How to Undo the Sh!t the Modern World Does to Us: A Potty Mouth's Guide to Health and Happiness

Rate this book
To thrive in this world we must learn to honour what it is to be human

The modern world is evolving at an unrelenting pace. With that pace comes increasing demands on our time and attention. Yes, technology has made our lives more convenient and we are living longer, but are we thriving, are we healthy, and are we happy?

Many people are living in pain, both emotional and physical. Movement capacity is shrinking, trapping us inside our own bodies. Sleep deprivation is considered normal, as is low energy. And our ability to focus is dwindling.

As human beings, we have some innate physiological and psychological needs. They are part of what makes us human. Those needs must be met, despite the demands of modern living.

Gareth teaches you how to honour what it is to be human so that you can thrive in this modern world.

Just some of the things you will learn in this

How our well-being is linked to our environment How our body clock is about more than just sleep and how to look after it How are physiology and psychology are not really separate and how take advantage of that How to find out exactly what foods your body functions best on This book is a raw, no bullsh!t approach that is written with humour and ultimately love.

A short but very accessible introduction to topics such as mindfulness, meditation and health in the modern world. I enjoyed the authors voice and found him relatable but would have liked more in depth information. Overall for me it was a quick summary of topics I already knew about rather than a source of new information.

I gave this four stars rather than five as its a little short but it is otherwise a great read, i love the way its worded and i love how he sees things , I already feel great just from reading it :)

Great read

Great book. A quick and easy read for some tips on how to better yourself and those around you. Although not a problem for me, some readers might find the authors frank and foul mouthed style of writing too much.

I was actually surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. There's swearing, and the language is quite colloquial and with lots of little jokes along the way. However, it absolutely hits all the important points, and the arch of the overall message was delivered really well. Great little read!

Eye opening and one of the easiest books I have read based around personal growth! So glad I fell upon this book!
