Wolves of New York: The Complete Series

Rate this book
The complete savage, steamy, pulse-pounding Wolves of New York series is now available in one collection!

Wolf King

Maxim Thorn is a ruthless Alpha, a mobster king who rules his pack with an iron fist.

He’s also my only hope.

As a shifter from the wrong side of the tracks who’s just been rejected by my abusive fated mate, I don’t have a lot of options in this city.

In exchange for one month of protection from my ex and his friends, I promise to give Maxim what he wants—me.

Wolf Pawn

Maxim’s pack is under siege. His enemies will stop at nothing to lay claim to everything he holds dear.

And thanks to an ancient prophecy, half the shifter world believes being mated to me (or my long-lost sister) is the key to unlimited power.

That’s the other thing—the sister I haven’t seen in years?

She’s alive, and out to destroy Maxim.

Wolf Queen

The shifter world is running out of time…and so am I.

Maxim Thorn is a dangerous—even deadly—man who betrayed my trust and the love growing between us. But compared to his brother, Bane, my alpha kingpin is a freaking teddy bear.

It’s looking like there’s no way out when an unlikely ally emerges, promising to help me subvert the dark prophecy that has me in its crosshairs.

All I’ll have to sacrifice is a piece of my soul and the man who would have been my fated mate…

Wolf Mate

Maxim proved he would give his life to defend mine.

I proved I would kill to keep him by my side.

But is the bloody devotion of a united king and queen enough to win this war?

Or will we lose everything we hold dear—our hope, our freedom, and maybe even…each other.

(This is the final book in the series. No cliffhanger.)

🔹 WOLF KING
Wolf King is the first book in the Wolves of New York series by Bella Jacobs. Shifter books aren’t usually my go-to type of book but I have read all of Bella’s books. She has a way of sucking me in and this time it’s with wolves. There are some others as well, of course.

Willow Astor was an independent nerdy badass wolf shifter. She wouldn’t ask for anyone’s help unless she was desperate to keep herself and her family alive. She knew there was only one place to go and that was to his kingdom. He was the top Alpha in New York and the only one to protect her. He was also known as being a ruthless king without a heart so she had to convince him to help her. She now went from one prison to another. Except this king was everything she expected and so much more. Sinfully Alpha and hot as sin. She had one month to get him to trust her or she would be thrown out on her ass...

Maxim Thorn didn’t have time for this little wolf at his doorstep. He didn’t have time for anything but to watch over his pack. Once in awhile hit up a fairy for a good time. She wanted his protection from his enemy but will it be worth the risk of his own pack? He will soon find out.

Maxim and Willow are fire! You can feel the sexual tension in the air between these two. They have secrets, desires, and some kind of connection. One that shouldn’t be. I can’t wait for the next book! Thank God Bella isn’t making us wait long.

Quotes:

Nothing in my personal experience prepared me for the wave of hunger that swept through me as he fisted his hand in my hair and stared down at me like I was a treat he wanted to devour in one bite.

“You’re tougher than you look, little wolf.”

“I love the way you look at me. I love the sound of your voice, so deep I can feel it vibrating against my skin.”

🔹 WOLF PAWN

Wolf Pawn is the second book in the Wolves of New York series by Bella Jacobs. You can not read as standalone. So, go read Wolf King if you haven’t yet! If you are a fan of mafia, shifter, or just darkness then you will love this series.

Maxim has to protect his pack. Any means necessary. Willow says she wants the same but can he trust her? She has only been in his presence for a few days and they have been packed with violence, drama, and trouble. He doesn’t know who is working for him and who is set out to destroy him. Not only that but a prophecy thrown into the mix...

A prophecy that can pin two sisters against each other. Or will it bring them closer together?

Is Willow the key to Maxim’s power? We shall see.

I. Need. Book. Three. Now. I also want to kick some ass. For real though, Willow is a badass and Maxim is intense. Together, they are a bomb ready to explode. They are full of anger, sexual tension, and passion to protect.

Quotes:

This is a much better reflection. This me looks ready to kick ass and take names and maybe toss back a shot of whiskey after. If someone put his big fat hand around her neck, she’d fuck that guy up real quick.

“If library smell was a drug, you’d be wasted by now,” Maxim mutters in faux irritation.

That’s a promise, big bad. And I never break my promises.

🔹 WOLF QUEEN
Wolf Queen is the third book in the Wolves of New York series by Bella Jacobs. You can not read these books as standalone. We were left on an epic cliffhanger with Wolf Pawn so I was excited that we didn’t have to wait long for this one.

Maxim broke them. Broke the trust they were building. In an epic way. In a way she may never forgive. Willow wanted out. She needed out. Except, she goes from one man who betrayed her to a man who could ruin her. A man who wanted what he brother had…to be Alpha. To be king of all sides. Human Side included. And he needed her. And he had her.

Maxim and Willow have a complicated, intense, and beautiful relationship all at the same time. Willow didn’t want to need him. She didn’t want to want him. But, right now, they needed to each other to go up against Bane. He took Willow and it was time for them to kick some ass and take names to save his pack and everyone else. It was about them right now. It was about survival. Will their connection be enough?

This series is full of action, intensity, and sexiness. I read each book in one sitting and I need Wolf Mate now!

Quotes:

“Can we stop for beef jerky and grape sodas, already? Only a bunch of real dicks would take people on a road trip without snacks.”

I realize I’m thinking like a queen—and a mad one, at that, considering my current situation—but I don’t care.

“I’m going to kill him. When it’s time, I want to do it. I call dibs.”

🔹 WOLF MATE
Wolf Mate is the fourth and final book in the Wolves of New York City series by Lili Valente. You can not read these books as standalones. They follow one couple who have a complicated and intense relationship.

Maxim and Willow are now working on the same side once again. The trust is there and they have one goal. To save his pack and the future of the world. With Diana still with the enemy, they need to figure out a way to get her out of the way of danger while figuring out how to make Bane and Kelley surrender. It’s all on their shoulders. First, they need to decide on who they can and can not trust. Can they overcome all of their obstacles?

I can’t say any more than that. I will say that I love this couple and Diana! There were some unexpected twists that I am obsessed with. It was awesome to have many POVs in this story and I am sooo hoping there will be a spin-off.

Quotes:

“Wake up, little wolf,” I whisper, brushing her hair from her cheek. “Time to save the world.”

“Now, how do we do the whole ‘getting ready to fight the bad guys’ thing? Are we going to need snacks? Pep talks? Maybe a montage?”

He’s starved for me, for touch, for release, and he’s right—there’s no turning back now.

Review for books 1-4
This is the final book for Maxim and Willow (No cliffhanger as far as the story goes) but you can read on to see what happens with Diana and Axe in Lost Queen their story was left unfinished along with some story related questions

Spice 3-4 Slow burn (until book 2)
More dirty talk than act disceptations (bold explicit dirty talk)
Some Intimate scenes are left to the reader’s imagination but the scenes with the reader present are explicit
plot to steam worked out well not being present for every scene

Breeding and pregnancy plays a big part in story

FMC with rare gift saving the world

Choice were made here, and I don’t know if I can be on board with this book.

I will be the first to admit that I am sucker for a good anti-hero or morally gray MMC, but that is not what this is. I think the author attempted to write a story where the heroine could find her inner strength and save herself and her people (a la doomsday prophecy), but this comes off as misogynistic. Sooooo misogynistic that the entire series missed its mark.

First, the MMC has some major trust and attachment issues, and not in a sexy way, that require professional help. 🚩🚩🚩
Instead of glorifying the FMCs resilience and ability to escape and survive some pretty shitty situations, the MMC labels her as conniving because her independence threatens his control and manliness 🙄🙄🙄🚩🚩🚩
Then, in a bid to enact the prophesy, the MMC drugs the FMCS drink to get her pregnant, then he rationalizes his choices by saying the rape was justified because he did it to save his people.🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️ 🚩🚩🚩

And look…I’m not here to kink shame; I realize there is a whole market for sexy non con romance. But those books at least lean into the whole non con fantasy. This book tries to sell you a whole dystopian shifter book where good overcomes evil while romanticizing abuse, physical violence, and rape. By the third act, the MMC has ventured so far off from morally gray that he’s no longer likeable.

In summary, this book is triggering in all the wrong ways. It’s neither sexy nor romantic. I hate (re: HATE) the MMC and the way this author portrays men.

I loved Maxim and Willow’s fated mates, wolf pack shifter romance with a side of mystery and crazy prophecy. This series is well written, with witty dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and an engaging storyline. It has a little bit of everything - sweet moments, fan your face steam, exciting action, danger, evil actors, henchmen, strong friendships, painful pasts, mystery, evil actors, plot twists, imperfect characters, mystical prophecies, big feels and even a few chuckles.

The story starts off exciting and the intensity never lets up. When it begins, it is mid-action with Willow, a disgraced wolf shifter, running for her life. She is trying to escape the Parallel World to the Human World through a magic portal. Maxim is the Alpha of the pack that finds her and offers her sanctuary in the human world. There is instant heat and connection when Maxim and Willow meet but it’s not clear where that will lead - salvation or destruction. As the story progresses, they learn more about each other and the prophecy while their friction and intense feelings escalate. To get to their HEA, they’ll just need to save their pack and the world all while falling in love. It’s an exciting and epic dark fantasy.

Have to keep my eyes peeled for the release of Diana's story.

This was an easy read. I bought the series box set on audible, and both female and male narrators did a great job bringing the characters to life.

This series is along the fated mates trope, and includes a morally grey main male character. The main female character is a bit cheesy. Series progresses fairly quickly. It was good escapism and incorporated some funny scenes that had me chuckling. It's a bit of a stretch, plot-wise, for me... fmc waffly, prophecy, zombie, must-have-your-baby, I-love-you-even-though-you-abused-me, and only-known-each-other-for-a-week kind of thing.

The MMC did NOT have my blessing at first as the FMC clearly needed help and had been put through some truly horrible situations. The series as a whole, was a great read and kept me binging till the very end. Speaking of ends...the cliffhanger...It's driving me crazy with some many questions left unanswered.

I really enjoyed this series. Strong main and secondary characters, great entertainment.
I will definitely be on the look out for Maxim's baby sister and Axe's book.
This was absolutely worth the effort.
