read this high-stakes, plot-driven book that blended my two loves -a great romance story and Formula One, that actually felt like the author knew what they were talking about. This is such a little gem of a book that had me falling in love with its characters.

I originally read this series' first book last year and wanted to come around to read this one too. Back then, it wasn't even released yet, wow. Well anyway, I watched F1 The Movie a few days ago, FINALLY, and here I am. Also on my first rewatch of it too, btw, which is not something common for me. So, this movie is GOOD. And, still high on that feeling, I had to read this book. And it was also so good.


Great, real chemistry with an authentic setting.
Not your typical racing romance in the best ways.


The 3rd person dual-POV and the overall writing were good, and so was the pacing, the setting, and the characters, which felt fleshed-out and real. Overall, just like Fast & Reckless, Kiss & Collide was a very authentic read for me. You know, like someone I don’t know very well, but would sit at the same table with, talking for hours because they seem and then also turn out to be just that likeable.

Both Violet and Chase were people on their own with their own stories and backgrounds, and seeing them come together and get to know each other better etc. was fun, especially with the chemistry they had, which also felt good. It made sense that these two would become more. You don’t always get that in some other stories, thinking, ”how the heck did these two people come together?” Yeah, not here.
Although I don’t agree with the enemies-to-lovers. They’re enemies if they wanna throw each other off a building or stab them with a knife. Slight dislike and snarky banter isn’t that, period. A lot of this can be rivals-to-lovers, but this wasn’t it either. And considering they started hooking up almost immediately, and got along pretty well pretty soon, I’m even going as far as tagging this friends-to-lovers. Hahaha.
The smut scenes were brief and there was no real foreplay (lol?), but I don’t really mind or care since this isn’t my focus. And I’m kind of picky anyway. If I want smut I like, I’ll go read Claire Kent or smth, lmao.

I really liked Chase as a person, his strong determination and drive, and his correct, loyal personality as a whole. He had such a good heart, loved it. Also, his ”aggressive” driving. YES. But I’m a sucker anyway.
Violet was relatable for my own grumpy ways, but she also had a good head on her shoulders. She was really capable and that was great, she really worked magic. The things she sometimes had to pull out of her ass because of a few stupid people were crazy but enjoyable, lmao. Beneath all that tough-girl no-bullshit persona was also a good heart, and although she had been so hurt before (relate), seeing her get out of that shell to pursue things with Chase was good.

The last few racing scenes really made me feel the elation, the desperation, the determination of watching a race. Or the F1 Movie lol, but YOU KNOW. YK. I LOVE racing books that include the racing and not just the setting. I want more than that and love it when I get that.

The epilogue was cute and showed how both of them worked this out in their own way, for themselves, in their own time. As I said, cute.

Also, if someone doesn’t believe in you, fuck them (I mean, off lol) and then do it anyway. And if you wanna stick it to them a little, prove them wrong along the way.

Kiss & Collide is the second installment in Amanda Weaver’s Racing Hearts series. This series has become a favorite since picking up the first book, Fast and Reckless, last year. I haven’t read many Formula One Romance series in the last several years, but thanks to Amanda Weaver, I need to read more of them. I especially need to go back to watching the races since I used to when I was much younger. I loved how Amanda Weaver not only had a romantic storyline that was the main focus of this book, but also included the moments of the MMC driving in races and what he was feeling at the time. I felt like I was there with Chase while he was racing, especially since he was finally living his dream of being an F1 driver.

Let’s focus on the main characters, though, and how Violet and Chase, who were enemies at first, become so much more when they are forced to work together. Chase has moved from F2 to F1 and is now working with Pinnacle, and the one person he never expects to run into is Violet Harper. The woman he hasn’t stopped thinking about since their ONS. Violet doesn’t do relationships and has no time for a man like Chase, but unfortunately, he’s not someone who gives up easily. The more they work together, the more fireworks fly between the two, but they keep it secret and casual at first. The back and forth that happens between Chase and Violet is not an easy story to read, especially when you want to go through the book and talk some sense into one of the characters the whole time. I’m talking about you, Violet?

This book put me through the wringer. There were times I had to set the book down and go back to it due to a certain character’s actions. There was a lot of: What are you doing? Go get that young man, dang it? He loves you, can’t you see it? Yeah, that’s what I kept saying the whole time reading Violet and Chase’s story. I understood why Violet was hesitant to give her heart over, though with her past relationship she had with a rockstar, who ends up showing up several times. Then, there is the fact that Violet is trying to push Chase away by doing something crazy, in my opinion. Chase, though, was determined when it came to Violet and wasn’t willing to give up on her, even though at times I felt he should just step back a bit with how she was treating him. I loved his character and knew right away at the beginning, he was going to be the MMC that was hard to forget. It was frustrating at times, reminding me of the soap operas I used to watch with my mom when I was younger, which were just too addicting to turn away from. You needed to know if the characters would finally get together. It takes a bit, but it’s worth it in the end, especially with the drama that happens that involves Pinnacle, too.

Seriously, Amanda Weaver, you know how to make my heart race when I read the Racing Hearts series. It’s ironic since the series is a Formula One Racing Romance. Kiss & Collide to me is a high-stakes, fast-paced, emotional roller coaster ride that brings the steam, angst, and so much more when I was reading it. Overall, a great installment in the series, and I give it 4.5 stars. I really hope we get another book in the series because I need more Formula One Racing Romance books in my life.

First off, a huge thank you to Amanda Weaver and her team for giving me and The Paddock Girls Podcast the chance to read this ARC before it hit shelves! We’ll be chatting about it more in our review episode next week, but here’s my take.

In this second installment of the Racing Hearts series, we follow Violet Harper, formerly at Lennox Motorsport and now the new Head of PR at Pinnacle. And honestly? The way Violet talked her way into this role was just iconic. From page one, she’s intelligent, resourceful, and completely unafraid to handle the circus that is F1 PR. Her friendship with Mira, Lennox’s TP’s daughter and assistant, is pure badass-women-supporting-badass-women energy, and I loved every scene they shared.

Pinnacle itself to me feels like the Haas of this fictional F1 grid. Last for the past five years, but the twist is they’ve recently been sold to American team owner Carter Hammond. We’ve got Reece Hammond, Carter’s son and new TP (also the “problem child” of the family); Oscar Davis, the outdated and out-of-touch CTO; Rabia Dar, the associate design engineer who takes over after Oscar’s exit (we love a woman in a top role); and Leon Franklin, the Head of Engineering.

Enter Chase Navarro, the 25-year-old, "hot-as-hell" F2 driver, reserve for not just Pinnacle but two other teams, and someone who immediately clocked when Oscar crosses the line. What starts as a friends-with-benefits situation between Violet and Chase turns into something more, and while their chemistry is undeniable, I found myself wanting just a bit more yearning from Chase’s side.

Where the book worked for me: the banter, the behind-the-scenes F1 atmosphere. Where I wanted more: the drama!! Especially with the fake PR relationship subplot between Chase and Madison, an actress, it wrapped up so quickly, I expected more scandal and fallout.

As an F1 fan, I also noticed the racing schedule seemed off, and I wanted more on-track moments. But for readers where technical details are less of a concern, this won’t be an issue. Ultimately, Kiss & Collide is a cute, fluffy sports romance, a perfect palate cleanser. If you’re usually in the fantasy or dark romance lane like I am, you know that sometimes you need something light and easy, and Kiss & Collide could be just that for you.

Fast paced and sexy F1 work place romance! 3.5

Violet has just taken a big gamble by stepping in to a new role as head of PR for a bottom ranking F1 team, Cut throat and vicious, she isn't looking for love or for anyone or anything to stand in her way of her career. But when a steamy one night stand, Chase Navarro steps up into the 2nd seat of the F1 team she manages, it might be harder to keep it at one time only! Chase is nothing if not determined. You don't make it to the highest level of motor sport without taking big risks! The only thing he has his eye on is the Track and Violet, but with his natural charisma and charm, the camera loves him, forcing all eyes on Chase. But can he get the things he truly wants while being forced into the spotlight?

Thoughts and Spoilers:

WOW! This book was HOT! I didn't realize this was the second book in a series while reading and definitely wasn't lost at all, so it can easily be read as a standalone!

Violet is ruthless, cutthroat and corporate. Think Sandra Bullock in The Proposal! BUT she has a massive heart! She steps into a team with a big vision of increasing the teams popularity and media presence, all while dealing with a stereotypical frat bro of a boss who knows NOTHING about F1. Constantly dodging PR disasters while making some HUGE changes for the team! Keeping people at a distance because she's terrified of getting hurt again. As a reader it can be frustrating especially with dual POV because we see how crazy down bad Chase is, and she won't let him in and constantly tries to push him away even when we know it's not what she truly wants. UGH it was just done so well! Like I wanted to throw the book across the room but I also can relate to alot of Violets inner monologue!

Chase? Delicious. I'm always such a sucker for a dynamic like this, where he falls first and tries to be patient with the FMC. It was an interesting choice to see him struggle with what he wanted personally vs what was good for his career and growth. The celebrity fake dating, literally set up by Violet?!? MESSYYYYY but I loved it!

I think one of my biggest struggles with this, is that it was just a bit repetitive? The hookups to instant wall up flip flop that Violet put up. But I think it just aided in loving Chase and his patience but also the way he challenged her too. Also I'm an avid F1 girly and I feel like it was just enough F1 to feed the fans, but not too much that people with no F1 knowledge would be lost!

Quick Thoughts:
After reading a few of not my favorite F1 romances Kiss & Collide was what I was looking for. It’s definitely a lust forward romance with their relationship starting as a one night stand and turning into regular hookups.

I think this book has a fair amount of racing and behind the scenes of F1 represented. I think the authors husband is an F1 reporter and it shows that she wanted to showcase the drama of the sport. In fact there was a moment in the book that gave the same energy of Niko Hulkenberg’s recent win. The descriptions of Chase’s hair made me think of Carlos Sainz and I can’t fault Amanda Weaver for that!

The romance is definitely the focus of the novel but there is also a plot. Violet Harper is the new head of PR and on day one finds out the team is under new management. In an effort to help turn the team around and save her job Violet works to raise the profile of the new driver (Chase Navarro) while avoiding PR disasters caused by the new team principal.

Also a good pick for people who like short chapters!

I enjoyed that the book takes place over the course of the season but wish it included more exploration of the cities (like Fast & Reckless) instead of their hotel rooms.

Lights, motors, action! We are back with book 2 in the Racing Hearts series. PS -yes I know that intro was corny, come at me 😘I’ve been on a Formula One kick what can I say.

Anyway Kiss & Collide was a lot of fun to read. Not as good as the first book in the series but still an easy read with a light-hearted romance.

Now I will mention if you are new to Formula One I wouldn’t start with this romcom series. I’d say start with Lauren Asher’s series. My reasoning Amanda Weaver goes into much more technical depth to the Formula One racing world. And I know some may not like that. I for one found it fascinating and felt so much more authentic.

My only big complaint goes towards Violet. I understand she has a mean “ice queen” persona but that doesn’t mean take it out on poor Chase. Now before y’all come for me I understand her struggles and insecurities. But I need her to put on her big girl pants and work through it. The girl is literally tough as nails in a business setting but using communication in a love relationship setting hard struggle. Just didn’t make sense at times. And her decision making for the third act breakup infuriating. Now she does redeem herself but it took her way too long to get there.

Chase on the other hand. I loved him he is my golden retriever sweetheart and I wish he was real. I love a man that wears on his sleeve and his commitment to Violet was perfection. I also loved that we got to see cameos from Will & Mira. I loved seeing updates into their lives and offering great support to our main characters here.

Overall, I had a blast reading this and I throughly recommend it. Thanks again to Zando and NetGalley for the ARC.

When Violet finally levels up to being the head of PR for Pinnacle racing, she's ecstatic, even if the team is dead last in Formula 1 standings, and even if the day she starts she finds out that the team has been sold to an American who's placed his screw up son in the role of Team Principal; she's willing to make it all work. But then she finds out that the team has hired a new driver, Chase, who Violet spent one memorable night with in Monaco. But Violet doesn't do strings; she's a one and done girl. Except that she and Chase can't seem to keep their hands off each other. As Violet works to up Chase's profile in Formula 1, it may require her to push him away (into a fake dating situation?) even if she's falling for him.

KISS AND COLLIDE fell a bit into the sophomore slump. While the plot continued to do a good job of peeking behind the curtain of how Formula 1 racing works and the two main characters were each sufficiently flawed, the spicy sex scenes felt rote and toned down, and perhaps this is a matter of reading an ARC that hasn't been through final copyediting, but the POV shifts felt clunky and at times it felt like the narration was in both characters' heads at the same time, which was disorienting. This was still a solid romcom set in the world of Formula 1. For anyone who enjoyed Weaver's previous book, this one is worth giving a shot.

PR wiz Violet and then F2 driver Chase had a one night stand in Monaco months ago. Upon starting a new job at the failing F1 team Pinnacle there is a shakeup in the driver lineup and Chase is promoted from reserve driver to the F1 team. Violet and Chase are now working closely together to get Chase, and by extension Pinnacle, sponsors. The pair agree to non-committal hookups that of course leads to feelings, made more complicated by Violet’s ex popping up and Chase needing to enter a PR relationship with a Hollywood starlet. On top of this, the F1 team’s position is tenuous at best as they are still struggling to get points let alone a win.

I love F1 but have found the romances set in the world to be hit and miss. This is a series that works for me and I’ve now enjoyed both books in the series. I love that the characters feel like real people and not just stand-ins for real drivers (there’s so many that are blatant self-insert fanfic). I also appreciate that the book doesn’t try to just be each race weekend. It actually shows the characters working and doing things outside the race weekend festivities so we can actually see them grow as characters and in their relationship. I also really appreciated that the author didn’t take the easy way out for a externally forced third-act breakup, rather the pair’s falling out fell true to the characters and their backstories. I would happily read a third book in this series.

Violet left being an assistant a prize winning team to running the PR ship at Pinnacle, a team currently last on the grid. What Violet wasn't expecting her first day, was that Pinnacle was a sinking ship. Under new and inexperienced management, Violet had bit off more than she could chew and that was only further confirmed when her past one night stand, Chase Navarro, became her teams shiny new star.

Chase had be racing in F2 and fighting for his spot when he got the call to be moved up to F1, racing for Pinnacle. All his dreams came true with one phone call, especially when he would get to work with the one night stand that hadn't left his mind.

Both have to work endlessly to bring Pinnacle up from last on the gird to a respectable spot. At times their characters felt a little one dimensional and some sort of conflict was needed in order to really get anything out of them.

A lot happened in this book between the selling of teams, Violet being pulled in many directions, Chase being forced into a PR relationship to better the team, etc. I found it a little overwhelming at time to keep up with what was happening, but I was also never sure where the story would go. The ending felt a little bit rushed and I was thrown off by the pacing, but overall it had the ending I wanted.

Kiss and Collide is the second book in the Racing Heart series by Amanda Weaver, and I found it even more fun than the first! F1 romance isn’t a subgenre I’m super familiar with, but this one definitely had the right vibe.

Violet, the FMC, is a PR manager for a racing team, and she is not to be messed with. She’s fierce, confident, and takes charge in every scene she’s in. After a one-night stand with Chase, the team’s new driver, the two agree to a friends-with-benefits situation... and we all know how that goes.

Chase was absolutely adorable. His sunshine personality perfectly balanced Violet’s grumpy nature, which is one of my favorite tropes. When the MMC is the sunshine in the dynamic, I can’t help but smile. His golden retriever energy stood out, and honestly, he was my favorite character in the book.

Even as someone who isn’t well-versed in F1 racing, I connected with this story more than the first because Weaver leaned a bit more into the romance this time around. That said, the plot is still solid and well told, adding depth to the relationship development.

If you enjoy romance with an F1 backdrop, a sweet MMC who falls first, light enemies-to-lovers tension, and a friends-with-benefits dynamic that turns into an "it’s always been you" moment, this one is for you.

Fast & Reckless was one of my first Formula 1 books and Amanda turned me into a fan so I couldn’t wait for Kiss and Collide! I loved Violet in the first book and was so excited for her to get her own book.

Reading this book was such an immersive experience. I felt so much while reading it. The excitement of race days, the painful hope as they really started to build something at Pinnacle, not to mention the passion, confusion and indication when it came to Chase and Violet.

I’m not afraid to admit that while fake dating arrangement Chase had with actress to boost his visibility with sponsors left me feeling anxious and uncountable right alongside Violet. But girlfriend did it to herself.

I loved Violet and understood why she was so guarded and prickly. I loved Chase so much for not letting her chase him away and instead seeing how strong, brave, and determined she was. Violet was so capable it was scary and I loved it.

Chase was such a sweetheart it was impossible not to love him. He was the perfect partner to Violet.

I’m not sure where this series is going next but I really hope Imogene gets a book! Her character growth from panicked crying assistant to competent baddie was amazing.

𝐀𝐬 Chase worked hard to prove himself at the Grand Prix competition, Violet's PR skills helped bring attention to his talent. I loved that Violet never stopped believing in his skills; they formed a great team.

I enjoyed the dual narration by 𝐒𝐮𝐤𝐢 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 and 𝐉𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐲𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐞. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 made it easy to follow along with the book. Overall, "Kiss & Collide" is a must-read for fans of F1 romance and can be enjoyed as a standalone or as part of the Racing Hearts series.

Iff you watched the F1 movie and were left wanting more....this might be the book for you!

Kiss & Collide follows the story of Chase, Violet and Pinnacle racing. Chase is an F2 driver who is about to have his chance on the f1 circuit. Violet is about to make a name for herself in the world of f1 as a PR superstar. And Pinnacle is a failing f1 team that's stuck at the end of the grid and holding on for dear life at the hands of the worst team principle a daddy's money can buy.

Through out the story we follow not only the romance that is budding between the want to be enemies (well, Violet thinks Chase is an enemy), but we also get to see the journey the team makes through out the story. AND we get to see three kick ass women in motorsports get the deal of a lifetime because they worked hard, showed results, and deserved the chance at the table.

I am in love with this book. The steam and romance was just so well crafted. Each character came to the relationship with their own baggage which made the story juicy.

I know this one isn't out yet....but when do we get the next story in Amanda Weaver's f1 world!

Thank you NetGalley and Zando for the advance copy of this book. After reading the first one I was so excited to jump in and read Violets story.
Of course we met Violet our FMC in the first book and got a brief glimpse of Chase our MMC but did really get to know him I did really enjoy this book however it lacked some originality and depth. I feel like from the start even the chapters were very cut and paste we had an event or little personal scene then boom to a hotel room and this continued for about 50% of the book then we started getting a little depth and past history but really not a lot it was just thrown in there to make the characters have a disconnect and reconnect. I am aware that this is the way they start their relationship with a fun one night stand but continuing throughout the book with the "no strings" hook ups, which is similar in its own way to the first story line left us with no real attachment to the characters. In the end I really did enjoy Violets character she was real and relatable and I will continue with any other books that may come out in this series when I want just a spicy fun F1 romance.

Violet is a slick PR girlie who takes leap of faith to what could be the job of her dreams. Chase is a journeyman race car driving studmuffin finally with a chance to drive in Formula One. While she works to increase his profile by capitalising on his attractiveness and approachableness there are fires to put out within the floundering team. PR dream or nightmare? Throughout, these two hotties are hooking up and definitely NOT catching feelings for each other.

Kiss & Collide isn't badly written but, it was lacking for me. I didn't feel for these characters. The race HQ and race days didn't convey the excitement or pop off the page. The "Situation skip", über convenient "fixes" and om/ow drama weren't my cup of tea.
I wonder if you read the first book in the series if you would be more forgiving?

DNF at 40% after too many eye rolls and 'what the?' moments.

I really enjoy Amanda Weaver’s writing, and Kiss and Collide was another strong entry in her Formula One romance series. If you know me, you know I’m very particular about F1 romances. It’s not an easy sport to weave into a love story - getting the technical side right is crucial to make it feel authentic in a way that other sports romances don’t require. Amanda Weaver clearly does her homework and is one of the few authors who can truly do Formula One justice.

That said, I did struggle with this one more than with her previous book, Fast and Reckless. Violet’s influence as marketing director felt a bit unrealistic, and I found it hard to believe that such careless, wealthy backers could successfully run an F1 team. I also missed some of the racing focus; this story leaned more toward Violet than Chase, and it felt like there was less track action compared to the first book, which was a bit of a letdown for me.

All that being said, it’s still a very good romance, and Amanda Weaver’s talent for balancing technical detail with heartfelt relationships shines through.

First I'd like to thank Amanda for allowing me and the rest of the girls at The Paddock Girls Podcast for this ARC Read (review episode coming out next week!). I'm very grateful for the opportunity to read this before it hit shelves :)

Now in this second book of the Racing Hearts series we follow Violet, the badass PR who decide to switch teams to be head of PR for what felt to me like the Haas of this series. We meet Chase Navarro, F2 driver randomly promoted to F1 driver. A friends with benefits turns into they both fall hard.

While I found this book to be enjoyable, I felt like I wanted more from the book. I wish I saw more yearning from Chase (maybe there was and I didn't notice?), and just a bit more drama. Especially with Chase being in a fake PR relationship with the one actress. Like I would've liked more drama and scandal around that and it didn't happen. It was just like okay the relationship is over bye. And don't get me started on Ian. I couldn't stand the guy and felt like his character was a bit pointless tbh.

Again, this is a cute fluff read, especially as a hardcore fantasy reader. A nice break from the world of make believe. But as an F1 fan, the racing schedule also threw me off a bit. I think readers who aren't too into the sport will enjoy it. As I wish there was more on track action.

Kiss and Collide was an enjoyable F1 romance that also shows the goings on behind the scenes. I enjoyed reading about F1, team dynamics and the drama surrounding it.

Violet and Chase had chemistry from the onset. The physical side was instant. However, their relationship was more of a slow burn.

Violet has a lot of past trauma that she brought into the relationship. She appears to be cold and ruthless, but she has just put barriers up to protect herself. Chase, on the other hand, is sweet, lovable and patient.

I loved Chase and Violet together. They complimented one another and brought out the best in each other.

This may be due to me reading an ARC copy, but I did find the POV switching throughout chapters without clear breaks to show it was switching, a bit disorientating.

If you enjoy a sports romance, fake dating, he falls first, then you will enjoy Kiss and Collide.

As we all know i love an f1 romance, i also love the black cat PR fmc x golden retriever F1 Driver mmc trope. However, it felt as though the back and forth of the relationship/hookups felt like it dragged on. Chase was so down bad for her but Violet was so focused on her career (VALID and RELATABLE) that she refused to give into her own feelings. The wall she would put up between them just to allow him back in was devastating but also shows how much Chase really cared because he really stuck with her through all the back and forth😭. I will say this book was written in 3rd person which can sometimes be more difficult for me to follow and this was one of those times…

From an F1 fan pov this book had a lot of accurate information and themes which i always appreciate when reading this subgenre!!

All in all a pretty decent f1 romance, i just think the 3rd person narration kind of took me out of it :/.
