Biography
One Fan at a Time

Annette is an award-winning author, published by Affinity Rainbow Publications, who lives in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with her wife and their five furry kids. With over thirty published novels, four Lesfic Bard finalist awards, two Lesfic Bard Awards, and one Goldie Award for her fourth novel, Locked Inside, she finally feels like a real author. Annette is as much a reader as a writer and always looking for the next lesfic novel to cue up. She came up with the One Fan at a Time tagline because it rolled off the tongue much better than One Reader at a Time. After pondering who she was at her core, it was all about connecting to each reader on a personal level. She would be the first to admit she doesn't do well with the masses. If someone picks up her book and it touches them she believes she has achieved what she wants with her writing by reaching each reader. It is who she is at her core. Wow!

Feeling disconnected and not knowing why she has this feeling prevents her from having meaningful relationships. When the right woman comes along and helps her to put the bits and pieces together, everything becomes more complete and understandable. But what a discovery! I was hooked from the start and quickly drawn in to the story. As always, it was well written and with an unpredictable plot. Highly recommended.

Very moving and emotional

Vanna and Trey meet while Vanna is on adventure across the country to start her life somewhere she hopes she might feel a part of something more than she does at home. As Vanna learns about herself, her life, and why she has always felt as if she hasn’t belonged, she might just be finding that place with Trey, who just couldn’t get Vanna out of her system.

I loved this so much! It was moving, deeply emotional, and such a wonderful story even though it was dealing with such sensitive topics. I really felt a connection with Vanna, it was easy to be empathic with everything she was feeling and then later discovering and I am just so glad she had the support she needed in Trey. The revelations were completely unexpected, and once revealed you just understood everything Vanna had been experiencing in her life.

As usual, Annette has delivered a story that is different. All handled with the upmost care, but completely imaginative and something different. It is a style I have come to know and love from Annette, and I love how the stories always touch on something that isn’t the norm. There is a story for everyone, vast representation, and most importantly an opportunity to learn about someone who has very unique experiences that are probably more common than we think.

I really hope Vanna and Trey will have future stories. They were just destined to meet and even though Vanna had much to work through, they were fantastic together. Trey was completely selfless in wanting to support Vanna, but in need of that emotional connection herself, and there was no one better for her that Vanna. Trey was a breath of fresh air, a little lightness in Vanna’s journey and I just loved that balance. It was a beautifully written story that I can’t recommend enough.

A lifetime of secrets can put up wall that are hard to explain.

Vanna has grown up feeling like she was different from everyone else. The huge scar on her body and the secrets around why brought only more distance. After college she decided to move away frome the secrets and those desperate to keep them. She meets Trey along the way to Arizona and though surprised by the spark she feels hasn't question her sexuality, yet. Once at the new job she meets Nino and the question takes front and center. The journey Vanna takes is full of twists, sadness and some anger. I spent most of the chapters guessing the secret. I did not even come close. The author brilliantly navigates this delicate issue and all the feelings for it. The understanding and emotions were hard at times and yes tears. The courage Vanna had and the drive/determination that Trey had made this story powerful. I was wrapped up in the character from the prolonged and I loved the tension of what the secret was so much. Trey and Vanna's Grandma brought such insight and fun to the story. I really enjoyed this read as the journey unfolded. I loved all the familial interactions and how it made the healing so beautiful for some of the characters. Bravo for another great story.

captivating … riveting … compelling … engrossing !!!

Oh my Goddess, I love this author!
This is a brilliantly written story of painful secrets, friends to lovers, and a surprise family. Trey is a beautiful soul who lives unconditionally. Vanna is a tortured soul who finally discovers the family’s “secret” and learns who she truly is. Grandmom’s character was delicious. I especially loved the rainbow butterfly!!! An incredible and beautiful addition to Vanna’s journey. A powerful read. I enthusiastically and unequivocally and heartily recommend this and any other works by Annette Mori. She is one of my favorite authors. Read her stuff. It’s a journey to be reckoned with. Thank you
Peace
