Get Serious Book, first printed in 2014, and in order to write a professional review I had to reread it again, which was worth it and I’m glad to have this amazing book in my collections.

The Appearance:
I didn’t like the cover design, but this book has a great quality of paper and colorful printing.

Content:
In this book you will learn about the multitude of disease risk factors such as insulin resistance, dyslipidemia, obesity, hypertension (cumulatively known as Metabolic Syndrome), hormonal imbalance, and the role of chronic inflammation in the genesis of disease.

Dr. Osborn described aging as a desease and he says It is the disease of aging. You may be thinking, “aging is not a disease.” Well, if it’s not, why does this non-disease kill 100,000 people per day? that’s really interesting to me and maybe it’s new to you too but remember he’s Anti-Aging Medicine Doctor.

This book also included a lot of information about Cancers, DNA, and as he said: The goal of this book is to educate you the consumer, the patient, and allow you to assume care of your own health. but it has been writen with a lot of specefic and Medical Scientific vocabulary which made it difficualt to understand.

I also have learned about type 3 diabetes which is Alzheimer’s disease, and how to prevent diabetes. this book has 11 chapters and the chapter 8th which is about supplemets is the most informitive part as I’ve read other reader’s reviews in different websites.

Dr. Osborn’s Top Ten Nutritional Supplements: OMEGA-3 FATTY ACIDS, RESVERATROL, GREEN TEA EXTRACT, VITAMIN D3, CURCUMIN, B-COMPLEX, VITAMIN C, VITAMIN E, MAGNESIUM, PROBIOTICS, ASPIRIN, BETA-BLOCKER AND/OR ACE INHIBITOR, STATINS, METFORMIN. he explaines about the history behind each and dosage of supplemnts and the benefits of each of them.

there is money in disease not health.

IT’S ALL ABOUT TESTOSTERONE but how? which supplement?
Doctor Osborn in this book explains about many of daily problems that we all are dealing with, he wrote that one of the reasons that we cannot build muscle is low level of TESTOSTERONE. he explaines the natural way to increase your TESTOSTERONE is resistance training like: the five basic compound movements:
Squat, Bench press, Deadlift, Overhead press and a chin/pull-up or rowing movement.

one the hardest workout that probobly many of us are skipping, is squats and One of the greatest benefits of squat is increasing testosterone level in our body. Dr.Osborn explains each exercise with the correct way of performing.

He explains about TRT and HRT and how sugar is aging us: Consumption of refined sugars not only fosters the genesis of free radicals but also fuels the fire of inflammation. And chronic exposure to excess free radicals (oxidation) and inflammation causes agerelated disease, period.

Overal I personally give 4 star to this book but I still beleive if a book teaches me something new, it deserves 5 star review. I also wrote my review on Amazon, 3ee, Goodreads, LibraryThing and Social Medias such as: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin, Telegram and Google+.

Dr. Osborn is a neurosurgeon who is also built like you would not believe. That said, I approach all fitness/health books with trepidation. This one is good. It’s also extremely complex. Dr. Osborn did not write for the average idiot and he’s clearly talking to people who have some familiarity with the science of metabolism. I also read the Obesity Code and found that the science there also supports and is supported by Dr. Osborn’s research. Obesity is not directly caused by too much fat but my too much insulin. And we have too much insulin because of too many simple carbohydrates and processed fats. As someone who has had insulin resistance, Dr. Osborn is absolutely right. He’s also very honest when it comes down to brass tacks. There is no one perfect solution for all people. But when we apply the science individually, we can see some results and he stresses that.

A straightforward guide to health. This is very cut and dry. There is no fluff. The nutrition section is a must-read. There are many pictures.

One of my favorite sentences is when he talks about Big Pharma: there is money in disease, not health.

His goal is to educate and allow you to learn what best works for you from science. Stop buying the BS that one is genetically fat. That's what the food and drug companies want you to believe. Take back your health in this easy to read book.

I LOVE This Book! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it to anyone who seriously wants to gain one's optional health!

Hard core truth

A no nonsense approach from a neurosurgeon (read: an educated professional) who further invested in additional schooling in functional medicine. He walks and talks his message and protocol. Stop taking advice from people who are not educated or who took a weekend course. Dr O is the real deal.

Great book

Great information for not only experienced athletes but especially for the Layman. I've competed as a powerlifter and bodybuilder, and I still learned and reinforced a multiple amount of things from this book.

There is some very good advice here! A down to earth approach from a medical doctor who is also a fitness expert. The section on dietary supplements was very interesting. This book is not comprehensive but is a solid addition to my healthy lifestyle reading.

The research is there which is why I rated it higher. The problem is the writing, too many different writing styles, as if the author didn't know how he wanted the information presented.

Any person serious about their health and well-being should definitely add this book to their shelf. It is full of noteworthy advice that should be put into practice for a lifetime. If you want to take your health and fitness into your own hands, Dr. Brett Osborn lays the bricks with this text and he explains the current flaws in our current healthcare regime which makes money on disease rather than good health. There is great knowledge and information in this book about proper exercises, proper nutrition, proper supplements to add in, as well as how to deal with blood tests and proper hormone levels inside the body. This book is definitely worth the price and I bet every time you re-read it you could still learn something new.

Excellent. Decided to buy after reading article on Dr. Osborn in the Herald. Very well-written and conversational style. Most of the science is understandable by this non-scientific lawyer. Some of it I had read before and agree with whole-heartedly--e.g., stay away from sugar. Other parts--e.g., on home testing, was new to me and I look forward to exploring further. I am also looking forward to trying out Dr. Osborn's training protocol, which was particularly well explained in the book's appendix.

Note: Goodreads only has the kindle edition; I actually have and strongly recommend the paperback edition which is beautifully laid out.

Great book; lifetime athlete and have trained with weights most of my life; have a Masters in biochemistry; author is spot on; a little more detail on calorie cycling and training diet would be helpful, but otherwise, great job!

Great job! Author cuts through the hype; more info on author's specific calorie cycling and training diet would be helpful!

Average

No real new information in this book. Sound advice to stay healthy. Some parts are pretty technical and if you don't have a medical background may be difficult to understand.
