Sophie is desperate to stitch her life back together.
Quirky. Derailed. Unhinged. Untamed. Awkward. And ultimately hanging on by a thread after a life-changing car crash changes the direction of her life as she knew it. Navigating losing love, death, and finding her place in the world, she sets out on a journey to fall back in love with life.
Between sewing sarcastic cross-stitches, threads of sexual tension, and a rift of spiritual revelations, Sophie finds herself forming new friendships, traveling new lands, and living in limbo between worlds. Foreign worlds. Haunted by her past. And stuck in her present. Ugh, life? What a dick sometimes, am I right?
Enter Chris, the seductive Australian backpacker who just might help her come back to the reality of now. After a string of fateful meetings, Sophie is forced to confront the fabric of her life. Stay tangled up in the past? Or cut herself free for a future?
Guilt. Lust. Grief. Longing. Welcome to Sophie’s awkward world, and how it unraveled.

Coffee is one of my gods. I am spiritual. An ex-back packer. Have a jarring sarcastic dry-wit, and like to write about anything self-discovery.
I have been lucky enough to work with the Simon and Schuster Publishing, New York team on two non-fiction books. And am now trying my hand at Indie Publishing fiction books. You know, because the world's a bit of a dick right now and everyone could use some book escapism. Me included. Some personal stuff people find interesting about me... I am a born and breed New Zealander. I'm adopted. My mother died when I was age 15 of Cancer which changed the course of my life. I studied Creative Writing and International Business in Toronto, Canada. I've traveled most of the globe while back-packing. I'm a no BS, women-of-my-word, get-shit-done kinda gal aka a write-a-holic. Hence, the coffee.
Emma, or whoever runs her social media, chose to steal pictures from bookstagrammers without telling them... and then EDIT THIS BOOK IN. How freaking weird is that??
And then when the person who TOOK THE PHOTOS asked for credit (I would have asked for it to be taken down, because that's so disrespectful and weird), they blocked her. And blocked me, and other people who questioned this. And then turned off comments!
An easy read. Loved how relatable Sophie was, and the slow burn tension of her relationship with Chris unfolding. Five stars, great rom-com read for everyday escapism.
A fun read while waiting in doctors’ offices but nothing earth shattering. Eat, pray, love but too focused on finding another person versus finding yourself.
