Consumed with rage after a family tragedy, Wade Freeman embarks on a perilous journey into the Canadian wilderness to hunt down a sabertooth tiger while his wife and son must survive the harsh conditions of their new home in a remote rural community of criminals called New Haven.
Meanwhile miles away, terror abounds when a paleontology team working out of the abandoned North Star Weather Station high in the mountain peaks is stalked by a pack of apex predators thought to be long extinct until now...
Creatures that have escaped from an isolated top-secret wildlife preserve, spawned from an experimental facility known as The Cenozoic Project that has been creating bio-engineered prehistoric mammals for the past 30 years... Deep in the Wild
Pretty good ending for a great story. Will have to keep an eye on this author. Story stimulates the imagination and I wonder if such animals exist somewhere. Would be fun to search.
This is the second book in this series. Now some people when reading this book will not like how it seems to jump from situation to another. They may even find the foreshadowing a bit on the heavy side. However I liked this story for those reasons. The jumping around seemed to make the story move along at a fair pace and sometimes you just want that in a story. As to the foreshadowing well if you have read enough you kind of notice things like that a bit quicker. I have so far liked the characters in this book and the first one, but there are some I would like to see get eaten by some creature. I do have one problem with the doctors at the Cenozoic Project and that is not so much the animals they are creating, but it is the early humans they are creating. They need to step back and think more about what they are doing. How will the story end? I can't say because I have one more book to read and then I will know.m
This book was so much more than I expected from the title. T found the storyline was so diverse but easy to follow . I truly enjoyed the aspect of recreating the extinct mammals as it gave a different picture and feeling for these creatures. I look forward to reading more stories about these characters as we were left with no ending and hanging over a cliff
A continuation of a very good series. I have become attached to the characters. The story line has adventure, gore, and tenderness. Some of the authors ideas are a little disturbing and I do not agree with messing with nature. This is fiction but could become a reality. The question becomes should we I like this author very much. Well put together with good detail and character development. This is a series and should be read in order. Nice!
I want another book in this series. It cannot end with just two slices of this apple. There is far more to this tale that needs to be told. Gerry, you cannot stop here. Give us more!
I would have given it a higher rating but at least Book 1 and Book 2 both ended with a cliffhangers. There is nothing I hate more as it's a cheap device too sell more books. The 1st 3 books could easily been written as one 500-600 page book.
Excellent writing for a sequel. The continuity was outstanding. The sequel was continuation of the previous book. Good character building which added to the enjoyment of the book.
The saga continues find out a little more about how the animals were created. Also find out the mystery surrounding New Haven. Looking forward to the next one.
At first I wasn't sure I was going to like the book. But, after the first or second chapter I was hooked! A very good book. I"m ready for the second one!
This series is becoming a favorite for me. Can’t wait to start the next one. With some good screenwriters this would seem to make a good movie or series.
