Absolutely precious book going through all the sweet interactions between Mama and Baby in a day, from "Mama cuddle" in the morning to "Mama read" before bed. Lovely illustrations in a soft tones of a rich color palette and gently curving lines make for illustrations that really capture the love between the two, while introducing lots of great verbs and nouns in the rhyming lines that are often just two words per page; Mama nose, Mama sing, etc.
I received an ARC of this book for my honest opinion.
This sweet, simple book is all about a mother’s love for their baby. Both the illustrations and text are straightforward but also a wonderful way to tell your baby you love them and perhaps help them learn to read the words on their own as they grow. A great book for new babies and moms.
I adore Emma Straub, but it's the illustrations by Stevie Lewis that shine in this lovely little book. A sweet read for very young ones with simple, 2-3 word rhymes. I read a digital ARC, so I'm unsure of the format, but would love to see this released as a board book.
Cute rhyming text that is short and simple about mama doing all kinds of things for and with her baby. Cute illustrations and perfect for reading to a baby/toddler. Parents can copy what the mama does in the book as they read. Would be cute for toddler ST as well.
The audience for this book is a bit younger than I'm used to. I appreciate it but it didn't wow me. The illustrations are beautiful and the writing is simple. It gives off a warm, inviting feeling. I can definitely see it being a good bedtime story for young kids.
This is a great book to read to really little babies because you can mimic the actions in this book. The mama and baby spend a day together and we look at all the activities they do.
Obviously geared towards parents with infants, this book is limited in vocabulary. Two or three words on each page describe the actions of the mother/child.
